The leaves have all been picked up and placed on the flower beds. Deck furniture and outside toys put in the shed. The riding mower has been retired for the season and the Halloween pumpkins are in the yard for the squirrels. The grill has been moved close to the sliding door for those freezing nights we still grill food.
I look forward to the first snow that will blanket the yard. Just have to love the New England seasons. :goodvibes

You brought up a few basics, one of which I may add to a page I'm working on for winterizing yards.

I started to add some house stuff, but took that off for now, to keep the page yard / landscape related.

Winterizing...

Winterizing the Landscape

One trick I learned this year, was to spray Good Stuff, the expanding foam insulation in a can, into the squares under valve box lids to insulate the valve boxes containing valves and backflow devices.

Good for you, Kahana-ri! I have to cut back my raspberry canes. It looks like today will be a good one for getting a bit more outside work done!

Bobbi :)

Funny you should post this. We did this on Sunday, after we were dumped with 2" of snow on Friday. It always seems to take the first snow fall to realize it is time to winterize the yard. :)

We wound up getting rain/cold on the day I thought I could work outside. It's nicer today, and so the work is being done. I still have to do something with my asparagus.

:thumbsup2 Thank U Bobbi! I totally forgot about my raspberries.
The pumpkins are out by the back fence for the woodchuck. Course Chuckie won't want them now that they're "old" :sad2: He managed to get quite a few this year.

We've been more focused on our wine grapes. We bottled our first wine this fall. :drinking1
So much to do and so little time before the frigid weather sets in.
