There are no sharks at WDW, so let's go!!!

I called my sister on Friday to tell her that free dining was being offered to Disney Visa card holders, knowing that she is a card holder. They had a trip booked in Sept anyway because I told her that that's usually when free dining is offered. So, she called Disney, called me back and said "thanks sis! You just saved me $800 bones!" WOOHOO good sister points for me! So, not sure why my print is like this, but oh well.
So, now I tell sister about making ADR's and she said that the CM told her about that. She has no clue as this is her first trip there, so I offer to plan her meals for her! Woohoo!!! I get to plan and get frustrated like I've never been before. We have never gotten free dining nor do we get the dining plan. Just too much money right now. I'm really looking forward to making her plans. Now I just have to wait for the Sept hours to come out. And I'm trying to talk DH into a long weeked at Disney, for maybe just the two of us, during free dining!

You definitely get good sister points for saving her that much!
Planning her meals will give you a nice little Disney fix, too.

I have not done the Dining Plan, either. Jill and John did it on their October trip and had no problems, but on my March trip, I was behind people in line several times who were having issues with what they could and couldn't have, and it was backing up the lines while they figured it all out.

That long weekend at Disney sounds like a great plan. I hope he goes for it!

Thanks MeMom! I hope I get the trip too!
The dining plan sounds like a great way to enjoy A LOT of restaurants and food. I'm just hoping that I can get hers figured out so that there's no confusion. If my family were to do the dining plan it would cost me $1400!! I know I wouldn't normally spend that much on food. Just seems like a lot of money to spend on something that will only last for so long. I'll get to all the restaurants at Disney, I'll just have to do it a couple at a time! Just gives me more reasons to go back, right??

Good sister Points!!:banana::banana:
Have fun planning her meals,

When is she going and where is she staying?

I will keep my fingers and toes crossed that you can talk you DH to a weekend during free dining.:)
I be on the phone at 7:00 a.m. to book my free dining, Keeping my figures and toes crossed and doing the "free dining dance" :dance3:That I'm able to book it tomorrow.

OH NO not "good sister" points, "awesome, wonderful, stupendous, magnificent, great, amazing, best there is, sister points". $800 is fantastic. I am going to see about planning a trip for Dale and I for our 22nd anniversary end of Sept, first of Oct. Just for a long weekend, like 3-4 nights.

Free dining definitely is an awesome deal. I have to keep reminding myself that we've already decided against going this September. It is so tempting. I think a couples weekend during free dining would be great for you two.:goodvibes

So, I want to know what souveniers do you like to buy when you are at the World?? That's my question of the day.

Simple answer: EVERYTHING :lmao:. Seriously, I am such a tourist when I hit WDW and have to have everything that I see that I like, I seem to have no control :rolleyes1. I suppose it doesn't help that I am a major collector and have a long list of things I collect including shot glasses (I have SO many), fridge magnets (again I have loads), pens and keyrings (not something I intentionally collect but always end up with loads), souvenir glasses, a new photo frame and photo album each trip, and a Disney Classic Collection (have to limit it to one as we have to try and get it home again in the hand luggage, not an easy task ).

Yay for good sister points!

I think a weekend trip for you and hubby during free dining is a great idea!

Have fun making the plans and ADRs. It's a lot of fun! I just try and make a little "cheat sheet" about what you're allowed at the different places as to not hold up lines or things like that. I still manage to get confused (imagine that!!) but it all works out in the end. We also have our Tables in Wonderland card that gets us 20% off anything else we purchase which helps save even more!

That's what I was thinking too!! We celebrate 19 years this year and I was thinking about a long weekend. Maybe if he doesn't go, I can go. ;)

Stay strong sister! It is SUCH a good deal. Don't know if I'll be able to pull it off, but I could at least book the package. If I don't go, I'll cancel 45 days out and get my money back. No harm done.

You are the perfect tourist Ariel!! I would love to be a tourist like you and bring home all of those goodies!! You always have the best souvie pictures!!

Working on my itinerary today. I figured it's time to get something written down.

YAY! To me, that's exciting - actually planning the trip itself; ADRs and parks and all that. Oh I hope we go in Sept! :rolleyes1 If not, you'll have to have a super great trip so I can get my Disney fix through you and Grace! :rotfl:

Thanks :goodvibes, although I don't think its a good thing for my bank balance . I am pretty much the same anywhere I go (say the Smoky Mountains for instance lol), but I am the worst at Disney as its my 2 favorite things together. Just add in some cocktails and I am set :cloud9:

I hope you get there in Sept too! How do you think I survived last year? Living through others' reports.

:rotfl: So where and when is your next adventure?

:rotfl: So where and when is your next adventure?

I don't know where our next big adventure will be yet, we are still trying to figure out when we can get the time to go somewhere and also where :confused3. However, we are going down to Cornwall for Easter weekend which should be fun, and then we are off to France for 2 weeks in the summer with my family so at least we have something booked.

Alrighty then! So here is my tentative itinerary!!

June 16 Arrival Day
June 17 DTD- Morning
DHS- Evening (EMH)
June 18 Epcot- all day (evening EMH)
June 19 MK-all day
Breakfast at CP 8:15 (woohoo Main Street)
eat lunch at the resort
Back to MK for (evening EMH)
June 20 Epcot in the morning
monorail over to MK for lunch at TTS
not sure about evening
June 21 Relax Day at resort?
June 22 DHS- Morning
AK- Evening (EMH)
June 23 MK Evening (EMH)
June 24 AK-morning
DHS- Evening (EMH)
June 25 checkout day

I plan on going back to the hotel for a couple of hours in the afternoon to soak up some sun and relax.
That's it! That's the tentative plan. I haven't shown this schedule to DH, but he won't really care. If he wants to go somewhere else, then we'll just change. Sometimes things change when we get down there.
Also, we got the invitation to my niece's wedding reception and it's the 26th of June. So, we might be changing some dates so that we can get to Wisconsin for that.

Your itinerary sounds good to me, good mix of park days and some rest. And I love having a bit of a relaxing morning on the first day after a busy traveling day. And DTD is always a good way to begin the holiday, its so Disney.

Looks good -- going back to the resort for swimming and downtime in the afternoon will be a welcome break from the June heat -- we try to do that everyday on our summer vacation.

How wonderful to plan to take that time to relax. Isn't it great to have such a long trip that you don't feel that you need to run every minute?

I agree completely!!

I'm looking forward to it. Especially since it's so cool here right now!

I've never felt like we've been able to it before now. I feel that we've gone enough, now, that we don't have to stay in the parks ALL day long.
