There's something in my son's eye.

My son is 21 months old and we were outside playing when a gust of wind blew a bunch of dirt towards us. He immediately started rubbing his eyes, but other than that didn't seem to phase him. Now, I notice that there's a pretty big piece of dirt in his eye. Again, not bothering him. He's acting normal. Should I just let it work its way out or maybe call my doctor to see if there's a way to get it out (eye drops or something)?

If it's still there tomorrow, I'd take him to your eye or family doctor. That happened to me as a child. I couldn't feel it, but my mom could see it and it turned out to be a sliver of metal and they had to remove it. I have a scar in my left eye only an eye doctor can see!

:goodvibes Try and see if you can rinse DS eye out with water. This should work. Also keep a close watch on the eye and make sure the dirt is out.

Hope that this works. Shirley

I second flushing wioth water- that's what first aid says to do (if you can, and it's not a chemical, obviously)....

I would worry about leaving it because it could be fine now but move and scratch his eye. Good luck!
