theories on the august 12th big announcement....

I rushed to get home from work to see what the "big" announcement was and nothing!!! Geez, I thought for sure there would be something. My very kind AAA travel agent told me not to get too excited. I guess I should have listened!!! ;)

Anyone else watching the travel channel? I got all excited when they just played a commercial for Disney on the last break? I hushed all the kids when it started so I could hear the "big news". It was just the same old one for getting in free on your birthday. :headache:

If this is a joke- I'm not finding it all that funny :sad2:

Perhaps it was just a ploy to boost the afternoon ratings for the travel channel. :rolleyes1

We are watching the travel channel too. The only thing it is doing is making the kids more anxious to go next month. COME ON DISNEY!! Make some news here!:yay:

Here's hoping something comes out for everyone. I think the 180 announcement is BIG. It should assist in allowing more vactioners to get some reservations.

The 40% is off the rack rate. Taking 40% off the discounted rate would be stacking discounts, something that Disney NEVER does. 40% off is still a bigger discount than 35% so it means more money for souvenirs or extra Dole Whips.

That's what I thought, but reading the pixietwin post, I was confused. It's been a long day, so maybe I was just reading pixietwin post all wrong (known to happen when you sneak into the DIs from work and await an announcement:lmao:)

Still waiting... popcorn:: We Tivo'd the Samantha Brown Disney special this morning and watched it over lunch. Now my DS5 wants to know if we can go to Disneyland, too! :lmao:

I see my dates are now at 96.00 with the 35% off for the general public, does that mean I get an additonal 40% off

Nope. The 40% PIN deal is off of a rack rate, not any discounted one (such as the case of the 35% off).

Sometimes you need to think about it logically. I mean if Disney did let you stack discounts, your room rate would be only $57.60. Yeah, 'cause ANY Disney resort is THAT cheap. :lmao:

Awww Turtle Talk!!! Love that 1! Last time Crush picked my fiance out of the audience, he was named "Swimmin Scott" by the Crush man. How I miss Disney World :sad2:

And I love how Crush dismisses the fact that Samantha Brown said "Gimme Some Fin" they should have edited that part out lol

True. But hey, someone said they got 40% off and free dining. But your right, that would be real cheap. Strangely with all these codes and special offers, there are still moderates available for September, so here's hoping that the rides will be walk on.

When the 4/3 deal was released, it was in the late afternoon. I can remember trying to rush home from work to call Disney. So there is still hope:wizard:

If something does come out today, it probably won't be till 5 or 6. Isn't that when the orginial 4/3 deal came out?

I have lost all hope :( If anything IS announced it probably wouldn't be good through Aug2010 anyways.

Sure they did. Sorry, but I don't believe everything I read on the internet. ;)

I totally agree!!! Here's hoping. :thumbsup2

Now I know why these boards run so slow sometimes, too many DISers spamming the refresh button every 30 seconds. ;)

Yes, for about the 20th time since they originally aired, and normally our TV is never on at this time. My DD10 just keeps asking, "When is our next trip?" "When are the 2010 codes coming out?" "When are you booking?"

Watching it (with laptop in hand) is NOT helping any of us at all, is it?:sad2:
