There's a Chipmunk Eating Your Head !! (Day 6 - Part 5 -updated 1/1)

I love Epcot at night! I honestly think I prefer Epcot at night over the Magic Kingdom at night.

I love the Garden Grill restaurant. I think it's really the fact that it rotates that makes it so fun. We're so easily amused, aren't we? :lmao:

I love the parks at night. We don't do that nearly enough since we are usually so tired by then.

Well I know that I am easily amused. It's nice to have such good company to be easily amused with me.

Love Farmer Mickey!!!!! I'm totally going to have to go there just for that!

Character interaction here was really fun. I thought you had been there.

Glad yall had a great time at Garden Grill! :thumbsup2 That looks like an awesome place.

We loved it. More food Garden Grill food porn coming up !!

Day 3 – Part 8

We chose this restaurant on this day specifically for its menu which was an all you can eat Harvest Feast. This consisted of Turkey and Gravy with stuffing and mashed potatoes, Beef Tenderloin and mixed veggies, and Mahi-Mahi with rice. Oh and there was some cranberry sauce as well.

DSC00595.jpg

So a breakdown of this. Turkey, potatoes and stuffing – yum. Beef tenderloin cooked a perfect medium and veggies – yum. I liked this best. And then the Mahi-mahi. It was good, but not a s good as the other things.

We REALLY enjoyed this meal - DH especially. What made it the most special for us was this was Thanksgiving day and it was close to a Thanksgiving feast. And the best part ?? We didn’t have to cook.
For the kids meal, DD got a baked chicken leg, mac and cheese, broccoli, and some sweet potato fries. I had the broccoli and some of the fries.

DSC00596.jpg

She ate good here and DS was super jealous of her chicken leg so the waiter brought him some. We got excellent service here.

Some views.

The characters came by again.

For dessert, they brought out some kid of berry cobbler which was VERY good.

DSC00615.jpg

DD got some Mickey Mousse. It was cookies and cream mousse with sprinkles and oreo cookies. She really enjoyed it.

For the Thanksgiving occasion, they also brought out pumpkin/sweet potato tarts

DSC00617.jpg

We enjoyed these as well. I would highly recommend the restaurant. We really liked it !!

After dinner, we headed over to World Showcase. We had ten minutes before Illuminations started. Looks like I timed our ADR just right !!

DSC00618.jpg

We got a decent spot just between Canada and the UK and settled in to enjoy the show.

It was an awesome show and we just walked back to the Boardwalk since the line for the boat was so long. We settled into bed and watched football and got ready for our next day. Which was our Epcot day !! Another exciting thing about this day was my BFF arrived that night and she and her DD would be joining us at Epcot the next day. So we were excited to see them and spend some time with them.

I so want to eat at Garden Grill right.now! It looks scrumptious. Definitely on the "to do" list! You got amazing pictures of Illuminations! I have never gotten good shots of this show.

DH took those photos. I bet your new camera would take awesome Illuminations photos !! We really enjoyed the Garden Grill. It was DH's top fav for our trip !!

I didn't realize this was Thanksgiving night at Garden Grill! What a great idea! It looks like you guys had a great meal there! And I love that they gave out little pies, how cute!

Fabulous Illuminations photos!!

We really loved our dinner there and it really was perfect for Thanksgiving. DH was very skeptical, but very pleased with dinner. The pies were sooo good. I think they did those just for Thanksgiving. The cobbler was very good as well. We would definitely go back !!

Love your trip report so far. DH and I are staying in a preferred studio at bwv this coming April. Your pictures make me so excited!

Wow .. that food looks amazing !!
I haven't eaten there .. but it looks like a lot of fun. :thumbsup2

Great pics and TR !

:welcome: Thanks so much for reading and stopping by. You will LOVE the Boardwalk. It is so right in the middle of everything. We loved it so much and definitely plan to go back.

Food and service were excellent. We very much enjoyed our dinner there. You should definitely put it on your list !!

Day 4 -Friday – November 25, 2011 – Part 1

On this day, we actually got to sleep in a little since Epcot didn’t open until 9:00 AM. So I got up at 7:30 AM and DH and I went down to the Boardwalk Bakery to get breakfast while the kids slept a little longer.

DSC00640.jpg

We got two egg and cheese croissants

DSC00638.jpg

Two drinks – Orange juice and chocolate milk. A cinnamon bun, an apple, some apple juice and some Special K for DD. All of this was 3 CS credits and a snack credit. All of this was very goo d. We got everything together and headed over to Epcot. We just walked over and entered through the International Gateway.

DSC00649.jpg

It only took about 5 minutes. We got there before 9:00 AM and they were already letting people in.

DSC00650.jpg

I texted my BFF (Pixie Princess here on the DIS) who had arrived the night previous and she said she would meet us at the Land. We were so excited to see her and spend some time with her and her DD.

Of course we were going to get Soarin’ FP’s right away. Some photos on the way to The Land.

DSC00651.jpg

DSC00652.jpg

DS’s hat.

DSC00653.jpg

My BFF texted me from the front gate and said that the stampede to Soarin’ was ridiculous. We joined the fray and my DH and BFF emerged triumphant with FP’s for 10:20 AM. With time to kill, we headed to see if we could get on Test Track. But the wait was already 40 minutes so we passed thinking we could get a FP later when our FP window opened up.

So we decided to try Mission Space.

DSC00655.jpg

It only had a ten minute wait so we hopped in line. Green side – no Orange for us. DS wanted to do Orange, but I didn’t want to babysit his sick little self the rest of the day.

Here are the games after the ride.

DSC00654.jpg

The kids played a little while and DS traded some vinylmation.

DSC00657.jpg

DSC00658.jpg

DSC00659.jpg

DSC00660.jpg

Next we decided to ride Spaceship Earth.

DSC00662.jpg

There was a decent sized line, but we furbled through it fairly fast. What ?? You don’t know what furbled means. Let me educate you.

It’s a sniglet.

Furble – verb to move along in multiple switched-back line-ribbons while waiting for a ride at a theme park.

I always think of this word when I am at Disney. Anyway, we furbled through the line .

BFF

DSC00664.jpg

BFF’s DD

DSC00668.jpg

We rode and enjoyed and then it was time for our Soarin’ FP’s so we hoofed it back over there to ride.

Furbled? That's definitely a new one. I'm going to have to start using that.

LOL. I love this word !! And it was so appropriate that day or any Disney day for that matter.

My other favorite sniglet is cinemuck.

CINEMUCK: The combination of popcorn, soda, and melted chocolate which covers the floors of movie theaters.

I slipped and fell on it once when I was in high school. Theater was crowded. Everyone laughed. Not my proudest moment.

Day 4 –Part 2

Soarin’

Now this is my favorite ride ever. We asked for front row and our request was granted. And I have seen some threads here on the DIS complaining about the quality of the video on the ride. And I have noticed a few spots here and there, but nothing that really bothered me or detracted from the ride. But on this day, the video quality was very bad. There were several large pieces of debris that continuously jumped around the screen and it was quite distracting. Near the end of the ride it got better, but still ….. I can totally see what these people were talking about. We rode the right hand side and maybe that side is worse than the other. I dunno. In any case, I hope they get it fixed soon or at least by when we go back. Which isn’t until April.

After our ride, we went to Electric Umbrella for lunch. We had a reservation for Via Napoli for lunch but called to cancel so we could eat with our friends.
DD got Chicken Nuggets

DSC00670.jpg

DH got a Mushroom Swiss Burger

DSC00671.jpg

DS and I just got a regular cheeseburger

DSC00672.jpg

We got a sugarless brownie, some strawberry cheesecake and a cookie.

DSC00673.jpg

After that, the kids wanted to do Sum of all Thrills. But I didn’t want to do it because it is really slow and DS always builds a really wild coaster. So I said no. But DH volunteered to take the kids so BFF and I shopped in Mouse Gear the whole time they were gone. She got a t-shirt and I got these wine charms

DSC00861.jpg

And a wine stopper

DSC00860.jpg

DH and the kids found us in Mouse Gear and they wanted to trade vinylmations

DSC00674.jpg

And DH bought one for DD

DSC00676.jpg

My BFF wanted to watch the gospel choir so we left her to do that while the rest of us went to Club Cool.

Mickey and Minnie topiaries.

DSC00677.jpg

And then Club Cool.

DSC00678.jpg

Still out of China and surprisingly out of Beverly. Huh.

Next the kids wanted to ride Figment so we went over there to do that.

DSC00679.jpg

DSC00680.jpg

There was this interesting CM outside the ride.

DSC00681.jpg

And he came running up to DS and said to him ….. “sir !! sir !! I just have to tell you (as he points frantically to DS’s hat) …. There’s a Chipmunk Eating Your Head !!”.

DSC00682.jpg

He seemed very pleased that he had warned DS in time. I didn’t have the heart to tell him that I was pretty sure that the chipmunk was going to starve.

Anyway, we all thought this was really funny, thus the name of the trip report. It really did look like the chipmunk was eating DS’s head.

DSC00691.jpg

We exited the ride into the gift shop. Here’s a Figment Christmas tree

DSC00683.jpg

And the kids stopped to trade vinylmations.

DSC00684.jpg

The rules for trading seemed to be different at each place. For the most part, the CM’s would let them look at two before deciding to trade or not, but this guy was the Vinylmation czar and would only let them look once.

Earlier, we had gotten a FP for Test Track and it was time for us to ride. So we got in the FP line.

DSC00685.jpg

DSC00686.jpg

DSC00687.jpg

Hidden Mickey !! Can you find it ??

DSC00688.jpg

DSC00690.jpg

After that, BFF and her DD were off to see the decorations at the monorail resorts and we headed towards the International Gateway.

DSC00693.jpg

DSC00695.jpg

The chipmunk was going to starve?! :lmao: That is truly the funniest thing I've heard today. Thank you for making my day a little funnier. :thumbsup2

That's so cool that they had a random Imagination pavilion CM! I hope we encounter him in January! He sounds hilarious!

You have done the same for me when I have read your trip reports!! So I am glad I could return the favor !!

Yes, I have seen a random CM out front before, but this one had the most personality. And of course he provided me with a fun name for my trip report so I really like this CM a lot.

Trip report titles is something we discuss on a regular basis during our trips. Sometimes it is hard to come up with something original and cute but this title was clear cut. Had to use it.

I love meeting random CM's that seem to really enjoy their job !

Love the update ! :thumbsup2

Day 4 – Part 3

The kids wanted to get some snacks, so we took a detour towards World Showcase.

DSC00696.jpg

SQUIRREL !!!

DSC00698.jpg

I got a Mickey Mouse pretzel at the American Pavilion.

DSC00699.jpg

DSC00705.jpg

This has been on my Disney “to do” list, so it was nice to cross that off. It tasted just like the other pretzels, but being that it was Mickey shaped just made it more fun.

We got DD a cherry Kaka Gori

DSC00707.jpg

DSC00700.jpg

Which she really enjoyed.

DS decided he wanted one too, so we got him one. Then we head back towards France.

DSC00708.jpg

DSC00709.jpg

To get a Grey Goose slushie !!

DSC00710.jpg

Can I get a hell yeah !!!

After that, we were pretty tired and headed back to the Boardwalk. I took a shower while DH took the kids to the gift shop to trade some more Vinylmation

DSC00712.jpg

I rested and folded laundry while the kids hit the pool again.

After a while, we dragged the kids out of the pool and headed around the lake to eat at Beaches and Cream. We had eaten here last year and the kids really wanted to go back.

DSC00713.jpg

DSC00714.jpg

DSC00715.jpg

We put our name at the podium and we were seated in about 10 minutes.

DSC00716.jpg

Our server was Brian and he was AMAZING. So kind and friendly and helpful. LOVED him !!

DH and I split a hamburger and onion rings.

DSC00717.jpg

It come out cut up for us and on separate plates. We were very pleased.

DD got the kids hot dog and fries.

DSC00718.jpg

DS got a burger and fries as well.

DSC00719.jpg

These were the best burgers I have had on property to date. Very good. Onion rings were perfect.

For dessert DD got a kids Mickey sundae with mint chocolate chip ice cream.

DSC00720.jpg

DSC00721.jpg

She loved it. It was cute.

DS got a root beer float

DSC00722.jpg

It was huge, but very yummy.

And DH and I shared the Milky Way sundae.

DSC00723.jpg

Oh eM Gee !!! This thing was amazing !! We couldn’t finish it but it tasted sooo good !!

And our most excellent serve Brian offered to take a photo of us.
