The year of Disney

I was planning my Disney theme dinners for family night and read alot of mickey theme party on the threads. I helped my sister in law last summer celebrate her twins First birthday with this theme. We worked so hard so i decided to upload some pictures.

Whats a Summer party without a moon bounce

Now for some of my creations...
These are so simple to make I simply dipped oreos in different colors melted chocolate and bought the icing decals from party city, while the chocolate was still wet i place it there so simple and yet add that detailto the party. So many parents came up to me saying they look really cool.
7714435324_55a2b06de3_m.jpg

Also there were chocolate pops which i think are fun for the kids. They are the long pretzel sticks with a marshmallow on the top. then i dip the marshmallow in chocolate and added sprinkles. For fun I made them look like a bouquet and added jelly beans to the base
7714435592_a4617512c5_m.jpg

I actually have never been to Disney, but i got my inspiration from Disney world, I Googled mickey theme and these chocolate apples. Not as pretty as the picture. but i will be trying the real things come december.
7714435260_de3026155c_m.jpg

The cake. it is not difficult, the only thing i will say is it was black but the icing didn't taste that good on the top layer. Also it isn't fondant its royal icing makes it look like fondant. the shapes are fondant and I bought the premix stuff and cut out shapes and let it dry.

Had lots of fun that day making all of these treats for my niece and nephew!!

I first remember seeing pins when I went to Universal studios in like 2007. Except no one really trades those.
But i thought the pins looked cool and would be nice as a souvenir.

Now researching for December I have read hundreds of posts about trading or reading the trip reports , and the poster does some pin trades. So I ordered pins off of ebay.
I got them for a really great price 50 pins for 18 dollars. They came in some where scrappers, i could tell by seeing all the videos and post on fake pins. Fortunately I have a friend that collects and he showed me which was which. The seller on ebay partially refunded me for the ones i sent back. I really don't think they were intentionally trying to send me scrappers but when there is so many out there. So anyway i cant wait to get down there and start trading. I want to collect The little mermaid pins as well as fastpass and nerd pins. I think they are cute. Here is my starter kit

These are the ones for trading

I know lots of people buy off of eBay and don't really care if they are fake or not cause kids don't really do it to get a pin worth a lot of money but rather for the fun of trading. I feel the same way except if i really were to trade with a pin trader, i would be so embarrassed for someone to tell me that that's a scrapper or think I'm trying to pull something over them.

I also wanted to buy MVMCP pins and holiday pins.

Definitely starting to double guess myself on the ADRs. I have been reading reviews and they have been all over the place. I think just looking at pictures and deciding what to do ourselves is the way I wanna go. I think I want to add a character meal just because we might like it. Hubby thinks its a silly idea but we are both big kids at heart. I told him meet and greets are childish but you playing on your Xbox at 2am on a weekend with your grown up friends isn't childish lol. I am thinking crystal palace or the princess story book dinning but don't know about Norwegian food.

Also pretty excited about the first Disney family movie night. This Friday will be Mulan, making chicken fried rice for the first time. Well finishing up my ADR plans.

Love the other pictures from the party. ADR's are very stressful. I am still working on mine and can't seem to get a final list with dates and times. Love Disney movie nights. Hope you takes pictures and share each night.

ADRs are crazy still deciding but that goodness we are very flexible not having to worry about the kids being with us and being grumpy. Now when bog opens that will open up some ADRs lol. I hear rumors around the boards of the third week of August reservation are opening up.

Been a little while since posting. Life is a little crazy right now.But i had this idea for Disney movie theme nights. So this is the first in hopefully seventeen movies. The movie we choose is John Carter. We have never watched this movie and when I researched what it was about I kept coming up with mars. So I made Mars related theme.
This is Barsoom Smoothie(oj,spinach, banana, green food coloring

The movie was really good, i was not expecting that lol. This was hard because I had no idea what to cook, all i knew was guy from earth goes to mars lol.

Had a blast making the food for this meal.

made fried dumplings with sweet and sour sauce.
Supper easy just bought premade wonton wrappers, seasoned ground beef and pork with Asian spices.

I made pork fried rice (I steamed white rice added egg and soy sauce to favor, then added pork)

Great movie. I love a girl who can be as tough as the guys lol. My favorite part of the movie. What makes me most proud is having you for a daughter. I always cry at that part lol.

Got a little bit of bad news two weeks back and didn't know what to do, I am a nurse and have worked at a rehabilitation place for about 3 years. I went on maternity leave around June and was schedule to go back about one week ago, well when I called I got the shock of a lifetime. They told me I have been terminated and I was technically on maternity leave. I didn't want to get lawyers involved because its not worth it. Anyways I was going to cancel the trip but it was a gift from my husband and he said absolutely not.( I love that man so much)but I did call and downgraded us to all stars resort. It gave me back about 400 dollars so we can put that money aside and use it for extras. I am still excited about wdw and ASM, I never been to wdw so even camping underneath a bridge would be cool to even go. A little bad and a lot of great I am going back to school to finish my masters and I will be done with all schooling hopefully in two years at the age of 26. God closes a window and opens a door truly. I want to share because there are probably hundreds of people going through the same thing. I wanna say you can turn the ugly things into great opportunities.

Some changes to our trip. Due to the recent revelations I was feeling really uneasy about this trip. When the fall discounts came out today, I priced the trip if I have switched to pop and decided to pay oop for meals(TS) We are saving 400 dollars, so we switched. So I have to redo all of my plans, but I am actually really excited. We are actually not changing any of our ADRs but just eating at more QS places seeing as we have quite a few CS meals.

Did a little labor day shopping, I am seriously addicted to shopping but when the prices are just too good to be true, its like heaven lol. Some things I bought for souvenirs so I don't have to carry anything back from Disney plus I have been in the area and even walmart in the area sells Disney items more expensive then a PA walmart. So i headed over to the Disney Store Outlet in Philadelphia's Premium Outlets lol.

Even the shopping bags at the Disney store are too cute:thumbsup2

You have a beautiful family. I can't imagine how hard it's going to be to leave your kids for so long. I guess if you're going to do it Disney is the best place to escape too. It's almost impossible to worry about anything and all of your worries just dissapear. I'm surprised your a newbie to WDW... Reading your plans you sound like a pro. I've been 8 times or so and I feel like I need to ask you for advice.

All of your plans look great thus far! :thumbsup2 Keep up the good work.

Thanks so much it's nice to see that someone's reading lol. I hope that I am able to relax, I love my boys dearly and I am the type of mom that takes a shower and sets the monitor even when I know there fast asleep. When I worked I left them only with my mother and she she wasn't available I didn't pick up extra days. I am looking forward to this really though. I have not has a solo vacation with just me and my husband since 2007, we didn't even get a real honeymoon lol we just went to Atlantic city for three days lol. But I am blessed to be a mommy. I actually wanted to take them, hubby thinks their way to young and promised a family vacation at the shore for next year. P.s your kids are darling!

Love those flip flops and Disney cup. What great purchases. I have a hard time also when there are great prices on things. I can't stop myself from buying it. My daughter has so many outfits for our trip because I can't stop and the prices were just too good. It is very addicting.

I took a picture of one of everything, but in reality I bought about ten of each item, their is something about a Disney sale that you just can't stop shopping. But I promised myself that's it for my sons birthday goodies. I still have two shipments I'm waiting on their both for our Disney trip in December, I bought Mickey ears for my husband and I bought myself Minnie ears and a Minnie Santa hat. The next shipment just has shirts for me and him to wear at the parks and I got those five bucks each. I am waiting for Disney to throw the Halloween costumes on sale, I'll have a buzz and woody this year lol.

When planning this trip I always think.... what am I going to eat? For me I feel like it completes and vacation experience. I have plenty of meals planned both at table service and counter service eateries. I did chose my ADRs from many recommendations, but paying out of pocket really makes you think.....do I really want to eat there, just because someone likes it or hates that place. I chose realistically I know some restaurants if popular are gonna be crowded if it's a character meal it's gonna be noisy. I subscribe to a Disney food porn thread best thing I did for planning my ADRs. If it looked great and got good reviews that's where I made a reservation. Now plans change all the time, for this trip I planned on four table service because I don't want to take too much time away from the park itself. I still have to make a counter service post, we have like 20 for both of us, it's a lot of food!

First table service coral reef- this is a late dinner reservation for 8:30, my husband actually picked this one. He loved the theme and the eating underwater part. I am a diehard seafood fan and there menu looks delicious.

Next up is T Rex at downtown Disney, again I know this is gonna be very crowded but we actually passed by t Rex in may(we visited seaworld,Busch gardens, aquatica). We have 10pm reservations, we are very excited and want to experience the meteor show. This is our MK day and it closes early at 7pm, so this ressie doesn't interfere with park hours.

I was thinking of Sci Fi for our dhs day but cancelled due to just one day here and wanting to do all the rides.

Thursday we are in MK all day including EMH and MVMCP have a nice lunch planned at Liberty( that gooey toffee dessert got me)

Friday we have Ohanna planned, everything looked so good and we got a prefect time during wishes. I picked this because it comes highly recommend, the trade off probably crowded and noisy but I know it will be magical and that bread pudding looks great.

Of course I would have liked to visit a million different places and eat everywhere but there is always next time!!

The best site that I have found after reading the food reviews here of course is thedisneyfoodblog, they have emails and pod cast, I love the way there site is set up, such as 5 best snacks, 10 best QS,

Love the "Your Story" magazine. Where did you order it from?

It was actually a new free promotional magazine from wdw, it came after we ordered a vacation package. There have been several other DISers that have received them all with vacation packages book through Disney

About this shirt, i love it I am puertorican and never have i ever seen any mickey Disney puertorican merchandise, i guess since the cruise ship stop there and all good job Disney.this is also the reason we never went to Disney when I was little, my mom would use all her vacation to go one month in the summer back to p.r. not bad thought one month in clear Caribbean water living at a beach house(my parent first home)

Now somethings exclusively bought for our trip.
first this crossover bag, i have been searching for a cute crossover bag, i fell in love with the new coach crossovers so we went to the coach store at the philadelphia premium outlets they also have Disney outlet as well as a Vera Bradley outlet, there is where i fell in love with this and darling fab hubby told me to get it and encouraged me to get the matching wristlet as well.

So exited for everything!!! Can wait for December, i need this vacation.:cool1:

Hello all, some recent things going on, Unfortunately I have messed my back up,:upsidedow. I pinched a nerve in my back, I have had problems since I was pregnant with Nicholas. So I am bored to death lying flat on the floor for three days now, going to the Doctors tomorrow.
But on to better news Disneyland 2013. We are going fro the first week of may. This will be to celebrate our third anniversary. Our trip to California is for a wedding but we are going for seven days. We were going to buy the southern California city pass. It's only 279 per person. This deal includes 3 day park hoppers plus one day early entrance to a Disneyland park, one day at Hollywood universal studios, also one day at seaworld. This is perfect as the disney part cost 250 by itself this ticket is more then worth it. I was thinking of going all out... So I was planning on staying at The Grand Californian. I was doing the calculations and we could stay for the first half of our trip for 630 for the Disneyland part then we would switch hotels and be closer to Hollywood as that where the rest of the trip is stationed.

Anyways I read or heard somewhere that the average family goes to Disney once every 3.7 years. What's that about I have not even gone once and already have plans for the next two years lol. Also I have decided to take my boys for there first trip to Disney in January of 2014. They will still be free my oldest will be 2 and 11 months and the youngest will be 1 year and 8 months. Plus I can get Jordan his first hair cut at Disney( too cute). I was planning on renting dvc points and getting a one bedroom in AKL. But those family suites at the art of animation, the cars and the lion king suites are so cool looking. I know they will love it. I will also be bringing my nephew which will be 4 and I am trying to convince my sister to come..... Cross your fingers.

Some Pictures new of Us !!
