These Are The MAYS Of Our Lives! V

Well, since the debut this week of the new dragon of Fantasmic! was performing this week, we decided to head down and check it out.

Our son Chris got us front row seats at 5:30 pm while my wife and I relaxed and talked with our friends. LOL! People were saving space around 4:00 pm and by the time we got there at 7:30 pm it was packed out. Let me just say this, the videos for the dragon don't do justice. This thing is HUGE! Mickey looks so small on stage next to the dragon. We saw both shows and the second show was the best.

Here is my video of the second show, starting from the debut of the dragon until the finale.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bh29fQNYLug

People were yelling, applauding and screaming when the dragon came out. And when she breathed fire, they went crazy. It was insane! You all really need to see this live. Disney really made this show even better.

Lake - What will you be doing for Labour day this year? I heard a rumour that many of our neighbours from the North will be selecting a new colour to paint their parlours which is also their favorite flavour of ice cream. ;)

Just got home from spending the weekend at my paremts house on Lake Huron. The weather wasperfect...no painting was done.:lmao:

PSS- Lake---college football fans aren't that passionate everywhere--- it's mostly the SEC. It's almost a religion down in the SOuth. Girls are brought up being able to talk football with their Daddy's and brothers- and can definitely tell you almost as much about football as any boy. ;)

I love that you are so passionate about it. I think it's wonderful. And yes the south does take the top awards. Up north for instance Michigan and Ohio State have a huge rivalry...but you guys have them beat. Religion, I agree!!!:worship:

They won!!!:banana::banana::banana: 14 to 6

They didn't win a single game last year. The boys have really grown and gotten bigger so we are hoping for a better season, and so far so good.

Yahhhhh!!! Chris. Congratulate him for us.

Did you guys see the latest SW news? They are starting an "early bird" thing where you can pay $10 extra per person to board the plane before others. :sad2: Good grief, we'll be lucky if we can all sit together now.

Back to school day !!!

New school, new people, and new schedule...and a big ol' storm cloud booming down on us at the moment. But I know it will be a great day. :)

Wishing all the other first day mayers a wonderful day as well.:snooty:

Good morning MAYers!

First Day of School! The kids got on the bus about an hour ago. It is SO quiet in here!! Even the dog keeps looking at me strange! :rotfl:

I hope things are going well Lake & Trixie! No new school for my kids, just new buses. When we walked outside this morning DS10 said - well this is weird getting on the bus here! I'm just hoping they get on the right bus when they come home!

Good Morning from Arkansas!:goodvibes

Have to go way back and catch up- and have a cup of coffee with Mark before he leaves for work.

Be back in a few. No one go anywhere. I want to talk.:rotfl:

I've been going thru withdrawals.
:rotfl2:

I'll be here JO. I'm all alone!

Just going back and checking on my other threads, the BB news, and checking airfare. . .

Well, I got them into school.

DD7 was like, "Bye Mom!" and basically booted me from her and the friends she was already making. :)

DD9 was a totally different story. By the time the bell rang, she was crying and asking me to take her home...there were too many kids...she didn't know anyone...she would miss Izzie (the cat) too much...don't go Mom! I basically half hugged half pushed her into the doorway and said "Have a great day!" Her teacher was right there and seemed shocked that DD9 was having so much trouble. I hope she gives her enough attention to get her through this scary first day. :sad1:

Needless to say, I'm a basketcase.

AND I'm totally sick. I think I got about 2 hours of sleep total last night. Ugh. I'm going to try to take a nap in a while and rest and just pray that the rest of her day is better than the part that I experienced with her.

I'll be around.

Oh no Trix! :sad2: I was worried your DD9 was going to have trouble this morning. Hopefully it was just the initial separation and anxiety and she will do better as the day goes along.

DS10 was up half the night. Nervous too I guess. Not sure why. He was fine this morning though and got right up (very unlike him!). Maybe excitement more than nervousness. :confused3 Who knows. I'm sure he is going to be very tired when he gets home.

DS7, no problems. Slept like a baby all night. :cloud9: Got right up, as usual!

I'm back.

For the moment.

Trix- I'm so very sorry your baby had such an awful morning. And you, too. It's so hard when to leave them like that.:guilty: Hope everything goes okay for her today and she makes some friends. The first two weeks are usually so, so so hard on the kids when they are in a new school. It will take a bit of time, but she'll get there. :guilty::hug:
Maybe you could suggest to the teacher to assign a student to her, one that's been in that school for awhile-- as a buddy- someone to sit with her at lunch, play with her on the playground-- you know, to make things better for her, so she doesn't feel alone. I always asked the teachers to do this with Drew- b/c he always has trouble with change.

Just a suggestion. Hang in there.

Jo

Pixie dust for a great first day of school for the rest of the MAYer babies!:goodvibes

Shelly- your boys looked so happy and cute. I bet the house IS quiet.

OH, btw- you didn't look pg in that shirt-- it was cute! Um, is there something you're keeping from us? :rolleyes1 Do you WANT to be PG?????? Do you have baby envy???????:lmao:
Which of the chocolates that you tasted was your fave? That was a neat idea-- too bad it wasn't really worth the price.

RF----
you silly girl.:goodvibes

That's the hotel we stayed at in Maui!! The Grand Wailea.
SOOOOOOOO great.

Make sure you spend the money to go to the spa. Yes, it is expensive-- but it is worth it.
You can see the carwash doors that flew open on me.:lmao:

You'll love it there. I'll answer any questions you have if you need me to.

It is expensive--the food on site. But there are shops and restaurants- (A pizza place that is really good-) within walking distance.

Transfer by taxi from the hotel to there are around $60 one way. I think. I can't remember- but I do remember them being expensive.

Cokes are $5 each. Beer is around $8 a bottle. Poolside the salads are around $18.

Food will really get you. But the pools and waterslides are phenomenal.

That's so exciting.:goodvibes

So the wedding went off well and now my cousin is a happy bride in Italy on her Honeymoon.:goodvibes

I think the worst snaffu that happened- and it's a doozy... was that on the way to the rehearsal dinner, the best man got a call from his Mom--- his Dad had just died!!!!!!

:sad2:

It was really awful.

He sat there thru the whole dinner and never told anyone, acting like all was well.

He stayed thru the ceremony and was heading home yesterday to help out with the arrangements.

:guilty:

Other than that- here and there were little things- like the downpour and hurricane like winds three minutes before the outdoor, on the Marina ceremony---but the Bride was so sweet-- definitely not a Bridezilla-- and it all ended happily.

I'll post some pics in a bit.

 No I do NOT want to be pg!!! I'm way too old for that! :rotfl:

Let's see. . . The chocolate tasting tour consisted of a Hershey bar, a Reese's Cup, a Dark Chocolate bar, a Dark Chocolate Bliss, and a Cherry Hershey Kiss. All miniature of course. I hate dark chocolate! And I love Bliss, so I was disappointed that the Bliss was the dark chocolate one. And the Cherry kiss was disgusting! So I guess the plain old Hershey bar was my fave.

Oh yeah, forgot - we got an official Master's Degree in Chocolate Tasting! :rotfl:

Well my morning has been a bit more frantic than I had planned.
Kids woke up right on schedule, and had breakfast, we got dressed, we were ready in plenty of time, and Ethan my little trooper even decided he wanted to ride the bus today even though he didn't know anyone. So I said ok, put him on the bus, and promised to meet him at school. So the bus pulls away and Emmy and I get in the van. This is when things got bad. :scared1:

The van wouldn't start...or rather it would start, it would just stall immediately. So now I'm a bit frantic as I just sent my son to a school he has never been to, on a bus ride he has never taken before..and promised to be there when he got off.
A very lucky lady I am, my new next door neighbour saw us and offered to drive Emmy and I to school to meet him. She was wonderful, and waited to make sure I saw Ethan to his class, meet his teacher and make sure all was well. She then brought us home. I am so lucky she was home this morning.

It is quiet here without him, and Emmy and I are just hanging out till he gets home at 3:45.

Wow, Lake. You'll never forget this first day of school, will you?

What do you think is wrong with the van?

Our school does this. It is so wonderful! They call it the Ambassador program. My DS still talks about who his Ambassador was, and who he has been an Ambassador for. I don't think DD has been an Ambassador although she is always sweet to girls that are new to the school.

:sad1: That is so sad that the best man's dad passed away!

Good grief! That is a lot of drama but a happy ending! :goodvibes

Wow, Lake. You'll never forget this first day of school, will you?

What do you think is wrong with the van?

It seems that on wet days like today the internal computer has a glitch. Dampness I guess.
This has happened before.

My vehicle is dying slowly I'm afraid. Time for a new one almost...just not looking forward to vehicle payments. I've had this one paid off for a long time.
