theories on the august 12th big announcement....

I dunno. Im wondering why we haven't seen anything about this on TouringPlans or Mousesavers? Either way, I am really curious to see what (if anything) comes out tomorrow!

I've been wondering the same thing. Last year we knew about the 3/4 deal several days before it was announced. Even people here knew what it was going to be.

The podcast specifically referred to room rates/package deals and that they were confusing. Maybe "more complicated" is a better way to put it? But they were not referring to the 180 day rule. :goodvibes

I would think it would be a little while before they start the 180 day rule announcement? Does that mean that you could start booking for April 2010 in October? Or that you could book October 2009 as soon as now?? That is confusing. :rotfl:

The return to 180 is going to happen on Oct 27, so I assume that day will be crazy as everyone traveling in Feb, Mar and Apr - through two of the busiest times to be at Disney - tries to make ADRs on the same day. It could be worse than the launch of the new ADR system at the same time the free diners hit the 90 day mark. :scared1: :scared1: I'm just glad that isn't happening until a few days AFTER my 90 day mark. ;)

I got an email today for dates 10/04/2009-11/24/2009. 30% off value resort, 40% off Mod and Disney Wilderness and AK lodges. Think maybe that is it?:thumbsup2

I actually got this offer two weeks ago, so I don't think this is it. Still a good offer, though; we just couldn't go during those dates!

popcorn:: (...although I am really in the mood for ice cream...)

now all this speculation has me anxious for tomorrow morning....

I just went to Disney's website. If you click on specials, they have removed the discounts on rooms specials. Only free dining. So maybe there will be something there in the morning

I noticed this as well, but it makes me sad as it makes me think it probably does have something to do with this year, not next, if they got rid of some of the deals. I could convince myself it had to be for next year since they were already offering room only and free dining for this year...but maybe not ;(

I just went on the special offer area. Everything is still there. Hoping for a nice deal tomorrow as I would love to upgrade to Deluxe from POFQ.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I went to see what a rate for Nov/Dec would be with discounts, if any---and only saw the free dining. :confused3 Maybe that's because they're "up-dating".

Funny thing is, we've never even been to Disney yet (1st trip will be in October) and I'm already anxious (errr, obsessive) about planning/checking/comparing/looking/figuring/etc.,etc.,etc.,:upsidedow

It shall be interesting to see if OR what tomorrow brings...:hourglass

i was happy enough to cancel a planned cruise & book the free DP offer for early Dec a week ago:)

the thoughts of possible discount on room portion would be most welcome!:goodvibes

funny thing was when the above promo was announced we were getting ready to head down to WDW/U for a short get-away & I was worried it'd be fully booked upon our return...was surprised that there was lots of availability our week (believe it's mousefest time too:confused3)

ive been checking everyday to see if POR riverside had opened up, and find myself rather shocked to see there was still availability in all categories

soooo, when does WDTCo usually update the site on day of new promo?

is it worth staying awake & checking after midnight EST:laughing:?

Yes, I can confirm this info. I just talked to reservations and she said I could call on Oct 27 to make my ressies for the last week of February. She also said it would be crazy because everyone traveling in Feb, March and Apr will all be calling the same day and wished me luck and told me to keep calling and try the web. Luckily I'm not planning on doing too many ADRs this trip...that is, unless tomorrow's announcement is about free dining for the winter!

hmm....weird....I clicked on it and I still have all the special offers. Maybe I'll log off and log back on. I know I'm not loading an old page.

will it posted after midnight? should I start brewing coffee? :surfweb:

also, the special offers page is still showing me everything...nothing deleted when i look???

Those of you getting excited about next year's theme...I wouldn't get to excited about it. Not much can top year of a million dreams, as this year's theme evidenced....I would think somewhere along the lines of this years for next.

Just went there again. Still only thing on the special offers link is dining promo. None of the other offers are there.:surfweb:

Will be interesting to see what all the fuss is about - I know I'll be up at the crack of dawn to check it out!

It is surprising to me that you can still find rooms available at virtually every resort for free dining for the week of Thanksgiving. So, wondering if this is a second stimulus package for the fall travelers - adding discounts on to the free dining - or if their target will now be 2010 travelers....:surfweb:

I'm lurking over on the WDW website special offers page and refreshing every so often. Is this 35% off deluxe club level rooms deal new or has it been up a while? I havn't been on special offers page in a few weeks so I may be out of the loop. Also I still have 4 offers on there that are good for this year. Maybe after midnight we will see something but I wonder if thier site maitenece window is same for dining ADR's I hear its closed in early morning horus and opens back up at 6am. Anyone else hear this?
