There are no sharks at WDW, so let's go!!!

Hey Lisa! I just finally had a chance to get all caught up. First of all... :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: for DH. Sharks are one of my biggest fears, but it's one that everyone always tosses aside as irrational. It's one of those "what are the odds?" kinds of things. Seriously, that's INSANE. I'm so glad that he's OK and you can now all put that behind you and look back and laugh.

Your dog's adorable! I love her little thong  And POR is GORGEOUS! I know you know since you've stayed there before, but I seriously love that resort. I'm a city girl through and through but I love anything tropical, so after all of our resort-hopping I expected to love the more Caribbean resorts, but I wound up LOVING POR. Who would've thought I'd fall in love with a resort themed after the Louisiana Bayou?? It's gorgeous.

Can't wait to read more!

No insurance? Ouch!
I am lucky to have decent insurance. My dentist part was only a little over a hundred, and the three prescriptions were no cost.

I hope the dreams you're having or had while on meds are more normal than what I had!

Yeah, no dental or eye ins. That's the one thing I miss about working for the county. My health ins is expensive, but it covers SO much!! My DS had to have prescription ankle braces and we had NO out of pocket expense. The Vicodin that I'm taking only cost me $2.09. We only had to pay $50 of the $700 ambulance bill from the shark thing and $500 of the hospital bill.
I had a weird dream last night that kept me up until 3. I had a dream that some guy was sitting on my couch watching me sleep and when I asked him what he was doing there he said "you know what I'm doing here". Then I told him I was going to call for my husband. I starting saying his name over and over, and they guy was like laughing at me and then finally I yelled his name really loud! Creepy!!! DH said it was all the drugs talking. Two Vicodin can do a number on your mind :rotfl:

So, I believe that I left off of our mini trip on New Years Day. We went to DSIL house the next day for a family get together at DMIL house. Of course there had to be family drama. What holiday wouldn't be complete without some drama. Still not sure what and who was all involved, we just swept it under the rug and moved on with the "party". The next day was Sat and we all stayed in our jammies until about noon trying to decide if we wanted to go anywhere or do anything out of the house. There was a storm coming consisting of freezing rain, so we decided not to go too far. The older girls got dressed and we went into town and rented 3 movies and a golf game for the Wii. I was making fettucine alfredo for dinner, so we went back home and I started that yummy process. DSIL and I were starting our "healthy eating" habits that Monday, so we thought we'd grow some fettucine babies that night. Why not? We ate chocolate chip cookies too! Yummy :woohoo: We stayed up lated playing O Hell, and Acquire. Then some stayed up and watched some creepy movie about a woman who has an eye transplant and then can see dead people and how they died? I chose to go downstairs and watch Enchanted with my little one.
When we got up in the morning, it was a skating rink outside. We had to be very careful not to go into the woods. DSIL lives in the woods. Once we made it past Madison, it was smooth sailing. We made it through Chicago without any delays and through the Indiana toll plaza too. That never happens!!! :woohoo: :woohoo:
We were home by 4:30 p.m. and had the kids in bed on time for school the next day.

Now, we just had 12 inches of snow here yesterday. You would think that a blizzard hit. Everything shut down and closed. No basketball game on Sat night. What???? So, DH and I went to see Twilight. Loved it!! Any of you seen it? What did you think?

HI!!

12 inches huh??? That's not too shabby. I was out of town til today... and the town I was in cancelled MASS this am due to weather:scared1: What's up w/ that?? never heard of mass being cancelled for weather:sad2:

I saw Twilight... I loved it too:cloud9:

Welcome! Yeah, you have one in 11 Miliion chances of getting bit by a shark and your are 3 times as more likely to get struck by lightening than a shark attack. He got a call from The Discovery Channel and he is going to be on a show on Animal Planet. I'm not sure when, but I will definately let everyone know when it happens.
I love beach themes too. My idea of a relaxing vacation is sitting on the beach, basking in the sun, reading a book and taking cat naps. My DSIL owns a condo in Playa del Carmen MX and we love it there. So beautiful and right on the beach.
I really love POR too. The grounds are so pretty and relaxing. We've only stayed there once, but love it. We were at POFQ twice when the kids were smaller and really liked the smallness of that resort. I hope you like CBR

We cancelled our service this morning because of the weather. My DH would've driven to church, but there are others who wouldn't have and they didn't want to risk people getting hurt on the way there. People/places were cancelling things yesterday morning for things yesterday night.

I'm glad you liked the movie!!! I can't wait for the other movies to come out.

Hey I just wanted to say hey! I've got to get caught up (with life in general) but didn't want you to think I'd forgotten about you. :goodvibes

:confused3
You may want to remind DH that there ARE sharks in DW...I can't rememberr their names, but from Finding Nemo. I don't know if I've ever seen charactors of them (I think if they had them, but they are a hoot). Tell dh not to worry though, they are working at becoming vegatarians. :rotfl:
Yep, Bruce the Shark who's 12 step mantra goes "Fish are friends, not food". There are sharks in the aquarium at Epcot and small ones in Shark Reef at Typhoon Lagoon. All perfectly safe, and Bruce is even willing to pose with you in his mouth at the end of the Nemo clamshell ride! One more example of Disney being better than reality:wizard:

I just found your pre trip report today. I read it all. You are so funny you had me laughing. I love the dogie in the pink panties. I can't wait to hear more about your trip.

I know you wouldn't forget about me!! How could you possibly?? Just kidding. I know how life gets crazy.

Thanks for joining in! I know. I didn't think about the whole shark thing until after I posted the title. We went to DisneyWorld Oct '07, as a couple, and I took DH picture by the lego shark in DTD! :rotfl: There is a statement by Bruce in the aquarium that says something about the chances of getting bitten by a shark. I took a picture of it so that we could always be reminded of that little bit of trivia! :rotfl: :rotfl: I wanted to say, "yeah, right"!!:rotfl:

Thanks! Welcome aboard!! I'm glad you were laughing. My doggie had me laughing too! I'm sure there will be more to come.

Okay, so root canal done!! I had a little issue with the topical numbing thing. He put too much on the Q-tip and it dripped down my throat, numbing my tongue. He shot me up twice and then I felt the drippy stuff at the back of my throat. Felt like I was choking. Scariest thing ever!! I started crying and shaking and I had to sit up. It was crazy!!! But, it worked out fine, burning teeth smell and all.
Then my next question, what to eat for lunch since I can't feel the entire right side of my face??? Ice cream, of course! :woohoo: I open the freezer and the BIG box of dog treats, that's on top of the fridge, falls off and dumps all over the floor. So, I pick up the treats and then I stood up. RIGHT INTO THE BOTTOM OF THE FREEZER DOOR!!! Whacked the back of my head, HARD!!! I cried, and cursed and cried some more. :sad1: Now I have a bump on the back of my head. Obviously my head isn't numb because of the exruciating pain that I felt.
I hope everyone else is having a better day!!!

Go straight to the bed.

Get in it.

Go to sleep.

Sweet dreams!

My dental work was last Thursday, and the bruising is now moving around in my mouth. You know how bruises travel as the settle. I'm just now eating normal food, but even at that, it's slow going, and it's definitely not back to normal. Take it easy. Don't get in any hurry.

Oh, and close the freezer door so that the ice cream doesn't melt.
You'll be needing that.

Ah I hope you are feeling better soon, sorry you are having such a rubbish day. I know how it is, first one thing, then another, then another, it just sucks. But I hope the ice-cream helped.

I have been away for a few days, I took Nick away for his birthday, so did I miss anything. I am trying to catch up with everything but trying to uplaod photo's for my report too, and I am soooo tired.

Anyway feel better soon. xxx

UGH, I'm so sorry to hear about your day. You need to go relax with your feet up! I hope you feel better soon!

I am so sorry you hurt your head. I hate when I do something like that and I do all the time.

One time my daddy was restoreing an old neon clock. He was working on it in our living room. He accidentally shocked himself. He threw the tool across the room. The old man that lived across the street was in the living room watching my daddy fix the clock. He asked my daddy what happened. My dad told him that he had shocked himself. The old man was hard of hearing and kept repeating the question and my dad kept repeating his answer. Finally my dad yelled, " I shocked the s**t out of myself!":rotfl2: The old man didn't ask again.:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I hate when I hurt myself and I can't talk and someone keeps asking whats wrong. I just wanted to tell you this little story to cheer you up.:flower3:

Thank you for that story. It made me giggle out loud!! I hate it when I hit my head. It makes me SO mad!! Then I cry and then I get more mad because I'm crying. It's a vicious cycle. :sad2:

Thank you Ariel. The day just got longer. Not better, just longer. But I survived.
So glad that you got to go away with Nick. It's nice to just get away sometimes. I'm getting away with my mom and sister in Feb, in Chicago. Can't wait!!
I hope your photos upload soon. Do you ever wonder why it takes so long??

Thank you MeMom for the advice. Unfortunately I couldn't do that. DS had a basketball game at 4:45 and had to get ready for that, and well, it was just one thing after another.
I'm glad that you are feeling better. The only thing that hurts on me know is the place where they gave me the shot in the corner of my jaw. Thank goodness. So done with pain!!

Oh can't wait to hear about your Chicago trip, that should be good. Recently I have decided I really want to visit there so can't wait to hear all about it. Thankfully my photo's are done now so I have started my report about Nick's birthday, but it does take forever doesn't it? Getting back from Disney is the worst, with all my thousands of photo's to sort through :scared:

I know!!! Last time the family went to Disney, I think I had like 400 pictures. I had to make 2 12x12 scrapbook albums! It took me forever. My plans for photos next trip are hidden Mickey's and I think I'll follow another DISers idea of light fixures. Something different.
I hope you make it to Chicago one day. I love the skyline!! But, go in the summer or spring so you don't freeze your butt off. It's supposed to be below zero there this weekend. Brrr...
I'll be over to your TR tonight to see how things went!

400 pictures, thats nothing, we came back with nearly 2000 last time . Did you make proper scrapbooks or just put your photo's in a scrapbook. I am looking for some new ways to do things so am interested what others do :)

Is Chicago really hot in the Summer and is there a lot to do there? I hope your planning on getting some pictures for us to look at :thumbsup2

OH MY GOSH!! Chick!! I am so sorry about your day yesterday!! I hope today was a better one!!!!

I remember when I had some dental work done one time! They had to give me 4 shots and I went to my softball game to watch since I couldn't play. Well, I was thirsty and was drinking a Mt. Dew. I had to pull my bottom lip out to get some drink in my mouth and I felt like my shirt was wet. I looked down and I was drenched!!!!! My mouth was so numb that it was just pouring out of my mouth down my shirt!!! I was so embarrassed!!!:rotfl2:
