Morning-
I hope all the MAYers and Lil' MAYers are feeling okay this morning. Fevers that high are such scary things. The worst one we ever had in our house was Belle's at 105.7. She never had a seizure but good heavens- she scares me with those high temps.
Keep them without much clothing or blankets on. I know it's cruel when they are freezing so, but it's one way to try to get the temp down.
Belle is doing really well-- she has a cough, but is faring pretty good all in all, with no fever still.
So to help entertain you guys this morning, here's my mini trip report so far---
coming in was uneventful. Had the magnets on the car, the flags flying. Got a lot of dirty looks from a lot of ticked off Hog fans and Ole Miss fans, but in general, wherever we went, everyone engaged us in nice conversation about the Gators and "That Tim Tebow, he's a good guy, ain't he?" It's a bit country down this way.
Until that is we got to Starkville, where we took a wrong turn and landed RIGHT in the middle of Mississippi State's campus, where they just HAPPENED to be having a pep rally of sorts, complete with tail gating and everything. So here goes the enemy, right thru their camp--- and all of a sudden, people were standing up, flipping us off (Belle- "Mommy, why are they holding that finger up to us? Is that what their team does, like we do the Gator Chomp?

Me- "Um, yeah Baby.") their Sorority girls are flashing the 'L' to their forehead, (I'm talking about a thousand people here, guys-) all of them yelling "Boooooo! Go home!" and then they started in- ringing thousands upon thousands of cow bells!!!!!!!!!
Mark slams on the brakes, starts honking the horn and starts Gator Chomping the whole slew of them.
I'm envisioning the scene in "War of the Worlds" where the mob of people are ticked off b/c Tom Cruise and kids have a van and no one else does and they all start shaking the car.
Oh my.
Finally, we got the heck out of there in one piece and no injuries were sustained.
So we get to the hotel-- and there in the Parking lot is the mobile ESPN bus with the satellite. We go in and the Manager of the hotel is taking phone calls left and right saying 'I'm sorry, I'm not at liberty to disclose that information".

After we check in, we look around the hotel and they are setting up a banquet hall for dinner. I looked at Mark and said "One of the football teams is staying here". He said "you think so?" I said Yep- so after we went to a local BBQ joint-- we came back, walk into the front lobby, take a right towards that banquet halll-------- and there was the Mississippi State football team, eating dinner, and when they saw us decked out in our Gator gear-- they stood up and started Gator Chomping us!
Can I just say that it isn't too fun when you make a 300 pound lineman angry?????

We ran to the elevator, laughing.
Then Mark had an encounter with one of the coaches and a player in the elevator where the coach asked him "Did you guys leave Tebow and Spikes at home this trip?" and Mark said "I hope not" and the player seethed-- "I hope not too. I want them to plaaaaay."
So just now, Mark went to get me coffee, and comes back and says- "I'll be in the gym". Which I knew he was going before he left. As he was leaving though, he grins and says- "Oh yeah, Todd Blackledge (The announcer from ESPN) is down there working out." (He's the one that goes to all of the local eating establishments and does a critique of them during the football games.)
So I said "ask him where to eat."
So that's my story so far. The games at 7:30 eastern. We've got lots of time to kill.
Hope everyone is feeling better soon.
Shelly- hope your party has a good turnout and is a lot of fun!!
NC--- you did the right thing with Chris. One day, he will realize it and know how much you love him. ANd then he'll thank you for it as he walks the stage to get a degree from a great University.
Everyone else- hi!!!
Have a good Saturday!
