That is awesome about your new kiddo Kim! I will tell my wife about it! :)

Bring lots of hand sanitizer to bday party. Cut the germs off at the pass!

Sea

Good morning everyone! Jumping on while I have a minute.

My big plans for the weekend involve taking the kids to a birthday party at a germ infested bouncy place. I'm dreading it and will be fully bathing them when we return home. Other than that we are hoping to get more done on our slooooow moving garage project. We are way behind because of all the snow. I have a new baby girl starting in mid-May and am crossing my fingers it's done by then. By the way, the baby's name is Lena. Thought you might like that Sea. ;)

Have a good Thursday MAYers! It's almost Friday!

Ohhhh nose!

Shelly - I hope you feel better really soon!

Jo - Congrats on upcoming trip to SC!

You are very welcome on the warm weather!

Sea

Okay- everyone send Shelly your best MAYer thoughts and wishes--- she's got the stomach bug that's going around.:sad2::guilty:

The MAYers love you Shell--- get better very soon.

Hello to everyone else----
this weekend, I will be pondering which suitcase I should drag out on Wednesday morning-
'cause on Wednesday night---

I'm going SOLO to Charleston!!!!:goodvibes

There's an oyster festival going on and Mom asked me to come-- Mark's keeping the kids and off I go!:cheer2: Yay!!!!!

Hope all is well with everyone--

We are doing well- my back pain is finally getting better.

Sea---- thanks for sparing the warmer temps for us-- on the early morning news the weather man said "We have an area of low pressure headed our way thanks to California..."
and I yelled-- "Thanks Sea!!!!!!!!!!!!":lmao:

It was quite funny since it was 5:30 and no one was around to hear me.

 It's gonna be almost 60 degrees today! Yay Spring!:flower3:

Jo

Poor Shelly! Feel better soon. This is exactly why I don't want to tkae my kids to the bouncy place. The tummy bug has been going around here and so far we've been spared. We've had enough between the sinus infections, ear infections and pneumonia!!! Come on SPRING!!!!

Hey Sea- we could use some warmer temps here when you get a chance. It's in the low 40's but the winds are making it feel like it's in the 30's still. I'm so done with winter already. Come on, I had someone name their kid after your wife so it's the least you could do. :lmao: Just kidding. They named her after the husband's great grandmother. Not kidding about wanting the warm temps though. :rolleyes1

I just got off the phone with a friend of mine that I haven't talked to in forever and I'm so glad she called! We've know each other for about 13 years but lost touch once I had kids and our communication dropped to about once a year. She hasn't been able to conceive and it has been hard for her to watch me have two kids so easily. I understood why she had to pull away but I missed her terribly. Lately we've talked at least once a month and it's so nice to catch up with her like old times.

Jo- Have fun packing for your solo trip! Glad to hear your back pain is getting better. I need to get back to my chiro soon. These darn kids weigh a ton!

Happy Friday Mayers!!!

Kim - Yea, I saw that video on that cruise ship. Wicked! 26 foot waves. Makes me wonder why anyone on the bridge didn't pay more attention the weather radar. These kind of events are avoidable by the repositioning of the ship.

Hello MAYers! I am alive and well. Which is way more than I could have said Wed night/Thur morning. Of course I was alive , but not so well. I have never been that sick before in my life. It was awful.

Feeling better today, still very weak though.

Lena is such a pretty name. When I worked at the bank and was pregnant with DS8 one of my co-workers was pregnant too. She had a little girl a few months before I had DS. They named her Mylena, but call her Lena. After that the only Lena I heard of was Sea's Lena!

Did you guys hear about this cruise ship yet?

Crazy! I'm a little worried about this old earth lately.

That is terrible. :scared:
Happy Friday Mayers!!!

Afternoon Sea!

Hey Sea!

The weather is sunny! :goodvibes Sunny but still cold. 37 now. Supposed to be the same tomorrow, and hit the 40's on Sunday. Hard to believe spring soccer starts in 4-5 weeks and we still have a ton of snow on the ground!

That is cold.

We are sunny today, in the 60's. But tonight we are expecting rain after midnight 20%. Then increasing to 70% tomorrow afternoon, then back to 20% on Sunday. So it looks like it will be a little wet for the weekend.

Tonight, we are going to celebrate Chris' 18th birthday with the family. My dad is leaving on Wednesday to FL, and Chris birthday is on the 20th so we are getting together tonight. My dad turns 75 on the 12th...kind of bummed he is going to be out of town for that.

He is going on a 10 day cruise to the South Caribbean with his girlfriend Kay. (So weird to type that my dad has a girlfriend) He is going to see the Space Shuttle launch on April 5th, then travel around FL and comes back with Kay on the 19th to LA. (6 weeks!) She is staying the month out here.

My sister and I are planning a birthday party for him when he gets back. Kay wants to go up to Yosemite and other places when she is out here. So I might not get to see my dad much even when he is back in April.

So that is that.

Wow your dad is a busy man! Have fun tonight. :goodvibes

Alice in Wonderland came out today...check out the Los Angeles Times front page...

Actually it is a wrap around the front page of the newspaper, but I thought it was very interesting that the LA Times would even let them print a facsimile of their front page for a movie advertisement.

Oh Shelly...I am so sorry you were so sick.

Glad you are feeling better though.

Those germs that infest the schools probably got our Shelly.

We saw Alice in Wonderland on Sat. I really liked it. Of course, my DS6 had to sleep with us last night. He said he watched too much scary stuff during the day. There were some intense scenes for little kids. It was much better than I expected.

Glad you are feeling better, Shelly

Happy Belated bday to Chris, Sea! :bday:

We saw Alice in 3D on Friday night...very cool! But yes, pretty dark for little kids. But pretty much what you would you expect from a Tim Burton/Johnny Depp/Danny Elfman film :ccat:

Hi KB! Glad to hear you liked AIW. Hopefully, we will be able to see it this week. We have been pretty busy around here. Can't wait to see you guys in 11 days! - Sea

Glad you are feeling better, Shelly

Hello Mayers!!!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

So...how much advertising for AIW is too much? How about covering over a half side of building on Wilshire Blvd. in Westwood? LOL!

Glad you're feeling better Shelly! We went to the bouncy place on Saturday and I'm just waiting to see which of my kids is going to start vomiting first! So far so good!

Sea- Happy 18th to Chris and Happy 75th to your Dad! Safe travel wishes for your Dad!

How's everyone else?
We had a busy weekend. We had big plans to get more done on our garage that we are finishing but DH had to work Sat and then Sun he was nice and fixed my mom's car so we got next to nothing done on it. :headache:

I did get my downstairs organized a bit. Our basement is where I have my day care. We only go upstairs to use the kitchen for meals, which is why I'm so excited to get the garage part done so I won't have to go up and down the steps with a half dozen kids 5X a day.

Here's what I did...

Infant Area- brought out the swing in preparation for the new little girl (Lena) I'll have starting in May.
DSCN3693-1.jpg

I bought some utility shelves and covered them with Mickey fabric using iron on no sew stuff. I don't sew. DH hung the little TV and the DVD player and cable box are now out of reach for little hands. :woohoo: Hidden on the shelves is all the big stuff like Little People and all the toys I like to bring out once in a while to keep things fresh.
DSCN4765-1.jpg

DSCN4764-1.jpg

Moved the blocks, cars and trucks to a separate area.
DSCN4756-1.jpg

The kids are loving it today! Before it was just one big play area and they were tripping over each other. It's nice having specific places for things.

Hi Mayers!

Sea- Happy Late BDay to CHris! I hope you guys had a great weekend!
The AIW stuff all over your city is crazy- I was reading about the LATimes wrap online- people were ticked about it.:lmao:

KB- Are you excited about your trip?

Yesterday was my anniversary-- and I got a very coooooooool European Espresso/Cappuccino maker! I was so excited. Needless to say- we are on a caffiene high that will not stop.:lmao:

Hope everyone is well...
seems our thread is all but dead.

Hey Jo & Kim!

Your day care is looking great! Very nice layout!

Congrats Jo on your anniversary and the new coffee machine. (I would like a cappacino with a double shot of chocolate please!)

Yea, even CNN did a story on the LA Times newspaper wrap too. The old time journalists and newspaper people are really upset up about it. LOL! Cry babies. They need to realize that times are changing.

And read more about the "supergraphic" sign wraps that cover entire buildings in Hollywood. The building owners are being arrested and jailed!

http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-billboard7-2010mar07,0,1506198.story

Why doesn't our DA go after the REAL criminals like child molesters and murders and quit picking on business people who are trying to survive in this difficult economy by finding new ways to make ends meet with hurting anyone.

Oh and Chris' actual birthday is the 20th. We just celebrated on Friday with the family since my dad was going to be out of town then.

Sea

Sea-- D'oh! I forgot Chris and Mcat share their birthdays! :goodvibes How crazy that LA has gone nuts over AIW. Mark was thinking of taking the kids while I'm out of town to see it- still not sure if Belle would make it thru or not without being scared to death. "Off with your head!":rotfl2:
Oh and your Capa zappa frappa whappa (Mark's name for it) is coming right up! It's so much fun..... I just had one. Love the foamy milk part!:lmao: It takes so little to entertain me. After I got it on Saturday night- I kept looking at the clock every hour to see if it was time to get up to play with my new toy. I'm bad as the kids.:goodvibes

Kim- your daycare looks like a fun house! Can I come play too?????:goodvibes
Oh yeah- one of my BFF's growing up was named Lena. SHe had the most gorgeous hair I'd ever seen. I was always very jealous of her.:)
