We typically stay in Moderate resorts, but stayed one night at YC between a longer stay at CBR and a 3 night cruise on the Dream. Y/BC has also been our dream resort due to SB. We couldn't wait to give it a try. We were excited to spend the whole day at SB and then utilize the fact that Epcot was so close. We had a truly fantastic day. We chose YC over BC because I have repeatedly heard it was quieter and each room has a balcony. We loved the location of our room at YC (2nd floor, garden view...close to the main lobby...maybe about 5 or 6 rooms down)....EXCEPT for one thing. The neighbors next to us in the adjoining room...were God-awful loud. We have 8 year olds and they know to be quiet and have since they were very young, especially early in the morning. These people were brutal. We couldn't believe how thin the walls seem there. We have only experienced this level of inconsideration once and that was at Pop...we chalked that up to "you get what you pay for."

SO... My question is... Have you experienced this at YC? Are the walls just thin in general? We loved the resort so much, we would like to stay the entire week there, but DH is hesitant for that reason alone. If we were staying longer, I would've asked to be switched, but since it was a one night stay, we had to make do. I'd love to hear your thoughts...TIA!

This past May/June we had a similar experience at a Beach Club. Our room was a connecting room though, I even put a towel down to help with the noise. It was a teenage girl yelling at her mother, I finally went over and banged on the door & the yelling stopped. We could hear every word the girl was saying and she wasn't being very nice. I am pretty sure they left a few days after and our new neighbors were much quieter :thumbsup2

As far as noise goes, we haven't had a lot of problems with noisy neighbors at the YC/BC. . But occasionally we have heard our neighbors. I'm not sure if the walls at the YC/BC are thinner the the other Disney resorts though.

Someone suggested that one way to get noisy neighbors to be quiet is to stand next to the wall and yell something like "I can hear every single word the next door neighbors are saying." Or something to that effect. Hopefully they will get the hint and tone it down. After all, it is a deluxe resort and people should be expected to be courteous.

According to the WDW website, there are Yacht Club Club level rooms with the roll in shower. If you check the "Accessible" box, it will provide a list of all the accessible rooms.

I know that the BCV's have at least one studio with the roll in shower.

Since I'm a newbie, I am not allowed to post photos or links, yet, even when quoting other posts. Last night, I did notice that when looking at the accessible rates/rooms, you can click on "View photos." There are pictures of roll-in showers and bathrooms, if you scroll through all of the room pics, both for YC Club rooms and BCVs.

I think that rooms with a connecting door to the next room may be a bit less soundproof, than non-connecting rooms.

During a recent stay at BC in a room with a connecting door, I could very easily hear the couple in the next room argue about money, during the late evening hours. The male kept yelling at the female that all she had done, since they arrived, was go shopping and spend money. The language was not the kind that you would want kids to hear (from both of them) . I think that sometimes people forget that they are not at home and can't possibly imagine that anyone would want others to hear their "private conversation."

Sue - Thank you for the tip about the inflatable pool noodles! I just bought a six pack to take with us for our trip in September! These will be great for floating around on hot afternoons :)

does anyone know how much the normal pool noodles are to buy at Disney? Not sure we can get 4 in our case!

Thanks

I just booked another return trip to YC on our last minute trip to celebrate DS's birthday. We will be there 9/23~28! :dance3: I've been looking at AP discount rate and no Standard/Garden view rooms were available for my dates. If I played with my dates and did a split stay, it was available but I really didn't want to move around on such a short trip. But this morning, when I checked, YC garden view room opened up and now, it's official that we are staying at YC for our surprise birthday trip. :thumbsup2

Deluxe, Moderate, Value or Holiday Inn, people should be courteous. I've found no correlation between money spent on a hotel (or vacation or restaurant or . . .) and people's behavior.

Back from a magical stay at Fort Wilderness in the Cabins. Had a wonderful time there. Housekeeping perfect, restaurants wonderful.

Only disappointment was when we went over to Ohana's for dinner. They took away the salad. They no longer also have chicken skewers. They changed the noodles ... Lily wouldn't eat them and they were her favorite food!!!

Very very disappointed. We will not be back.

Highlight was breakfast at Trail's End!! Jeanne said she would drive two hours for that breakfast any time!

If you go back to Dee's post (#1314 on page 88 of this thread), it sounds like you can purchase noodles for SAB at the Marketplace for $4 each.

Thanks for the update on 'Ohana's Teena. Although our next trip isn't until late 2015, this restaurant was at the top of my "to be tried" list as it has been raved about by some fellow co-workers.

Also, thoroughly enjoying seeing pictures of Princess Lily. Thanks for sharing them with us!

We just were notified out magic bands shipped!!! It is perfect timing. I bough my DS the disney Infinitey game for Xbox. He can't wait to unlock the special character with his magic band!!!

My question is other than this package should I be on the lookout for any other communication from disney or yacht club?

My question is other than the bands is there any other communication I should be looking for from YC or disney? We are staying in a garden view room for our once in a lifetime trip!

Teena, Glad you enjoyed the FW cabins. We have stayed there before and found it relaxing. Sorry you were disappointed w/Ohana's. We've only had breakfast there and thought it was very good. Trail's End is on our list of places to try. All the best to you and your family!

That stinks about Ohana! We have ADR's there during out trip. Was going to be our first time there. I should probably cancel and book someplace else. Was kinda leaning that way with the construction there anyway!

So glad you had such a nice stay at Fort Wilderness!! Must be having so much fun!
