Theory about YOAMD

I have a small feeling that even after it's over, Disney will still be giving out stuff like during the YOAMD.

Like you can still get a Cinderella Castle suite, Surprise Fastpasses...

Maybe this is just wishful thinking on my part

What do you think?

Won't happen.
From what I hear, the YOMD is costing Disney an arm and a leg already (as you can imagine it would) so I doubt they will continue to distribut eprizes beyond December 31st.

I can see things like keeping the parks open late and loads of merchandise costing money, but the fastpasses seem relatively cheap. They cost what, less than a penny to create, and they don't ost anythng to distribute.

I can't imagine the Cinderella Castle suite costing that much either...

I see what you mean...once it's built it's built. Still, wouldn't it detract from the Year of a Million Dreams itself if the promotion lasted for over a year? It's a special one time thing. As much as I'd LOVE to stay there, I'd almost rather it was a walk through exhibit afterwards. That way, everyone could experience a little part of it.

I'm betting Cinderella Suite is going to become a 'room for rent' at a premium price. My guess is, it will also be used as a 'celebrity perk' with a few promotional strings attached.

But I'll put money on the remainder of the perks being gone the moment the 'celebration' ends.

I agree things like staying on rides that are prizes now were little touches of disney magic. Last year in May my mom and I got to stay on Soarin' for a second go when it had a 60+ minute wait. Disney has always done things like that and it will continue. I don't expect them to continue to give away merchandise, etc... that would get too expensive.

I respectfully disagree. The value of the various YoaMD prizes is very different from the cost of those prizes to Disney. For example: A Dream FastPass is valued at $5; while the cost estimated above for this prize may be a little low (they do look really nice ), it's probably in the vicinity of a dollar, tops.
Disney already owns the cruise ships. Again, the actual retail value of the prizes is the same as what it would cost a passenger paying full price for that cruise; the cost to Disney is entirely different, and much lower.
Disney owns DVC; their 'cost' is the inability to sell X points times three prizes. Given that DVC continues to expand, this really isn't expensive for them at all.

The total actual retail value of all the official prizes is just over seventeen million dollars; given that the Disney parks had over a hundred million visitors last year, and while this isn't how the accounting is done, it works out to "costing" Disney less than twenty cents of each Guest's park admission.
Even the money for the tax obligation on the larger prizes isn't coming directly out of Disney's pocket. It was accounted for before the promotion started.

As for the Cinderella Castle Suite? Who knows? Maybe they'll use it for Make A Wish and Give Kids the World?

You're not considering:
Prize manufacturing costs, the fact CM's have to be pulled from their current roles to perform local dreams, the pay for the CM's/management of the dream team, the cost of the certified signature-required packages and postage cost to mail the postcard dreams, the cost of the Mickey and Cinderella suite construction, the cost of most of the tier 2 and 3 prizes, the cost of the 3rd party company contracted to make things stay random, and (mostly) the cost to time in that this promotion requires.
