I have a confession... I have no idea what the 'tag fairy' is.... What the heck does it mean? I hear people talk about tags and the tag fairy and I just sit there like this ::yes::...:rolleyes1..

The Tag Fairy is a mythical beast akin to a unicorn. They come along when you aren't looking and leave a trail of colorful text in their wake.

You see the colored text beneath my username? A tag fairy did that. They take snippets of things you've said on the forums and 'tag' you with them for all eternity.

Evening Mayers! I didn't get my DIS time today and really missed it. Naptime was not meant to be today.
Everyone at my house is officially ill. I spent my day battling runny noses and sounding like a broken record- stop wiping your nose on your sleeve, ask for a kleenex, go wash your hands, and for pete's sake use soap:headache:! My littlest day care guy is only 10 months and was so pathetic today. I hate when the little ones get sick. They can't tell you what's wrong, can't blow their noses and are just miserable :sad2: After everyone left, I went wild with the Lysol and Clorox surface sanitizer. I think it's going to be a tough winter which makes me nervous for a January trip. I may need to get some trip insurance after all. :confused3

Shelly sorry you've got the cooties too. Happy 1 month though! You better start your family on a diet of OJ, vitamins and chicken noodle soup so no one is sick for Disney!

Sorry to hear about the WOD closing. I live between 2 Disney stores and 1 outlet would go nuts if they closed any one of them, especially the one in Delaware- tax free shopping baby!

Huh... Interesting. I thought that you just did that yourself....

I want to get a tag!

I guess I better branch out a little more on the Dis... LOL.

Good morning MAYers!

I'm feeling a little better today. Not great, but my throat doesn't hurt quite as bad. Off to the school one more time this week here in just a little bit.

Sorry to hear a lot of the MAYers aren't feeling so great. Stupid fall germs!!!

Good morning.:goodvibes

Hope all the MAYers and MAYer babies are feeling better today.

Has anyone gotten the new Pin code deal for next year???????:confused: I want one for my MAY trip!!!!!!!!!!!:sad1:

I guess I need to go ahead and book-- b/c I'm coming up on 180 days here soon and I'm going to have to make ADR's.:scared1:

good grief Charlie Brown. I don't even know what park I'll be in yet.:sad2: I'll be working pretty hard for a couple of days once they release the hours.

UGH.

Jo

Morning MAYers. :yay:

I am sitting here at work, enjoying a cup of my favorite time of year.. Pumpkin Spice Latte season is my favorite!!! :rotfl:

I have a question... Do any of you guys do 'The Grocery Game' - I just found it yesterday and I am terrible at shopping sales. I compare the fliers and buy what's on sale the cheapest between them, but other than that - I am pretty clueless.

I really want to start being more cost concious. So I think I may do it! Let me know if you guys have heard of it/done it/like it/ dislike it. :goodvibes

Are they going to start releasing the park hours 6 months out again now that the ADR's are going back to 180 days?

I'm pretty sure I read that they were, but I could be wrong. I don't see how they couldn't though, and expect people to do ADR's.

Hi RF! Nope- don't do the grocery game or coupons. I don't even get the newspaper.

I'd like to do coupons-- I used to when we got the paper- but I'd cut them out and never use them.

It don't help if you ain't usin' 'em.:rotfl2:

This is my problem. That's why I think I want to try this system. She sends you a spreadsheet that has what's on sale at your grocery store that week as well as which insert has which coupons for the things that are on sale.

I would always clip coupons, then leave them at home - or forget which ones I had. So, I think I may try it! Maybe it can save us a couple bucks for WDW... :rolleyes1

Cuz, really- that's what my motivation for everything is in one way or another. What can I do to get myself to WDW. :cloud9:

Afternoon everyone! :snooty:
We're all still hacking and coughing here. Hope this flu stuff passes quickly for all of us.

I tried coupons but am just not organized enough for it. A friend of mine saves huge amounts of money clipping but I'm amazed at what she goes through for it. She literally visits at least 5-6 stores a week to get the best deals, buys stuff she doesn't really need just to save a few pennies, and spends hours clipping. I save by not buying stuff we don't need. I find most coupons are for stuff I don't buy on a regular basis. :confused3

I found out today that my DS is close to failing the first quarter of the school year. He's missed a total of 5 days so far this school year. If he misses one more day before the marking period ends on the 30th, he fails the first quarter of Kindergarten. I'm livid. :headache: He's in K for pete's sake and has no immunity built up to this stuff yet. He's a walking germ! It's not like I'm keeping him home to hang out and play video games. Every absence is because he's been sick with a fever. They want doctor's notes to document and make them excused absences. I don't take my kids to the peds every time they cough or sniffle. I'd have an empty wallet paying all those copays and have a ticked off doctor to answer to if I did.

Whew sorry for the vent. I feel slightly better. :upsidedow

Gotta go get my sugar fix. I have a box of Good N Plenties calling my name!

Well that stinks Kim! I can't believe that. So what happens if he "fails" the first quarter of Kindergarten? That just sounds so ridiculous!:sad2: Is that like a state law or something?

Are you still thinking about moving to PA??? :goodvibes:rotfl:

When I was a SAH mom, especially when I was homeschooling, I used a LOT of coupons. The local newspaper did a story on me (AGES ago) when I bought something like 163.00 worth of groceries for 17.00. Best tips I can think of are to save coupons for stuff you always buy anyway (I'm pretty flexible, but on certain products I'm very brand-loyal), save coupons for new items you would like to try (a lot of times when they are brand new they will be on special), go to a store that will double coupons if you can find one, and compare savings with sizes -- we are kind of geared that the biggest size is always the cheapest per serving/use, but that's not always the case. If you have a $1 coupon good on any size, you can take $1 off the $3 large box and pay $2, or $1 off the $1.25 small box, and pay .25 :teacher: Best deal I ever got...I had .50 off coupons for Kelloggs cornflakes, and the local store had a special for 1.07/box (a loss-leader to get people into the store). They were doubling coupons, so I got 17 boxes of cornflakes for .07 a box! We were really pinching pennies back then, and so were all our neighbors, so I passed out boxes of cereal to half our apartment complex :rotfl2:

I don't use nearly as many coupons as I used to, but I often write my grocery list on an envelope and put the coupons for the things on my list inside the envelope...helps me to remember to take them. And I try to put any money I save (change at the end of the day, money saved at the store, money I DIDN'T spend on Starbucks ) in a bank I call my "Tinkerbell Fund".

That's just silly...how can they fail him for kindergarten??? If they are willing to excuse the absences if you have a dr. note, can you call his ped's office, explain what's going on, that you kept him home whenever he had a fever so he wouldn't spread anything around, and see if the dr. can write you a note for it without having to come in and pay the co-pay for a visit?

ok...got another installment done on my trip report...kinda slow going, but I'm getting it done! :thumbsup2

That is crazy...failing kindergarten of missed days because of illness. Do they not realise it is going to kindergarten that made him sick in the first place. Even in grade 1 Ethan missed 11 days because of the flu. Two weeks he was out, and they didn't say anything about failing, absences or anything. They would rather he be at home gettin better than coming to school and bringing illness with him.

Kim, I am so sorry. Failing kindergarten is rediculous...afterall its kindergarten. And it's only early October... what are they thinking.:sad2:

Vent here anytime... we are all here for each other.

I have a 'tinkerbell fund' too KB! :goodvibes But, we just call it 'The Castle Bank'

LOL.

Cuz that's what it is. :rotfl:

Our "Mickey Money" got redirected for furniture for the new house... we are starting again. :)

WOW KB! You are the queen of savings!!!!!!!!! I must say I am hugely impressed by all you saved. Cornflakes? 17 boxes??? wow.:goodvibes

Kim- good grief, don't even get me started on the stupid unexcused absences thing.
I got a letter yesterday from Drew's school saying he had 4 unexcused days. I called and said "Um, no, they weren't unexcused, he was under a dr's care. I sent in an excuse signed by Dr X and actually it was 5 days he was out with the flu. You may want to change your attendance books.":rotfl:
As long as they are acting the fool with the unexcused absences, yet telling us to keep the kids home for so much as a sniffle-- off we go every time to the dr for an excuse. I don't like it- my checkbook hates it. Over the last two weeks, I've spent $60 in copays alone.
I can't believe they might fail your DS. That is ridiculous and warrants a Come to Jesus meeting of the minds immediately.
