There are no sharks at WDW, so let's go!!!

Sounds like its lovely where you are and that you are having a great time. Enjoy the rest of your stay, and can't wait for your mini trippie. Take care and have fun.

Hey!! Sorry I haven't checked in for a while...life's been busy to say the least. Can't wait to re-read everything and get caught up on everything. Hope you're having/had a great mini trip and can't wait to hear all about it! :goodvibes

Happy New Year!

I should have an update tomorrow. I only took a couple of pictures because I forgot my camera and had to use DD's. Thanks for being patient everyone.

I have no idea how I missed this for 6 weeks!!!!:scared1: I'm subbing and will try to get caught up asap:goodvibes

Can't wait to hear all about your plans!!

Paula

Hi :yay:
LOVE your counter!!!
Hope you are well and the trip was good.
We are gett ing icey rain, the roads are bad tonite.
Have you made any new disney trip plans? We are planning a disney nite later in the month.
Have a good nite.

Sharks didn't scare me out of the ocean, but jellyfish did!
Jellyfish hurt, especially when they bring brothers and sisters and they all decided you are swimming in their territory.
Only you didn't know it. And they don't bark to warn you or anything.
They just attack!

Speaking from my experience, anyway!

Okay, this trip is six months away, so I am ready to check in on the countdown. Hanging around the house in your jammies all Christmas is great, but now that Christmas is over, it's time to fast forward to summer! I don't like all that stuff in between. For a teacher, that's just the worst time of the year, so I go from a holiday mindset to a summer mindset. Occasionally, I am lucky enough to get to take a short spring break trip, and it looks like it is a go for this spring break, so that definitely brightens up January and February for me!

So, what kind of Disney dreaming is going on at your house this week? Any trip-related gifts for Christmas - either given or received?

I am dreaming of going. Period! :rotfl: I just had to pay for a root canal with no dental insurance. Yay Me!!! I didn't get any Disney related presents for Christmas. My DH wants to get me a new camera, but funding was low this year for Christmas, that's the way it goes.

I don't know about jelly fish, but I do know about Portugese man-o-wars. They have the tiniest bubbles and THE longest tentacle!! Then they wrap that tenticle around you and sting the CRAP out of you!!!
My DH got a call today to be on a show on Animal Planet. I'll fill everyone in on the details once we have them.

Thanks Grace!
The trip was good and we had a lot of laughs. We just had a little bit of snow here. DH was in Findlay today and they had wintery mix.
No new Disney plans as of right now. Just hoping airfare stays low so I can buy soon. I hope you have a fun Disney planning night!!!
You have a good night too. I'm taking pain meds for my tooth ache and going to bed. :sad1: My face hurts!!

Ah I hope your feeling better today, tooth problems are never nice. For some reason I really don't like the dentist, it panics me when I have to go.

Oh can't wait to hear the details on Animal Planet, that is really cool.

Hi Lisa!!

I'm all caught up:goodvibes I was a little overwhelmed showing up 10 pages in...but all is good:thumbsup2

OK some random thoughts on your PTR posts:upsidedow

Your kids are all so cute and photogenic!! I know how it is though about teens being photophobic:sad2: I have SO FEW pics of my DS.. I actually took a pic of his school picture so I'll have SOMETHING to put on my PTR.. that I *hope* to get started this week:rotfl2:

I'm glad to finally know the whole shark drama...wow...all I can say is WOW!!

I dont swim in the ocean/lakes either (granted I don't really swim in man made swimming holes either LOL) but it has less to do with sharks and more to do with my complex about the fact that billions of fish use that water as their toilet...ewwwwww!!!

Your December (with the furnace and car) sounds a lot like mine (3 cracked up vehicles in 2 weeks:sad2: ) but at least it's a new year and thing seem to be looking up!! :thumbsup2

Your hair experience would have pushed me off the deep end LOL!! But it did turn out gorgeous in the end!

I love holidays that I can sit around in my jammies all day and just enjoy! Sounds like your Christmas was wonderful!

We will be heading to WDW a month after you (in July) I was bummed about the ADR changes, but oh well! More time to decide...and change my mind... and decide...and change my mind again!!LOL!!

I'm so glad you're here Paula!!! Thanks for all of your nice comments. Right now I'm feeling gooood on my Vicodin right now.
So, to add to my Dec, I need a root canal. Yay me.

Where are you planning on eating? I know I want to do Chef Mickey's that's about all that I've decided on officially.

I know that we will do Chef Mickeys and Hollywood and Vine... Kyle loves both of them. H&V gets trashed by everyone... but I've been there 3 times, all for early dinners (4-430pm) and the food was fabulous. Aside from that, no decisions have been made... maybe it's a good thing they changed to 90 day ADRs LOL!!

sorry about your root canal:sad1: I had on years ago on a front tooth... yuck!

So, my little New Years TR begins on Wed morning at 3 a.m. We had an 8 hour drive ahead of us and wanted to get an early start. We were on our way by 4 a.m. Kids in the car and ready to go. Well, actually, we had to make a visit to the bank and drop some $$ off at home. While on the way to the bank, youngest DD had to go to the bathroom. Better now then when we get on the road. DH brought her out to the car wrapped in her blanket, so we forgot her shoes. OF COURSE! Who needs shoes when you're going to a place that's 7 degrees? So we're on the road. I fall back asleep and DH is driving. Two hours later DH is ready to stop. He said that he was trying to stay awake and drive through a snow storm across Ohio and part of Indiana. So, we stop. Where is youngest DD coat? OH, at HOME! OF COURSE it is!! What a great place for a coat to be in the middle of the winter. Well, we get to buy a new coat when we get to our destination. :woohoo:
My turn to drive now. I'm hearing on the radio that there is a stretch of road coming up that is really bad. It kept snowing on and off till almost the Indiana/Illinois border. DH woke up when we hit the sheet of ice that was supposed to be the road. Now, I'm not sure about you guys, but my DH RARELY lets me drive when we go on trips and especially through Chicago. So, the fact that I was driving on ice and getting ready to enter Chicago made me extra nervous. I had death grip on that steering wheel.
Whew we made it out of the danger zone and through Chicago in no time at all. We stopped and went potty, got some breakfast and changed drivers. We arrived in LaCrosse, WI at around 1 p.m. got some lunch and then went and met up aunts house to see my parents and my grandmother.
I spent the rest of the day and part of the night with my family and DH took the girls to DBIL house. My parents took me to a buffet for dinner that night and I have to say what fun we had. I had to laugh because I've never seen so many people in camoflauge, eating dinner in my life. At one point I said, "hey mom, can you see that guy over there? Me either, he's camoflauged." Another guy had on camo pants/bib overall things and I said that he was just a "floating head" because of all the camo below his neck. :rotfl: :rotfl: It was pretty freakin funny!!! See, where we come from, it gets super cold and there are a lot of hunters. So, the hunters have to dress warm when you hunt. Therefore, why not wear your hunting gear out to eat when it's cold???? :confused3
I said goodbye to my parents and grandma and spent New Years Eve with both BILs and SILs and our kids playing games and feeding our faces. SIL is a really good cook and made yummy homemade carmelt corn. Mmmm...
The next day we went to the mall to look for a specific game that DSIL wanted. No luck with that. But, we did find a different game called Aquire. You build hotels using tiles on a board and then buy stock in those hotels. There are mergers and selling of stock too. It's an o.k. game, a lot of the family loved it. Just not me. I prefer card games where I don't have to think a lot. ;)
The kids went sledding and youngest DD put on her new coat. I bought it big enough so that it would fit her next year. I am not a big outdoors person, nor do I like the cold. Therefore, I do not and have not taken my kids sledding in, well, forever!!! I know, bad mommy. DD had a blast. There was a hill right across the street from DBIL house. I'll post pictures in the next installment.
That's all for now. I need to vacuum up the THOUSANDS of Christmas tree needles that fell from the tree when we took it down last night. Another year gone and closer to our trip.

that sounds like a great mini trip!! We don't do anything for NYE/NY i'm always envious when i hear about all the fun other people have!

I'd have been aggrievated too about the shoes and coat:rotfl2: But that's because I've done it with my DD too:lmao:

So much for trying to be the good parents and let the little one stay all tucked up... we forget to dress them :rotfl:

I know! Next time I'll have her walk out barefoot so I know whether she has her shoes on or not. haha.
It was a spur of the moment trip, but we're glad we went. We love his brother and sister and their families.

Sounds like a great trip. I am glad you got through the snow and ice safely, I would not want to be driving in weather like that at all, it would scare me no end. I would really like to visit Chicago, it sounds really nice. Do you go to that area often?

We only drive past Chicago. The skyline is truly amazing though. Spectacular!! I been downtown Chicagoa couple of times and eaten dinner. We went to one of the museums a long time ago, but I don't remember which one.

Hi Sounds like a great trip. It's always good to be with family. I glad you glad to see your mom and grandmother. I miss mine.
I was in Chicago when I was little we went to a place called "old town" it had lots of little touist things, It was the first "big town " I had even been.
Are you still working?

We are planning on eating at Chef Mickey's on our trip. We did on our 1st trip and really enjoyed it. We did it in our 1st day, 1st thing, so we have decided that this will be a family tradation with us when even we go to WDW.

Yes, I'm still working. I'm working 3 days a week, stocking athletic shoes.
It's not what I want, but it's a job and in my neck of the woods, I'm just happy to have a job.

Chef Mickey's sounds like a great tradition. We haven't started any restaurant/park traditions yet. Maybe this is the trip to do so??

No insurance? Ouch!
I am lucky to have decent insurance. My dentist part was only a little over a hundred, and the three prescriptions were no cost.

I hope the dreams you're having or had while on meds are more normal than what I had!
