I would agree with the guy about HISTA, that show is a bit old and outdated now. But ITTBAB is very good and Mickey's Philharmagic is awesome. BTW, did you hear, DL is returning Captain EO in January!

4 trips and we have not seen HISTA yet. :confused3 Okay, it's on the list for November!

We saw ITTBAB for the first time in January. It was neat enough, but very short. I guess we just thought it would be better.

Nope, hadn't heard about Captain EO at DL.

Trix - So, now that you're done - what did you think of the Twilight series?? And I'm glad that you know what I mean about the tent scene. I think it will be HILARIOUS. Also, that's the biggest reason I didn't want them to replace Jacob after Twilight. :guilty: I liked the tension that they built up between him and Edward in the few scenes that they had together. AND - I am pi**ed enough that they replaced Victoria. She was perfect. :sad1:

Wow, that's a very difficult question to answer! Obviously, I wanted to see how things ended as I read all four books in 2 weeks.

A few quick thoughts: They are totally different than HP. I don't want my girls to read them for quite some time. :scared: I want access to the Cullen's garage. They were very entertaining. That's the best I can do for now. I think I need more time to process everything. :rotfl:

Why did they replace Victoria? I thought she was perfect, too!

Good evening!
Anyone here??????????????????????????

Shelly- great TR. Love those dang large chocolate bars. That was what Drew has to hold for one of his dance/song numbers for Willy WOnka. It is 5 pounds- and was so heavy with his broken wrists. I have never seen them before.
ANyway- great TR. I liked ITTBAB, but hated HISTA- so we've never done that one again.

RF- I love the fall days with the blanket/hot tea/windows open. It's awesome.

Sea- the wedding is indeed like a movie. Would you care for more???? I have tons.:rotfl2:

The latest developments..............

after a very long plane delay due to unforseen circumstances-- no, not a Hurricane- nope, not a Tropical Storm.

Heck, it wasn't even due to a raindrop or two-

it was all due to the fact that a very large Iguana decided to make his home on the runway in San Juan, refused to leave and they had to get someone to go and get it-- thus delaying all arriving and departing flights.
(So not making this up---)

And now-- the happy news....

THE BRIDE IS STATESIDE!!!!!

The other interesting bit of news...
my other Aunt- the fun crazy one- (My Mom's SIL) was taking her sisters and going to "someone's" yard to raid it of their Magnolia leaves tonight once it got dark.:rotfl:
We are still waiting to hear if she got arrested. A Southern wedding can NEVER have too many Magnolia leaves.:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1
(This is sort of tradition in my family--they did the same thing at my wedding-)

And in other news...
My cousin, the bride's older Brother, is protesting the wedding, saying he'll get here when he gets here- and saying that "No one should ever get married". Bless his heart- he should know, he's had his share of marriages-:rotfl: I say he's just in mourning for his baby sister.

And in further news of the wedding bizarre...
the bride's Father, my crazy Uncle-- who has beaten the odds and cheated death on numerous occasions, and who, at 75 still rides a Harley Davidson to Alaska and back every couple of years... thought that the ceremony was tomorrow and thus wanted to know what time to be there.

When he was told the wedding wasn't until Sunday night, he was floored. He was, after all, only providing the money for it. So after he was set to rights with the date, he called my Aunt back and said (Again, not lying- this is true-) he said "Hey, with that wedding stuff being Sunday, has anyone THOUGHT OF A PREACHER YET-- b/c if not, Paul (His brother) could do it for them."

:rolleyes1

I'm sure that I'll have more as time goes on. It just keeps getting better and better.

Okay- I have to get in the bed.
We're out the door tomorrow at 7 am.

Have a good night MAYers.

JO

PS- I came up to my Mom's house tonight to find that Mark had over-nighted me a new GATOR JERSEY! Soooooo cute!!!!! I'll take pics and you can see it in a few days.:cloud9:

PSS- Lake---college football fans aren't that passionate everywhere--- it's mostly the SEC. It's almost a religion down in the SOuth. Girls are brought up being able to talk football with their Daddy's and brothers- and can definitely tell you almost as much about football as any boy. ;)

When Drew talks to his friends about football and doesn't know the answer to something- I've heard him say to his friends before- "I don't know- I'll ask my Mom." And Mark has told many of his friends before that he's lucky- he and I can go out to dinner and talk straight football for an hour and a half.

Jo~ I think you need to write a novella about this wedding trip! You could make millions!!! :hyper:

A quick question...they use magnolia leaves in the weddings? Not the flowers or the petals?

Keep having fun and don't forget anything! We need to hear ALL of the details!!!

Good morning MAYers! :goodvibes Another beautiful, sunny, dry day here!! :cool2:

We aren't doing too much today. The kids are having some friends over (like most days) and DH & I will probably find something to work on around here. We may go shopping and out to dinner later.

Just did my daily airfare check! I am getting so mad!! Round trip for the 4 of us - $1160 :scared1:. I do have that $260 credit, but that's still $900 :scared1:. Last time I didn't even pay $600, without a credit.

I vote for the all leather chair. Am I too late? Did you already decide? What did you pick???

Nope. Undecided. Well, maybe not.

My mom, dad, and one of my mom's friend's voted. Daddy said all leather, Mom's friend said the arm chair and my mom said either would be great as long as she is invited to Thanksgiving!

Got to my Aunt's house and got caught up on the gossip.
And it's bad.:goodvibes

The Bride- the one who is sick and is living in Puerto Rico b/c her DFi job is there-- is still in Puerto Rico.
They are supposed to come home today, but because of the Hurricane, that was downgraded to a Tropical Storm that further got downgraded to a Tropical Depression and has now almost disentigrated-- the airport there has decided to close in preparation.
She tried frantically to get a flight out early- but it was $1500 per person (PRICE GOUGING!) to change their flight--- and the airline (Airtran, I think) told them that if they go to another airline, they can forget taking the rest of their trip for their Honeymoon to Rome. They wouldn't honor it b/c they didn't catch the first leg of their trip at the origination point.

:confused3

So they are hoping the storm passes over and they can get here with enough time to spare to walk the aisle on Sunday night.

Also-- we (My Mom, me and my Aunt) are doing the flowers for the wedding and the wholesale lady called my AUnt and said they had to pick the flowers up TODAY b/c she was going on vacation and couldn't open up the store for us to get it on Saturday.
Um, hello? Flowers die if they aren't refrigerated. Our refrig can't hold 40 DOZEN roses, along with all the hydrangeas and other flowers she got.

So then yesterday we all worked our tails off, went and had lunch (She crab soup--uuummmm.) and then we had our pizza party last night. The Gamecocks made a poor showing, per usual, but we had a great time anyway.

Today we are shopping for a new camera for my uncle. MCat dropped his brand new camera- he's used it exactly twice--and it broke to smithereens.:scared1:

So= that's the news here. A bridal party with no bride. A camera with no lens. A reception hall with dead flowers.

Now I shall go back and catch up with you guys,

Good to be here this morning.:goodvibes

Jo

This is the stuff life is made of!

I absolutely love this prayer,a nd have used it often.:hug
Jo

Oh, Lake...so sorry to hear the news on little Malik.
I love this prayer, too...like the others here, I'm also lifiting up Malik and his family -- they are in God's hands, and there is no better place for them to be. And especially remembering his mother, prayers for her comfort and strength.

I love Stormie Omartian's prayers. They are chocked full of scripture.

"Well now, if you looked with your eyes instead of your mouth, maybe you'd find it."

Can I steal this?

NC- how was the game last night????

They won!!!:banana::banana::banana: 14 to 6

They didn't win a single game last year. The boys have really grown and gotten bigger so we are hoping for a better season, and so far so good.

Tuesday is going to be a really hard day for all of us.

I walked and prayed most of the first morning of school for my kids. I was so nervous.

...but Jedi don't get nervous.

Oh I miss those days when you can say things like that.

NC - How's the team doing? Did you make a decision about your chairs?
The team is :cloud9:after their win! Still thinking about the chairs...:rolleyes1

Hello Mayers! Still smokey out here, they have about 40% of the fire contained but it is hot and gross out here. We are expecting a marine layer to come through the next few days so it is suppose to get cooler this weekend...

Hope the smoke clears! Are you going to WDW?

I would agree with the guy about HISTA, that show is a bit old and outdated now. But ITTBAB is very good and Mickey's Philharmagic is awesome. BTW, did you hear, DL is returning Captain EO in January!

PHilharmagic rules! I am ready for HISTA to be replaced.

Iguanu on runway... You just can't make that stuff up.

I have stolen many Magnolia leaves. Especially in my early 20's, I was one of the first of my friends to get married. So I knew the ropes, and had to help all of my girlfriends with stuff like stealing Magnolia leaves. One week (back when I was in my 20s), this gal that went to our church called me to tell me that she was getting married on Saturday. She sort of hesitated a little and then said, I hear you know all the best places to steal magnolia leaves. Would you steal some for me? :lmao:

Steel Magnolias or Steal Magnolias...
You be the judge!

:lmao:

"Hey, with that wedding stuff being Sunday, has anyone THOUGHT OF A PREACHER YET-- b/c if not, Paul (His brother) could do it for them."

:lmao:

Priceless!

I hate airfare! :headache:

Love flying.

But hate airfare! :sad2:

I am so excited!

We are going to the Razorback game tonight.

Last night, I took the kids to Chilli for dinner. And we talked football. Yep, me, DS, and DD talked Razorback football the entire meal.

I want to hand wash my car today or uh...

Maybe have DH, DS and DD do it. :rolleyes1

This will be the first game that we take my SUV that I got for Christmas to the game.

I am so excited to put my magnets on it! I bought a new magnet last night as well as two new car flags.

Oh, my the things we get excited about around here. Washing cars and attaching car magnets!

Have a great day MAYers!

:rotfl2:

9 WEEKS!! :dance3:

I can't believe it is just 9 WEEKS away!!!

:cool1::woohoo::banana::cool1::woohoo::banana:

Where are all my MAYers today? The kids ditched me for their friends. DH is working in the garage. And I am very unmotivated to do much of anything. :rotfl:

I do need to wash my swimsuit out by hand (it smells like the hotel pool from last weekend) and hang it to dry and then pack it for DISNEY!!! :yay:

So after doing the free chocolate tour ride, shopping, and seeing the awesome 3D show we went on to the Chocolate Tasting Adventure. This was new for 2009, so we just had to do it! It was okay, not really worth the money in our opinion. But I'm glad we did it, otherwise we would have wondered what it was all about! :rotfl:

For $10 for adults and $7 for kids, not really worth it to taste 5 pieces of candy. I guess I thought we were going to be dipping things in chocolate or something neat like that!

Morning MAYers. Happy almost Labor Day!

OK. So I am trying not to get too excited. But - I have to at least tell you guys about it.

My BFF Rachel's brother Mike and his girlfriend Stephanie both work for Hilton hotels. (Sorry if that was a lot of random people - lol) He always gets these ridiculously good deals at Hilton hotels - remember in April when I told you guys about them going to CA? Well, they stayed for like $20 a night at Hilton affiliated hotels.

So, she tells me yesterday that Mike is going to school and he won't be working for them much longer. And he asks his family if anyone is interested in going to Hawaii before he quits. :scared1: That is Rachel's biggest dream. They went to Alaska last year, and going to Hawaii is the last BIG trip that they want to do before having kids.

So, she says that she is VEEEERY interested and calls me to see if Bob and I wanted to go with them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :woohoo::yay::banana:

So, the price of the hotel won't be that cheap because it's in Hawaii. But, he was still able to get us an amaaaazing deal staying at THE WALDORF ASTORIA in Maui.:eek::eek:

:snooty:

It would be only be $900 (for the room) for the whole trip split between Rachel and I (he can only get 2 rooms there - one for him and Stephanie and one for Rachel and her DH and me and Bob to split) Then we would pay for flights and food which is I'm sure where we will get killed. I was pricing flights last night and it's over $2000 for the two of us round trip :faint:

And this would be happening in March. :yay: :faint: :woohoo:

Here is the info for the resort! http://www.grandwailea.com/

It would still end up being an expensive trip for us, a great deal for Hawaii, but expensive still. So that's why I am trying not to get too excited. I am very - LET'S DO WHATEVER WE HAVE TO DO TO GET THERE!!! Bob is much more practical and he says that there is no way that we can go to WDW in Oct with my family next year if we go. :guilty: I am still trying to see if we can possibly do shorter trips of both. So, we'll see. :wizard:

Happy Labor Day MAYers! :goodvibes

JO - hope the wedding went well!

RF - Congrats on the maybe Hawaii trip!

Sea - 2 MONTHS until DISNEY!!! :cool1::banana::woohoo:

I sure hope they gave you full size candy bars for $10. So how did they do the presentation? Did they give a history or story for each type of candy? Is there a right way or wrong way to eat chocolate? LOL!

Nope, tiny miniatures. :sad2:

They did do a presentation. It must not have been that memorable, because it doesn't really stick out in my mind. :rotfl: I'll have to look, I think DS took a short video.

We were to place each chocolate on our tongue and let it melt and then describe the texture, flavor, etc. from the "Flavor Notes" listed on the bottom right.
Hershey2009083.jpg

The whole thing lasted about 20 minutes. Don't think we'll be doing that again!

Go for it! Maui is a great place - I always loved it. Jo's pics of her trip were just awesome...you should make plans and go!

What a bummer! Well, live and learn - thanks for the 411 on that, definitely skipping that when I get there sometime.! :)
