Mornin'.
Afternoon.
Evening.

Whichever works for you.

I had a rough night in back pain so I went to the Chiro first thing this morning and then to Old Navy to return some stuff I bought (Snicker, snicker) and then I came home and went to bed.

Sea- the Captain EO stuff is so much fun! So very 80's- brings me right on back to my youth. For some reason, I seem to remember seeing it at Epcot. IDK if I really remember it or if it was something I WANTED to do and never got to. Reality often gets messed up in my brain.:rotfl:

Oooh- my battery is dying! Better post quick!

M2N-- oooh a girls trip to Vegas!!! Can I come????:flower3: Sounds like a great fun filled time. Make sure all the girls going are not snitches.....:rolleyes1;)

Hey to everyone else!:)

Hi Shelly! What dates are you going? Next time I go to WDW or DL and there is a holiday party going on, I will definitely try to schedule it, at least once just for the experience :goodvibes

It will be November 6-13. Last year the MVMCP's started on Nov 10th. So we could have gone, but we didn't. All the pictures I see it just looks so crowded. DH would not be happy if we spent all that extra money and it was wall to wall people. So, I am wondering how crowded it will be the first week it is available. I started a thread to ask, but am not getting much response. I'd like to do it once, for the experience like you said! But it is a lot of money. Especially when we are staying deluxe this time. :scared1:

So I just don't know. . . :confused3

Good thing I have a lot of time to think about it! :rotfl:

If MVMCP is anything like MNSSHP- and I believe it is-- unless you go on a certain night (Like Halloween for example) they don't sell more than 25,000 tix to the party and it doesn't sell out.
And take for example those pics from Christmas time you see on the crowded threads-- those have around 85,000 people.

It is very pleasant compared to that.;)

That's just my one experience though.

The thing would be to choose the most optimum day- no Fri/Sat.
we went to MNSSHP on a Sunday the week of Halloween and it was wonderful. Probably our best park memory to date.

Mark says it is his favorite thing ever and talks about it a lot. :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the birthday wishes for Em!!! She had a great day. I still can't believe she's 3 already. We hit one mall for their carousel and Disney Store and then a second mall for the Build A Bear Store. The second mall also has a Disney Store but that mall was super crowded so we made our bears and hightailed it out of there without visiting their Disney Store.
Here's some pics from our Disney Store...I was very relieved that they hadn't made any severe changes to the Disney Store. Poor Shelly I think you got slighted with your store. :sad2:

See 25,000 sounds like A LOT to me!! :rotfl: Maybe because we always go to WDW at not so busy times. . . I wonder how many people are at MK on an average day in Jan, May, or Nov???

You sure are making me want to do it JO! :goodvibes So, if I do decide to do it, it is a seperate ticket, correct? If we are at another park during the day we will still be able to go to the party that evening even though we won't have park hoppers, because it is a seperate ticket, right? :upsidedow

Glad you had a great day! :cool1: Your store looks like a Disney Store should! Hopefully it will stay that way. That was the strangest thing how ours looked like an outlet, but sold regular Disney Store items. :confused3 We are thinking about making a trip to the other one in Pittsburgh to see what it looks like!

Lake, our family really enjoyed watching the Olympics. It brought back to my wife and I many good memories of visiting Vancouver. My wife remembered our dinner at the Top of Vancouver, the revolving restaurant in downtown. It was there we had a very romantic 20th anniversary dinner and I gave her a diamond tennis bracelet to celebrate our two decades of love. So we have a special connection to BC and Canada. Got go back now and reconnect! - Sea

Sorry...still trying to come out of my Olympics influenced coma/hibernation.

Hey all....

Hey Jo - Sorry to hear about you back problems - I hope you feel better really soon. Captain EO was in Epcot, as for if you saw it or not, I can't help you there - but it was really there, I just don't know if it was a part of your reality at the time you really there or thought you had been there. - Sea

Kim-- Happy Belated Birthday to Miss Em!:goodvibes Your Disney Store looks like so much fun. Glad the Birthday girl had a good day.

Sea--- :lmao: My reality is often slightly askew.:) Thanks for the well wishes.

Mari-- "B"'s are very very good for what you are studying! Great job!:cool1:

Shelly-- okay- I just looked and It looks like last years first MVMCP was on Tuesday the 10th. I didn't realize you guys would be there during the first week of it. eeek. It will be more crowded that week than, say, the following week.
For us- MNSSHP had been going on for over a month already and all the locals had already been and were waiting for Halloween night to return.

*If* you are going to go- remember-- the party starts at 7pm, but you can get in with your separate tix at 4 pm. Go in, grab dinner at a CS and be ready to start your touring at 7 pm. We followed TGM's touring plans for that party- so IDK if that made a difference in how crowded we felt the park was. (Anytime we deviate from his plans at all- we feel like sardines.)
25,000 people- really is not a lot. I think that on an average day there may be less than 50,000 in the MK? At our party- we walked onto every ride. No stopping- just round and round and round thru the queue and got right onto everything. Rode everything that way. It was perfect.

On that day- I'd go on that Thursday if it were me--- I'd not go into a park that morning at all- just relax, maybe hit the pool- DTD, then back to get ready for the party. Arrive at 4pm on the dot, stay until closing. The next day should be a late get up day-- maybe only go to a park around lunchtime and stay until you are tired. Going to a party really messes up two of your touring days- but you've been so many times and it would be something new for you to do.
I will say that I have read from people who have attended both MNSSHP and MVMCP that they think the Halloween party is better-- more to do witht he candy stations.

I hope you go though-- I want to live vicariously thru you.:goodvibes

Good Morning Everyone!

The sun is out.. and it is promising to be a great day.

How is everyone?

Busy planning trips, and getting over colds, and digging out of the snow I imagine.

Morning all! Happy Read Across America Day/Dr. Seuss' Birthday. I know he's not Disney but his books are wonderful. We'll be making green eggs and ham in his honor today. Anyone wanna place a bet as to how many of my kids actually eat them. :lmao:

Mari- Congrats on your great grades! Keep it up!!!

Jo- great advice on the MVMCP! I've got plenty of time before our next trip but I have taken notes for when it finally gets here.

Thanks for the birthday wishes for Em everyone! :goodvibes

Morning all..... relaxing for a lil before I have to go to school.... thanks guys I'm so happy about my grades... It was a lot of studying.... but i have to do what I have do....

Morning everyone!

Kim-- oooh--- are you planning a trip again???:goodvibes Fun times!
Dr Seuss day-- Belle went to school with her favorite stuffed animal and she got to wear PJ's there. That's always fun. Good luck witht he green eggs.
:rotfl:

Hope all is well in MAYerland today!

I went to a "The Bachelor, The Final Rose" Party at one of my girlfriends' houses last night. It was so adorable.
She had a wreath on the front door with a big cut out of the Bachelor- with cut outs of the girls all around him.
On her dining room table she had bought each of us roses and "engagement rings"- big party favor blings that sparkled. :rotfl2: And then she made up "Team Vienna" or "Team Tenley" buttons for us to choose. And she had cupcakes that had the Bachelors face on them and sayings like "Love" and "Marriage". It was a hoot. Those girls were brutal in their assessment of hios choice.:scared1:

Hope everyone's getting a teeny tiny taste of spring headed their way-

Sea! Send sun and warm weather!!:cloud9:

Jo

Well, you certainly have given me a lot to think about. . . Not that I would expect any less from you!

It would definitely mess up my plan if we went. Well, not that I have any definite plans or anything. I was just planning on keeping things pretty similar to last year because everything went so well.

We were only planning on spending one day at MK though. Making this more of an Epcot/DHS vacation, since we are staying in that area. If we do the party that would throw everything off. So I don't know. I'd like to try it. But it's so much money if we are disappointed. . .

I have until MAY to decide. That's when I will need to know where we will be on what days so I can make my ADR's.

Shelly,

With the special events and parties at MK, for me, I think you have to keep in perspective that you are there to enjoy the "extras" more than the park and rides.

I know for ourselves, when we go to the Halloween event at DCA, we really enjoy getting the candy, seeing the parade, character meet and greets, the special decoration and special music presentations throughout the park. Our family always likes to see what Disney will come up with to make a holiday a little more special and fun.

So, I think if that is something you think that you and your family would enjoy, then go for it and try it out!

Sea
