Can we leave late if we keep our luggage?

If we keep our luggage with us do we have to leave early or can we leave whenever we want? How does the 'gatekeeper' know what luggage group you are in? I can't believe I'm not sure and I am Platinum.

You do not need to do Express Walk-Off even if you carry your own luggage off. As long as you don’t need to pick up luggage, you can leave with any group.

Just off the Wish Friday. We ate at Marceline, which stopped serving at 8:30 but they weren't kicking people out or anything. There was a rocket launch at 8:32, so we walked around to the port-ish side to watch (got a pretty cool shot of the rocket going up behind the Magic's bridge). Then we hit the bathrooms, went downstairs and watched them set up the HOTHS decorations for a while. Probably got off the boat a little after nine. They were making the "we kindly ask all guests to disembark at this time" announcement. There were a number of people in the atrium checking in for a side to side on the Magic and they were allowed to stay on.

And definitely get all your belongings out of the cabin as early as possible so the hardworking cabin staff can get it ready for the next cruise. Do note that elevators are hard to come by that morning. Maybe bring your heavy stuff down early and have one person keep watch over it in a corner out of the way on the departure deck? Unless you are OK carrying it down the stairs.

Or? Pack light!

Which I can never seem to do.

Eating at Cabanas/Marceline helps with the elevator situation too, since you are going up when most people are going down, so you'll catch it on the return trip when it's more likely to be empty.

We are always some of the last off the ship (and sail Concierge so could be the first!) but we go to the sit down breakfast and take our time. Having said that, we have found that they are trying to get everyone out of the cabins no later than 8. We live about 2 hr drive from Port Canaveral so typically are trying to get rush hour traffic to pass. In our experience, as others have said, they generally want everyone off by 9:30am so they can be ready for the next cruise coming in.

Eating at Cabanas is a great idea to avoid Rush Hour elevator traffic!

Shooting for being off the ship by 9 is considerate for all involved - crew and next guests.

Happy sailing!
