Melody Thomas Scott and Eric Braeden are on the cover of the latest edition of SOD with the caption "Together Again - Nikki and Victor Make Love.
Victor is being questioned at the police station with Michael at his side about the evidence found in his safe that seems to link him to Diane's murder. Jack and Kyle show up at the station and Kyle demands to know if Victori killed his mother. Victor denies but Kyle calls him a liar and storms out. Jack then lights into Victor. After questioning him Ronan lets Victor go because he is suspicious that the evidence was planted. Meanwhile back at the ranch Nikki is tempted to take a drink. At first she resists but then succumbs right before Victor comes home. He is delighted to find Nikki there and immediately asks her to stay at the ranch with him and she agrees. They then head upstairs where they "make love" (the article's description of what happens between them NO mine LOL!). According to co-head writer Scott Hamner Nikki and Victor "are each other's soul mates.....there is something between them that just keeps growing deeper and more profound over time....so to see them come back together and the need to make that very intimate connection again with each other is satisfying and larger than life and just tells us the love sotry between them." Hamner says not to expect "smooth sailing" between Nikki and Victor. With Nikki still drinking and the investigation into Diane's death to take another unexpected turn for the Newman family there are problems that Nikki and Victor will have to overcome.
Victoria stops by the ranch afterwards and is happy that her mother is home. Victoria tells Nikki what Victor did to Billy. And while Nikki does not condone Victor's actions and is sympathetic to Victoria's pain she does not turn on Victor. She tells Victoria she can understand someone doing something that is wrong for the good of the family - according to the article Nikki is making these comments in light of her fears about hers or Victor's possible involvement in Diane's demise. Nikki's comments anger Victoria who leaves in a huff.
In regard to Nikki reconciling with Victor MTS said in the article that while she personally could never put up with Victor's "heinous" (her word) behavior in order to play the scenario the way Nikki does "I Mel have to come up with certain scenarios in my head to justify Victor's behavior." And the way she tries to explain why Nikki would reconcile with Victor is because that Nikki appreciates the support Victor showed her around her drinking, not judging her and getting her the help she needed.
When asked how she felt about what she knows so far about Nikki's upcoming story line MTS said "LOVE IT."
