Ok here's the deal:

Going to Disneyworld for 4 days then going on the 7 day Western Cruise.

We need transportation from airport to Port Orleans, Port Orleans to Cruise and then Cruise to airport.

2 Adults traveling. Disney transfers will cost a total of $140 however the leg from the motel to cruise leaves so late that we want to take an alternative option so we get there earlier. So that's our dilema. We are looking for the cheapest way to do this. Can we take Mears/Disney just one way and how much would that be for the airport transfers? Should we rent a car for the middle leg? All suggestions appreciated!!!!

Yes, you have many options...

Mears does not require round trip purchases. I have taken Mears to the park and then picked up a one day car rental from there whne I was ready to go the port (Hertz is the agency on site now I believe) dropped it off in PC and taken their free shuttle to the ship and done a car rental on return and dropped it off at MCO. It would work out about the same price wise for the two of you but it give you much more flexibility.
