We gave away our dog this weekend. :(

My wife just got a call from the microchip people. Molly ran away from her new owner!

I guess she misses us and is trying to find us.

Add me to the "Have a New Kid by Friday" book club! I just ordered mine from Amazon (my library had a horrendous wait). I also ordered "The Rollercoaster Years" on the recommendation of DD10's therapist. It is all about navigating the tween years.

And then I just had to get up to the $25 minimum for the free shipping, so I got myself a book about Michael Phelps that I haven't read yet. :fish:

I know!

I couldn't believe it either!

A book about him that I haven't read!!! :rotfl2:

It was less than $3 for the paperback, so it was cheaper to buy it than to pay for the shipping. :thumbsup2 That's my story and I'm stinkin' to it!

AAAAUUUGGGHHH!!!! No more sickies!!!!  :headache: :sad2:

Tim called me from work this morning, says he feels awful :sad1: I hope, hope, hope it's not the flu.

We need more PD, folks :tinker::tink:pixiedust: All the Mayers gotta get better...you guys have trips and parties and life planned!

Busy weekend helping DS18 who is trying to find work -- bought him clothes, helped him do a resume, which is really challenging for someone out of high school who has no paid job experience. We were wracking our brains, and being as creative as possible. He has almost no volunteer experience, either  Tim said, "Well, didn't he put together that Halloween Zombie Walk thing with all of his buddies last year, when they all dressed up like zombies and walked around downtown?" I said yeah, but how do you put that on a resume?" Tim said..."Organized and filmed a Live Action Role Playing Event for Halloween."

:confused3

Hey, I put it on there. We are desperate. :rotfl2:

Sea -- love the pics! Tell Lena she makes a fab Maleficent. I think you and Chris should have gone as Flora and Fauna. ;) Hope Molly the dog is fine and adjusts to her new home... Is Chris in that DVD?

A CM asked her when she was going to turn into the dragon and she said to him that he would have to wait a few months! :D

Ummmm no on the Flora and Fauna...LOLOL!

Yes, Chris was in that DVD. :)

^^ Yes Molly was found by the animal shelter in her new home city, but we didn't let the microchip people know about the change of ownership until we got the call. I am glad we got her chipped and she was safe. :)

Morning!

i am hoping that all the flu bugs are history today with all the MAYers and that everyone's routines are starting to get back to normal.

It's cold and rainy here--- again! I thought I moved back for some sun!:rotfl2: Looks like Arkansas is aiming to become a rainforest soon.:rotfl:

Shelly---- oh wow-- aren't you bouncing off the walls or are you styaing calm and cool????

NC-- ooh- I like the alarm clock.;) MCat gets herself up- and I think Drew would as well, but his clock alarm is the most annoying thing you've ever heard. It's really irritating. I think I may have to get him a new one. But honestly-- I sort of enjoy getting him up.:cloud9: He's my easy-peasy kid. Never any issues at all with him. I say that now. :lmao: At ten, he hasn't hit the rebellious years yet and Mom is still the most important person in his life.
As for you asking about my Mom---- I can say that I know without a doubt that my Mother's never ending constant prayers over me is what kept me alive thru those years of rebellion. I am not proud of all the choices I made in my life- but they are a part of me and they shaped me into the person I am today. I'm sure that some of my stories would curl your hair and toes- and I am totally ashamed for what I put my parents through.
But they never ever gave up on me and supported me when no one else was there. And my Daddy died knowing that I had turned my life around and that I was going to be okay.
It was all prayer and love. They both were a true testament of "unconditional love", because I really put them thru it.
So yep--- I love my Mom for all she did to me- b/c she never let up.
:lovestruc

Okay- I'm going to get my TR done. It will be fast- b/c I know y'all have not one clue what I'll be talking about.:rotfl:
But it was special to me and I wanna share it with you guys.:cloud9:

Jo

Good Morning.

Sickness update... aside from a little bit of a cough and a bit of a fever Ethan says he feels fine. I even caught him jumping up and down on the couch last night.. haha ... he says he was fluffing his pillow... what a boy. :rotfl:

I kept him home with me again today, hoping I can get the fever gone. It goes back and forth between 99 - 102.5 . So a little children's motrin every few hours and a freezy to wash it down. He's a happy boy.

Emmy seems fine, so hoping she stays that way. And that both will be at school for the halloween excitement friday and for some trick or treating saturday.:goodvibes

It's another movie night for me today... going to see Amelia.

Morning MAYers!

It looks like we are going to have another nice sunny day in the 60's. Then the rain starts tomorrow. I think I will take the kids to the Halloween festivities that are going on in town tonight. That way if we have to skip Saturday night I won't feel as bad. I am just really debating on taking them trick or treating Saturday or not. . . So close to the trip. . . all those germs. . .probably cold rainy weather. . . :confused3

Hope all the MAYers are feeling better today. DS10 was up coughing again last night. The over the counter cough medicine quiets it fast, I just can't understand why it has been hanging on for so long. Not sure if I should call the doctor or not. He has no fever. Just that persistant cough and a little wheezing. I hate to take him into the doctor's office and possibly expose him to something else. . .

So on Saturday after I posted that first installment of the TR--

We ran downstairs to grab some breakfast. Of course the Mississippi State players were all over the place. Mark had come back up after talking to Todd Blackledge in the weight room and also he got to talk to the head coach of Miss State- Dan Mullen- who was Florida's Offensive Co-ordinator until this year. So he was happy.

We met up with lots of fellow Gator fans in the dining area and sat around drinking coffee with them chatting away.

A Miss state fan- a man with three boys- sitting next to us said - "hey- y'all been over to Florida's hotel to see the players yet?" and we said no- that we didn't know where they were staying. He told us it was 30 minutes form our hotel and told us the name.

We mapquested it, jumped in the car and went to where he told us they were. When we got there, we went around the side of the hotel and they were right in the parking lot, going thru their plays.
YAY!

We jumped out and of course there were cops and security everywhere-- there wasn't any of that with the Miss state players, LOL. The police were telling all the spectators "No Pictures"- but before I heard them say that- I snapped these two---
FloridaMSgame017.jpg

FloridaMSgame018.jpg

Tebow was around the corner with the offensive line and the security around him was SUPER tight. So we didn't get up close to him, but we did see him. I did get a couple of the other players to wave to me-- Brandon Spikes and Joe Haden.:lmao: Who are my other favorite players. Then they were finished practicing and so they went inside.

I had to use the restroom and so I took the kids inside and found it- but it was behind a velvet roped off area. There were other people in the hallway and as we were going into the bathroom I heard a cop say "CLEAR THIS HALLWAY NOW." so I assumed Tebow was coming thru. We hurried up and finished and I took a peak out the door and there were tons of players filing down the hallway. I opened the door and came face to face with Aaron Hernandez and Drew and Mcat squealed. Mcat b/c she thinks he's "hot"- Drew b/c he thinks he's a dang good player.
(He's massive in person, btw).

So they rushed us out to the velvet ropes and there were a ton of kids standing there with stuff they wanted autographed.

We hopped into the car and headed back to campus.

Some pics of the tailgating scene at Miss State---
FloridaMSgame027.jpg

FloridaMSgame030.jpg

FloridaMSgame044.jpg

we really liked this little college. The tailgating there was REALLY REALLY good.:goodvibes We were quite impressed. Lots of people and most of them were really nice. We got a lot of genuine "Welcome to Starkville!" and a whole bunch of "Welcome to State, y'all." Which I thought was really nice and classy.

There were only a few really obnoxious fans and most of them were drunk frat boys who were ringing their dang cowbells as we walked past right in our faces. And once one started, they all started.

I had an interesting conversation with one of them, asking him why they were ringing their "bovine bells" when their mascot was a Bulldog. They acted like they weren't really sure (Duh- even I know why they hold that tradition) and so said It was to "Call the Gators in".:confused3
I said "Well, honey we're here, thank you so much for giving us such a grand welcome we really do appreciate it" . The look on his face was priceless. He was trying so hard to be irritating to us and I was thanking him for welcoming us. You just cannot win a battle in the art of what we call being "nice-nasty" against a Charleston girl. We are taught very young how to do it with style and.........grace. LOL.

So as we were walking the campus- I noticed a group of Gator fans standing near the stadium. I realized that they must have been waiting for the players to come up. We waded thru crowds to get there- and in the next 30 minutes while we waited- the crowd swelled to thousands, easily. We were right up against the Eighteen wheeler-
FloridaMSgame047.jpg

and the cops came thru and said everyone needed to be on the other side so the buses could come thru.

FloridaMSgame062.jpg

So we went to the other side and everyone began pushing and shoving b/c they were mad that all of us on the other side had gotten in front of them.

I have to stop here and say that the majority of the people standing there- those thousand sof people- most of them were Mississippi State fans. :confused3
We encountered the same thing at Arkansas when we saw the players last year. All of their fans were clamoring, pushing our fans out of the way in order to get a picture of.... you guessed it.
Tebow.

I'll never understand it. I could no more care about seeing, getting a picture of, autograph of- etc. any other team's players. I don't care how great they are. He would be the enemy!!:rotfl:
Herer's a cute picture~
FloridaMSgame060.jpg

So in all of that pushing and shoving going on- Mark got totally displaced and separated from us. I had all the kids and Drew was getting out of sorts b/c he hates crowds. I looked up and Mark was in front of me on the other side and motioned for me to come over there.

We ran over just a few seconds before the wail of the sirens started. It was like a divine intervention- there weren't as many people where we were- and the buses pulled up one behind the other, right in front of us. And the doors of the buses were right in our faces.

Here they come!
FloridaMSgame072.jpg

We were standing right at the second bus and as it came around the corner, I looked inside the front and saw Tebow. I told Mark- he's in this one- and it stopped- right in front of my face. If we had've been on the other side-------- we would have missed seeing them all together.

So all the players get off the bus, and the last one to get off was Tim. You should have heard the roar when he got off the bus. Everyone in tandem yelled "TEBOW!" Mark said "Oh my gosh he's like a rock star".

He got off, looked around, grabbed his bag and was escorted inside.
FloridaMSgame088.jpg

FloridaMSgame089.jpg

Awwwwwww. cute.

So we went inside the stadium after going to get all of our stuff out of the car and found our seats. We were 28 rows fromt he field.
Gooood seats.

We were allowed to go down tot he field behind the fence and watch as the players wrmed up and I got this pic of Tim--
FloridaMSgame156.jpg

Here's when a cool thing happened.

Once I got back to my seat, I looked up and Mr and Mrs Tebow, Timmy's parents- were being escorted to their seats- only a few rows down form ours. Drew spied them and asked if he could go talk to them. So down he went with his sisters- and here's some pictures I took-

FloridaMSgame164.jpg

FloridaMSgame165.jpg

I went down there as well- and we talked for a few minutes and took pictures all of us together. She is so itty bitty and teeny tiny. I had my arm around her in our picture and she had hers around me, and I thought oh my gosh- she feels like a little bird- how in the world did she ever give birth to Tim??:lmao:

They both were just so very kind and so interested in what Drew was saying to them. He told them------ this almost made me cry- I don't know where he came up with it-- "Tim is my hero--- he has been such a blessing to all the Gator fans and we have been very lucky to have him on our team."

Awwww. Spoken from the heart of a ten year old.

so we watched the game, hated a few plays of it, but we won and that's what matters, I guess.

Loaded up the car the next day and headed home.
It was a great trip.

Thanks for reading my novel.

hahahahahaha.

Shelly---- oh wow-- aren't you bouncing off the walls or are you styaing calm and cool????

Jo

Honestly I am spending most of my time worrying about one or all of us getting the flu, so it is over shadowing my trip excitement. I spend most of the day sanitizing things and washing my hands. I check the kids temps as soon as they get home. Dreading working at the school book fair next week. Maybe I should get one of those masks that cover your mouth and nose. :rotfl: DS10's teacher sent out an email that she was running low on Clorox wipes. Well, I just stocked her up this morning!!

I just wish the trip was here and I could stop obsessing. But I suppose I will be obsessing during the trip as well. All those germs out there! :sad2::scared1: I really need to stop thinking about it and focus more on how much fun we are going to have. It was a long hard summer with the move and we have been looking so forward to this relaxing family time.

What a sweet testament of your parents love.

Chris was a strong willed toddler, so why oh why am I not surprised that the strong will has shown up again. :rolleyes1 I told DH last night if only he could get strong willed competitive like I want to make the highest grade in the class. Now that would be great! :thumbsup2
