30 Day Disney Photography Challenge - Day 15

A picture of what you do when it rains in Disney World:

When it rains, we put on our rain ponchos and keep going! It is Disney World after all!

That pic of True with her luggage is hilarious! I'm loving all of your pics. :goodvibes

30 Day Disney Photography Challenge - Day 16

A picture of your favorite place to shop in Disney World:

I'm sort of cheating on this day's challenge too because I don't have a favorite place to shop in WDW. I could shop anywhere there! I've actually never shopped at this store in Hollywood Studios (I don't even know its name) but I want to because they have some Disney Couture that I would love to pick up. I love the shirts and the bags and the jewelry and EVERYTHING! I didn't really think about this until now, but it's going to be fun to go shopping with my sisters on this trip! :thumbsup2

30 Day Disney Photography Challenge - Day 17

I fell asleep at 9:30 and now I'm wide awake! :scared1: Well, it's still 2/16 somewhere, so here goes:

A picture of your favorite character in Disney World:

Mickey! Well, technically, it's Tinkerbell, but I already used her as the character that I'm most like. So, to me, asking who my favorite character is seems a bit repetitive. I mean, shouldn't my favorite character also be the one I'm most like? :confused3 Anyway, Mickey is a very close second and my kids and I love seeing him in the parks!

30 Day Disney Photography Challenge - Day 18

I'm so glad a have a few faithful readers but I know I've been slacking on the Photography Challenge because I don't post until late at night. Yesterday, I didn't post until 2am! I fell asleep early last night, but still! So I'm going to try to post sometime during the day so that more people will actually notice that I've posted! Hopefully that will work! For all of you lurkers, please feel free to join in! I lurk on PTRs and TRs too, so I don't blame ya! I'd just love to get you in on the fun! With that said, let me post the Photography Challenge for today -

A picture of your favorite guilty Disney pleasure:

Frozen treats! It doesn't matter what it is. As long as it's frozen and sweet, we want them! Popsicles, Mickey Head Ice Cream Bars, frozen lemonade, Dole Whips... This year, I can't wait to get some more adult frozen treats such as Grey Goose slushies and frozen margaritas!

I love this picture of me and True because True has always wanted to toast everything! She still toasts not only drinks and popsicles but also toasts candy and toasts sandwiches! Wait... That sounds like a bad pun! Yes, we have out sandwiches toasted, but she also wants to toast them! :lmao: Coy took this picture by the way :goodvibes Pretty good for a 9 year old! My baby True looks so little in this picture! She was 5 then and she's going to be 9 in a couple of months!

OK, I went on about three tangents in that last paragraph, so let me get back on the subject with this question: What are some of your favorite frozen alcoholic beverages in the parks and DTD?

That's so cute and sweet that she toasts everything! Coy did a great job taking that pic too. :)

Mmmm... Grey Goose slushies are oh so YUMMY! I had the orange one with Gran Marnier and Grey Goose and loved it- it tasted like a creamsicle! I also had a pretty tasty strawberry margarita from the CS restaurant outside Mexico. I'm looking forward to my kid-free trip with Karen where I can really do more research on this topic. ;)

You had me at Grey Goose Slushies... :lmao:

That picture is adorable! They grow so fast!

Yep, I had a few nitpicky issues with the photo challenge, I just think they could have come up with some better, less repetitive options. But what do I know, I'm just a photographer!

Drinks?!! Margaritas, for sure. I had a couple on this past trip. I also had a Grey Goose slushie and a Grand Marnier orange slushie. They were both good, but I prefer the Grey Goose one! :thumbsup2

I keep telling you they are BOTH Grey Goose- the lemon one has Lemon Citron and Grey Goose and the orange one has Gran Marnier and Grey Goose- trust me, I asked AND looked up the recipes. :rotfl2:

I am still here and enjoying the pictures of the day. I wish I had a Mickey ice cream bar right now.

Thanks! I could go for a Mickey Head Ice Cream Bar myself right now! :mickeybar

Thanks! I think Coy and True both have an eye for photography :goodvibes I can’t wait to try the Grand Marnier/Grey Goose slushy! An alcoholic creamsicle sounds right up my alley!

Yes, I think the challenge is good but not great. You should make up a new photography challenge! Use up a few of those 3000 pictures you took! :thumbsup2

So you did do some research... :lmao:

30 Day Disney Photography Challenge - Days 19, 20 and 21

I'm still a slacker! In my defense, this weekend was my birthday weekend. It was time for me to go out and celebrate my birthday (which is actually tomorrow) without my kids. This coming weekend, I'll be celebrating my birthday with my kids and I have a few fun things planned! So I'll try not to slack and actually post on time! Sorry! The good news is that you get three for one today! Let's start with Day 19 -

A picture of something in the parks that deserves more attention:

I took this to mean an attraction that my kids and I haven't seen much or at all. We've been to The Land Pavillion many many times, but we've never seen Circle of Life. There are actually a lot of attractions in EPCOT in general that we haven't seen. EPCOT is one of those places where we tend to stick to our favorites, so I'm trying to create a touring plan that will let us see a lot of the attractions. Since Test Track won't be open when we go ( :( ) , we'll have a lot of time freed up :goodvibes

Day 20 -

A picture of the best way to beat the heat in Disney:

Fountains and water misters! EPCOT has some really great ones. My brother David and I used to love the jumping fountains outside of Captain EO and so did my kids. I don't have any pictures of those fountains because I was playing right along with them! It's so much fun getting soaked in the water or just touching it and it always cools us off.

Day 21 -

A picture of the best place to take a picture in Disney:

I don't think there is just one "best" place to take a picture. My opinion is that anywhere can be a good place as long as it's before park opening. That is why I had to make sure that I had a few before-park-opening ADRs so I could get some nice shots! The above picture is from when we were waiting for our table at Crystal Palace. The kids wanted to wander around a little and they ended up crossing the bridge and sitting down under that tree. There's no way I could have gotten this picture if we weren't there before the park opened :lovestruc

30 Day Disney Photography Challenge - Day 22

A picture from your favorite Disney movie:

Tangled! My favorite Disney movie changes month to month, sometimes even day to day, depending on my mood. The new Disney movies are innovative and tell fantastic stories while the older movies are timeless classics that are animated beautifully! One of the newer movies that has been one of my favorites for a while now is Tangled. I could go on and on about why I love the stories and the characters... but I won't  We'd be here ALL DAY! This is one of my favorite scenes from the movie because it made me and True very emotional and we both started crying in the theater! It is Rapunzel's birthday (BTW, it's my birthday today and I couldn't have picked a better challenge for today if I tried!) and Flynn has two lanterns for them to send up along with all of the other lanterns at this ceremony. For one thing, it was one of those moments in the movie that made it worth seeing it in 3D. The main reason it was so touching though, was because she saw those lanterns year after year and knew that they were significant - and now she was a part of it all :goodvibes

party: Happy Happy Birthday Erin!!!! party:

Love the pics and you are totally right about pics before park opening! I hope you have a wonderful birthday and celebrations alone and with the kids! Take pictures!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks, Karen! I just changed my signature to say "39" :lmao: I'll definitely take pictures tonight! I heard my daughter talking to my mom about a King Cake since today is also Mardi Gras, so maybe I'll have some bday/Fat Tuesday treats when I get home ;) I'm really enjoying the photography challenge and I'm glad you like the pics!

Happy birthday! I hope it's been perfect and magical. pixiedust:

I  Tangled! We actually got some paper lanterns online to release for winter solstice this year. We really enjoyed it but I still want to do it with a large group to try to recreate this scene! :goodvibes

Thank you! I would love to release paper lanterns for a special occasion one day!

I love Tangled too. I hope your birthday was super special Erin! :goodvibes

Thank you! I had a great birthday!

30 Day Disney Photography Challenge - Day 23

A picture of the Disney character you dislike the most:

Mother Gothel from Tangled! I was commenting on another PTR about how Disney characters have depth (Hi, Hope!). All of the princesses/heros/heroines have major character flaws, but that is what makes them relatable. The villains are also interesting because they usually have at least one redeeming quality or - at the very least - they have a characteristic that makes them seem human. Gothel is a narcissistic nutjob who stole a baby in order to preserve her own youth but in the scene above, she does something that all of us have done at one point or another. She stands in front of her mirror, examining her wrinkles and pulling on her face to see what she'd look like if she had a face lift (or in her case, some of Rapunzel's magic). I'm not the only one who's done that :lmao: Or I'll stand in front of the mirror and suck in my gut, swearing to do sit ups the next day. Or I'll pile my hair on top of my head to see what I'll look like with bangs and wonder if they would cover my five-head enough  Not that this gives her an excuse, but Gothel is coming from a place of insecurity and I think we all can relate to that! In this scene, she also delivers some of the best lines in the film: "Rapunzel, look in that mirror. You know what I see? I see a strong, confident, beautiful young lady. Oh, look, you're here too!" I love that nasty sense of humor Gothel has! She is the character I love to hate!
