I have seen Primanti's on the Travel Channel a couple of times. Those sandwiches look incredible. I will have to take a road trip to PA and have you take me there in the near future.

But I have to say, putting fries in a sandwich is not unusual to me...when I was a kid I would take my fries and put them into my hamburger all the time when we went to McDonald's.

I know, I am weird.

Sea

Sure, sure.... That's awesome and all - but you don't get to have Primanti's twice a month.

Let me tell you - living in Pittsburgh...

Woo!! Excitement 24/7

Good job Mom!

Well, poor, poor, pitiful Chris is not allowed to go to the homecoming game tonight.

According to him his parents only love him if makes A's. (So I asked the Alg. II teacher did anyone else make a B. She only one other kid out of both of her classes and it was an 89.6.)

We are just too hard on him and have too great of expectations according to the poor thing.

Well, ya know. If would have at the LEAST taken the test, HELLO, he would not have made a zero on it. :sad2:

Is that too much to ask? :confused3

Good grief!

GEEZZZ!!!

Rant over!

:thumbsup2

Hey RF! Did you know that they have a Permanti's in Ft. Lauderdale FL?

I will be there in three weeks! I might get to try it there!

Okay, first of all...all the sick Mayers  and Mayer kids :crazy2: and Mayer spouses :headache:...get well wishes and pixie dust!!!
:woohoo::cool1: 15 DAYS!!! :cool1::woohoo:

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited for you...and can't wait to read your TR!

How about girls? My boy is no trouble at all these days but my DD- whew watch out. I'm already dreading the teen years with this one. She's stubborn like her mama :rolleyes1 My mom actually laughed the day we had our sonogram and they said the word *girl*. She just looked at me and laughed and the only word she said was *paybacks* I didn't think I was THAT bad of a kid!:rolleyes1 Although now that I think back...:scared1: I better call the library and put a rush on getting me that book!

Uhhhh...girls....I dunno :confused3 I gave my mom ALL kinds of grief, so sorry, you are on your own! JK  Actually, I had two older sisters, and we all came out okay, so from that experience, I can confidently say to you, "This too shall pass, and you are a good, loving, caring mom, it will all turn out okay in the end." :goodvibes

Ok - I am glad we are good here. I do try to limit my Dole Whip consumption to twice a month - I try to find the other specialty desserts around the park to enjoy, like that Halloween dessert we had a couple of weeks ago.

I....WANT....THAT. REALLY BAD. :hyper: And I LOVE the Mickey pumpkin head!

FL beats living in a state that's about to fall into the ocean :rotfl:
I'm sure you get tired of hearing that one from all of us East Coast people but I couldn't resist! :lmao:

It was very good dessert and no we aren't going to fall off into the ocean any time soon. :D

Nope, we sure aren't. I personally went out this morning and stapled the entire state of California all around the edges to Oregon and Nevada, so we are securely fastened to the rest of the country now. :thumbsup2

Oh sheesh. I tried over and over to explain to Noah that if you get 100% on half the work and 0% on the other half BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T BOTHER TO DO IT, that averages 50% which is a big fat F. He used to make me so crazy when he'd do that.

But I have to say, putting fries in a sandwich is not unusual to me...when I was a kid I would take my fries and put them into my hamburger all the time when we went to McDonald's.

I know, I am weird.

Sea

Yes, I can vouch for this -- you are weird. :upsidedow But that's one of the things I like best about you! :thumbsup2

Argh....I am in work purgatory. One of my coworkers took the day off, and the other one went home sick, and one moved to another department and it doesn't look like they are replacing her, so it's just me and I'm swamped. Ah well...the only way to eat and elephant is one bite at a time, my lunch is almost over, so I better get nibbling on this elephant on my desk Take care everyone, and all you sickies get better!

I don't think it's weird Sea! (At least about the fries thing.... j/k ) But, this is coming from the girl who lives in the one place in the world that puts fries on EVERYTHING. I remember when I had my 1st job out of culinary school and our chef asked what specials we should have for lunch. We told her chicken salad with cheese and fries - she looked at us like we were crazy! :upsidedow

Hey RF! Did you know that they have a Permanti's in Ft. Lauderdale FL?

I will be there in three weeks! I might get to try it there!

DO IT!!!! I have a feeling you'll love it! :thumbsup2

Although - maybe you should save yourself for the original in the Strip District and have a professional show you the ropes.... :rolleyes1

I've still never been to Primanti's!! :scared1:

:guilty:

:confused3

It's those dang picky kids. I just know they won't eat a thing there. :sad2:

Mmmmmm, you need to go!!!! If you go to the newer 'restaurant' ones - they serve all kinds of stuff! And they have a family pizza deal for $13.99 on Tue and Thur you get an XL pizza and a pitcher of pop.....

I know this because

I was just there last night.... ;)

I know - I'm doing GREAT on my diet!

Yea, I am going to figure out where that is. We fly into Ft. Lauderdale on Saturday 14th. 7am. They are open 24 hours! I might have to have breakfast there. The ship doesn't leave until 5 pm...or we could go there after the cruise...decisions, decisions.

I will still want to go there with you guys in PA. I get the feeling I will need some professional help...of course, that is what my wife said to me last night...get some professional help PLEASE NOW!!! Plus I want to go and visit the amusement parks in your neck of the woods.

I will keep my eye out and see if I can find another Mickey pumpkin for you KB.

Thank you for stapling the around the state for us....but you forgot the Mexico/California border...oh well! :rotfl2:

Thank you for being so accepting of my weirdness.

I guess you need to be careful what you wish for. Eliska woke up early this morning with a fever and was inconsolable for quite some time. We finally got her calmed down with a hefty dose of Nick Jr. on the TV.

The fever has only gotten worse throughout the day -- hitting 102.3 one at one point :( The doctor's office doesn't seem too concerned and said it's probably just an adverse reaction to the flu. But if she starts having other symptoms to call back immediately. And if the fever gets too high after business hours, do not pass go, do not collect $200 and go directly to the ER.

Poor little thing is so miserable today. However, I did get to discover that apparently she likes 'The Aristocats'.

Good job Mom!

Thank you! I really need the support tonight! :guilty:

Thank you for the support.

Work purgatory... Yuck!!!

I hope it is over soon!!!

Poor thing....

I hope she and all the MAYers get well soon!

:flower3:

Our high today was a scary 103.4. :scared1: DD7 was not looking good at that point.

If Eliska's gets to 103, we are going to the ER. If she's anything like me, whenever I hit 103, I was at 104 within the hour..like every time.

Morning-

I hope all the MAYers and Lil' MAYers are feeling okay this morning. Fevers that high are such scary things. The worst one we ever had in our house was Belle's at 105.7. She never had a seizure but good heavens- she scares me with those high temps.

Keep them without much clothing or blankets on. I know it's cruel when they are freezing so, but it's one way to try to get the temp down.

Belle is doing really well-- she has a cough, but is faring pretty good all in all, with no fever still.

So to help entertain you guys this morning, here's my mini trip report so far---
coming in was uneventful. Had the magnets on the car, the flags flying. Got a lot of dirty looks from a lot of ticked off Hog fans and Ole Miss fans, but in general, wherever we went, everyone engaged us in nice conversation about the Gators and "That Tim Tebow, he's a good guy, ain't he?" It's a bit country down this way.:goodvibes

Until that is we got to Starkville, where we took a wrong turn and landed RIGHT in the middle of Mississippi State's campus, where they just HAPPENED to be having a pep rally of sorts, complete with tail gating and everything. So here goes the enemy, right thru their camp--- and all of a sudden, people were standing up, flipping us off (Belle- "Mommy, why are they holding that finger up to us? Is that what their team does, like we do the Gator Chomp? Me- "Um, yeah Baby.") their Sorority girls are flashing the 'L' to their forehead, (I'm talking about a thousand people here, guys-) all of them yelling "Boooooo! Go home!" and then they started in- ringing thousands upon thousands of cow bells!!!!!!!!!
Mark slams on the brakes, starts honking the horn and starts Gator Chomping the whole slew of them.

:rolleyes1

:rolleyes1

I'm envisioning the scene in "War of the Worlds" where the mob of people are ticked off b/c Tom Cruise and kids have a van and no one else does and they all start shaking the car.

Oh my.

Finally, we got the heck out of there in one piece and no injuries were sustained.

So we get to the hotel-- and there in the Parking lot is the mobile ESPN bus with the satellite. We go in and the Manager of the hotel is taking phone calls left and right saying 'I'm sorry, I'm not at liberty to disclose that information".
After we check in, we look around the hotel and they are setting up a banquet hall for dinner. I looked at Mark and said "One of the football teams is staying here". He said "you think so?" I said Yep- so after we went to a local BBQ joint-- we came back, walk into the front lobby, take a right towards that banquet halll-------- and there was the Mississippi State football team, eating dinner, and when they saw us decked out in our Gator gear-- they stood up and started Gator Chomping us!:scared1:

Can I just say that it isn't too fun when you make a 300 pound lineman angry?????:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

We ran to the elevator, laughing.

Then Mark had an encounter with one of the coaches and a player in the elevator where the coach asked him "Did you guys leave Tebow and Spikes at home this trip?" and Mark said "I hope not" and the player seethed-- "I hope not too. I want them to plaaaaay."

So just now, Mark went to get me coffee, and comes back and says- "I'll be in the gym". Which I knew he was going before he left. As he was leaving though, he grins and says- "Oh yeah, Todd Blackledge (The announcer from ESPN) is down there working out." (He's the one that goes to all of the local eating establishments and does a critique of them during the football games.)

So I said "ask him where to eat.":lmao:
:upsidedow

So that's my story so far. The games at 7:30 eastern. We've got lots of time to kill.

Hope everyone is feeling better soon.

Shelly- hope your party has a good turnout and is a lot of fun!!:goodvibes

NC--- you did the right thing with Chris. One day, he will realize it and know how much you love him. ANd then he'll thank you for it as he walks the stage to get a degree from a great University.

Everyone else- hi!!!

Have a good Saturday!:goodvibes
Jo

OMG JO! :scared1: See what I meant about the other soccer team parents making me think of football fans in the south?! :rotfl:

Stay safe and have fun!!

Jo - So much excitement for the start of the trip!!!!

Eliska update -- she's fine now. The fever broke in the middle of the night but not before she drenched me in her cuddle sweat. Today she's acting like nothing happened yesterday.

So it definitely appears to have been a reaction to her flu shot vaccine. Makes me wonder what's going to happen when she gets her h1n1 shots because she will require 2. Yikes!

Wow Jo...sounds like a lot of intrigue and fun!

Will Jo and family survived the angry hog chicks by gator chomping them? Stay tuned!

:rotfl2:

Happy Halloween!
IMG_0984.jpg

We got a TON of candy. The ride lines were short every where except TSMM. Soarin' was almost a walk on. They had three areas for dancing which was nice. The parade was good, but short. I will post a video of the parade later. Overall, we had a great time with our friends we hadn't seen in about a year.
