See I knew Pittsburgh was pretty centrally located to a lot of MAYers!

You and Trixie could leave at the same time and see who gets here first!!

5 hours for me!!!! that's just a nice quiet morning drive for us. ..with a few stops at toll booth's along the ohio turnpike..

The only major airport around here is Pittsburgh. There is one in Youngstown OH but it only has flights from there to Sanford-Orlando and back.

Flying is not looking good for me...I don't do small planes.

So I guess driving it is!

This is so fun to think about...what dates were you talking about again?

Couldn't you fly from Detroit to Pittsburgh on a regular plane???

I'm not sure what dates Lake is looking at. Later in the summer I imagine. . .

we've got two holiday weekends we could consider.

august 1st or sept 5.... but there are a couple other weekends we would also consider if it worked for the group..... aug 22 we are at the cottage so that's a no go for me.

I didn't check that because Detroit is probably half way to your house. By the time I drive there, I may as well keep going, right???

Well, for me, August 1 is O-U-T out. That's our town's BIG famous festival weekend...have to be here.

September 5 is Labor Day weekend. That could cause some issues potentially.

Cedar Point is not too far from here over in Sandusky Ohio. It's America's roller coaster capital! http://www.cedarpoint.com/

Geauga Lake (owned by the same co. as Cedar Point) is closer (still in Ohio)but not as big as Cedar Point, but still lots of fun! http://www.myrollercoaster.com/geauga.html

Kennywood is okay, it's south of Pittsburgh. http://www.kennywood.com/ I'm sure I would think it was better with the MAYers!!

I took one look at that thing when we went 3 years ago and turned to Jason and said.."baby that one's all yours"... I'd like not to orphan our children today.!!!

Cedar Point would be much closer for Trixie and I...and everyone can fly into Detroit, Toledo or Cleveland for that one...

Aug 1st is out for Trixie..and Labour Day as well... I was looking for a 3 day weekend to have a longer trip without jason needing to take extra vacation days at work....
August 8 or 15th maybe.

Just got home from taking Emmy to the doctor for her immunizations...taking care of everything before we move and register at the new schools.

Lets just say it hurt...and she screamed that thought out loud!!!! One shot in each arm... in todays modern medicine age you would think they would have come up with another way by now. I felt so bad for my baby girl.

DS7 takes it like a man, he puts his arm out and says - BRING IT ON!! DS10 on the other hand is very dramatic and acts like he is totally traumatized every time. How long do they continue getting immunizations? I keep thinking it will be his last year every year, but they always come up with more. . .

Chloe who is 11 just got 3 shots on Thursday. One was for HPV, so the boys will not have to get that one! The others were Meningococcal and DPT.

My DS just got 2 last year when he was 13. They gave him a booster for Chicken pox and a shot for Meningococcal. (And they just gave dd this one this year.) I don't think it is required but recommended.

That will give your kids something to look forward to!



Who knows, maybe kids are getting these now.
