There's a Chipmunk Eating Your Head !! (Day 6 - Part 5 -updated 1/1)

Hey girl !! Good to see you again ! Thanks for stopping to say hello !!

:goodvibes You're very welcome! The first couple days of your trip sounded like a lot of fun!

I think I would have LOVED to have those princess crayons when I was younger! Who am I kidding, I kinda want some now. :rotfl:

So that was your first Dole Whip? I've never had one! I'm glad yall liked it because it's definitely on my list.

The Poly AND the GF are gorgeous! Sounds like an awesome way to spend Thanksgiving! :)

We had a blast !!

Those Princess crayons are cool.

You MUST try a Dole Whip. Soooo good !!

They really are beautiful resorts. I hope they build a DVC at the Poly some day. That would really be awesome !!

Those princess crayons look pretty awesome! I so want to try a dole whip on our next trip, they look so good!

Those crayons are awesome. She colored with them right away once we got back to the villa. Turns out she had brought a notebook from home to write about her trip and colored some pictures in that. Momma was so proud. :goodvibes

You MUST try a dole whip !! It is so light and so refreshing and so good. How many more days until you guys go ?? I so can't wait to read your TR :)

Quick thoughts...

A) The picture of you and DD at the activity station..you can tell just how much weight you've lost! You go girl! I'm jealous!!

B) What up with no love for Flame Tree BBQ?! :lmao: Of course I'm sure there would be plenty of people who would say the same to me about CHH or Sunshine Seasons. If the upstairs wasn't so quiet at CHH, I wouldn't go there again.

Love the Osborne Lights! That made me want to get my Griswold on! I have a gazillion pictures and video of them as well. One of them is my Christmas card picture. ;)

For arriving at 10:00, the crowd didn't look too bad. Sounds like you got some decent attraction time in before all insanity was upon you.

That is good to know that b'fast is available at Casey's. Not that I plan on eating a hot dog topped with eggs and bacon (I feel my arteries hardening now), but it might be easier to grab a cinnamon roll or danish there in the a.m. instead of the bakery.

That was soo nice of DD's teacher to meet up and ride the teacups with her. I'm sure that will be a memory that she'll carry with her for a long time.

I can't remember if I thanked you for my DD now being interested in Vinylmation. She drug me all over the Emporium our last day trying to find this one particular one she wanted. Which reminds me, I need to e-mail WDW Merchandise and order that thing for Christmas. They don't have it available to order online.

They do look so tropical, and I'm pretty sure I have no excuse not to try one since we'll be at the Poly ! I believe we are at approximately a month or so left? Thanks!! :goodvibes I just can't believe how soon it's coming up!

A) Yay !!! I am so glad you noticed !! All of my cute Disney t-shirts sure did fit better. And my feet weren't so sore, so that is good. I feel your pain, it is soooo hard to lose it !!

B) I liked the meat and the onion rings, but the beans, cole slaw and the mousse were just ... ick. If I do go back, I will ask for french fries instead of the sides and not bother with dessert. But with so many other options, I doubt I will go back any time soon.

Ohmygod ....we LOVED the lights. DH was in heaven. He just loves stuff like that. I wanna see that Christmas card !! I am so slack, I don't bother with Christmas cards.

We got so much more done the day we went with you. That was MK heaven !!!

Yes, I was surprised to see that about Casey's. You would think there would be threads talking about that, but I guess I don't visit those areas on the DIS that much. I agree that hot dog with eggs and bacon on it didn't look too appetizing. Actually, I think it was a sausage and not a hot dog. But the other things looked OK. And you are right, anything that takes less time than the bakery in the AM is good.

It really was nice of her and so special to DD.

You are welcome for the Vinylmation obsession. Glad I can help :lmao::rotfl2: Blame DS. It is all his fault. I've been looking online for some to get for him for Christmas as well.

They do look so tropical, and I'm pretty sure I have no excuse not to try one since we'll be at the Poly ! I believe we are at approximately a month or so left? Thanks!! :goodvibes I just can't believe how soon it's coming up!

Then you have no excuse for not getting one if you are staying at the Poly. :) Even if it is freezing, you need to try one. They really are very good and if you are on the dining plan, it comes as a dessert option. And no one fussed at us for getting a refill.

Day 3 – Part 6

The Gingerbread House – it was huge !!

It smelled amazing, too !!

We went to Basin to get a path pillow.

DSC00558.jpg

And we made some of those soy candles for Christmas gifts.

After that we got back on the monorail and got off at the TTC and took the car back to the Boardwalk. I had a shower. DS went to the gift shop to trade some more Vinylmation.

DSC00559.jpg

Here was what he had already on that day. He was completely obsessed with them !!

DSC00557.jpg

DH took the kids to the pool while I straightened up the villa and did a load of laundry and watched some football.

I love the giant gingerbread house! I think my favorite part of it is that there's a little store inside the giant house selling gingerbread. That's pretty much the coolest thing ever, at least in my opinion! :rotfl:

It is cool and I would have bought some, but I don't really like gingerbread that much. My Mom makes this gingerbread cake that is really moist that I like a lot, but I don't really like the hard cookie type of gingerbread. It smelled amazing though. A nice Christmas-y smell. And I loved all of the little furniture pieces on the display. Like really awesome doll house furniture. So cool.

Day 3 – Part 7

About 6:00 PM we took the boat to Epcot.

DSC00562.jpg

Normally, we would have walked, but the boat was just coming over, so we decided to ride.

Our ADR for dinner at the Garden Grill was for 7:05 PM, so we had a little time and we were able to ride Figment.

DSC00569.jpg

The gift shop outside Figment had Vinylmation trade so DS traded.

Some fountain photos.

Then we rode Nemo.

DSC00573.jpg

And then went to check in at Garden Grill

DSC00574.jpg

This place was very crowded and even though we had a reservation, they told us the wait would be about 20 minutes. There were many people trying to get in without an ADR and they were told that the wait for them would be 2 hours. We waited exactly 20 minutes

DSC00579.jpg

And then we were seated. I just loved our booth. It was a half circle and it faced towards the outside of the restaurant, so you didn’t really see any other guests. So you kinda felt like you had the place to yourselves. And another cool thing about the restaurant ?? It rotates. A full revolution in an hour. So cool.

We sat down, ordered drinks and the characters started coming right away.

The kids with Dale

DSC00582.jpg

I should have set the camera on sports setting because the photos I got here were kind blurry because the kids and the characters were always moving and interacting. We got great character interaction here and the kids really enjoyed them.

The waiter brought out the salad

DSC00583.jpg

I liked it OK. It had too much dressing for me. But I like just a TINY bit of dressing, so for most people this would be fine.

Bread. Yeast rolls (yum) and Whole grain rolls (meh). And I usually love breads with grains in them, but these were kinda dry and didn't have much taste.

DSC00584.jpg

I ordered a Pinot Grigio.

DSC00585.jpg

Farmer Mickey !!

Chip !!

Yay for stopping by Figment! It makes me sad that that ride is usually so deserted, it's so fun!

Awww Garden Grove!! I remember going there YEARS ago with my parents, it is really fun how the restaurant rotates!

We love Figment !! Have to do it every time we go !! Yes, we loved the restaurant. Very enjoyable for our family that night. Thanksgiving was the PERFECT night to go.

I love Epcot at night! I honestly think I prefer Epcot at night over the Magic Kingdom at night.

I love the Garden Grill restaurant. I think it's really the fact that it rotates that makes it so fun. We're so easily amused, aren't we? :lmao:
