When we last left off our Foursome was headed on over to Universal Studios. We had pretty much finished off IoA in about 4 hours with the loverly ExpressPass.
Some pics on the way to Universal:

(entrance during Mardi Gras)
Yanis BF spotted a bakery and decided he wanted a cookie and something to drink so while they went into the shop to get their stuff I took a seat to rest my ankle and people watched and caught this lady. This is how not to sit with whatever that thing is:
After the snacks were bought we proceeded to ride the movies. The first stop was Shrek 4D.
(pics from when we went for Mardi Gras)
Heres a funny poster from the queue:
There were more (sort of like the ones from Philharmagic), but I missed them.
The pre-show of this is really long and unfortunately the pre-show MC was really boring and I was falling asleep from tiredness and his monotone voice. Usually the MC is funny, but this guy sucked or maybe I was cranky. Either way it felt like forever before we were actually let in to the theater. It was nice, not something to do every trip, but it was fun.
On our way out we spotted this:
Unfortunately that darn lady walked right in front of me when I snapped the pic.
After this it gets kinda fuzzy but I know we rode Twister and Earthquake utilizing our loverly ExpressPass (which actually came in handy on this side) and then made our way over to ride The Mummy rollercoaster.
Yani opted out again so we left all our crap with her and we bypassed all the suckers with the ExpressPass and were soon fleeing from the Mummy. The queue in this is fun because they have tv monitors all around with behind the scenes with Brendan Frasier (mmmmmm) and how the set was haunted. Its really funny.
After the Mummy everyone was pretty hungry and theres a great pizza place so we all stopped and grabbed some lunch. I had an ice cream because we still had CS
DDP credits to use up and I was planning on eating after we finished up US.
More fuzziness on what we did, but Im pretty sure the next attraction we rode was Jaws.
(pics from Mardi Gras)
Jaws is almost like Jungle Cruise, but with the Jaws storyline; the boat captains are really funny and corny like the JC ones.
We passed where the old Back to the Future ride used to be and saw signs for the Simpsons ride that would be taking its place, so thatll be cool to see when its done, then headed off to ride E.T.
Its so cute and the theming of the ride is done really well, although they need to refurb some of the animitronic models.
We decided to watch the Fear Factor Live show and that was cool. We waited awhile for it and Yanis BF was going to participate, but they had just closed the casting. So we chilled in the shade for the show. It wasnt as bad as the show because they didnt have to eat weird stuff. If the show were like that I would so do it, but the whole eating of bugs is just gross.
After Fear Factor we headed over to Terminator 2 3

. This show is pretty cool, but its a bit outdated now and really needs a refurb or replaced with something newer.
Everyone decided they wanted to eat again and I got kinda mad because we had just eaten and we had the DDP credits that we would be using very soon because we were almost done with the park. I reminded everyone of this, but apparently they were too hungry to wait and bought more food. Whatevah! (sorry had to steal that DM). I was a little mad and I think they kinda got annoyed with me for whining about using the CS credits we had left.
After everyone was done eating
.again. We only had 1 thing left which was the Men In Black ride (think Buzz Lightyear ride). It was really fun and I dont remember having ridden the ride and we had a blast shooting at all the aliens.
That was our last ride of the day and we were pretty much done with US. The Express Pass came in real handy in the shows we were able to use them on, since not all the attractions on this side of the park use it.
We did some last minute shopping (mostly in the bakery) and then piled back into the car and headed over to DTD to use up our credits.
DTD was a madhouse! We eventually made it over to Wolfgang Puck Express and Earl of Sandwhich. I really wanted to try EoS, but none of the sandwhiches appealed to me so I wanted WP, but the line was ridiculous! The EoS line wasnt any better. We wandered aimlessly around for about 10 min. then I just decided to get in line at WP whose line had significantly dwindled down. We ordered our food and took it to go and ate in the car on the way back. I told Yani I was too tired to drive home and she was too, so James ended up driving. We ate our food, it was ok, it wasnt very warm so I was a little disappointed. Yani & James didnt eat because they were full (naw really)! I ended up falling asleep and woke up 3 hrs later when we got home.
We survived 6 parks in 4 days, but were totally exhausted from it. It was fun being with my friends and sharing Disney with them and not having any drama or breakdowns or anything. We had tons of new memories and good times and wanted to go back almost as soon as we got home. Yani's BF never saw the Disney magic and was lured by the dark side of US/IoA, but that's ok at least he got to experience the parks and I understand that Disney isn't always for everyone.
So that concludes the August trip....finally.
Up next a quick trip for the
MNSSHP & F&W festival.
