Just spent over $700.00 (including tires, brakes, pads, rotors, tire rod, etc.) on mine in Jan. and Feb.

I sneak into McDonald's occasionally myself! Everyone else likes Wendy's and the closest one is over 8 miles away. I personally love Mickey D's fries!

We don't pay 'dealer prices', our mechanic will work on the car during his lunch break or at home and it sometimes might be expensive, but it isn't as much as it could be...

We spent $600 in December on the car's fuel injectors, that was after trying to have them cleaned and paying $70. We just spent $125 to get the fluids changed and all tune up items done on the truck. I hate to see this next bill If we paid dealer prices I would have to get a second job.

Now the things done on the truck were 'Preventive Maintenance' and I am not sure what fluids were changed...Probaly, transmission, antifreeze, & oil & I didn't know about tune-up..so that's a very good price..

We don't use the dealer mechanics - but small town garages. DH's friend is also a mechanic - but he shut down his garage and went to work for an engine company. The friend did, however, put the new engine in our conversion van for a fraction of what the shop would have charged.

We now have 4 vehicles to maintain! DD is responsible for all repairs on hers and half the insurance - but her insurance alone runs $1400 a year!!!

Yeah - and our son turns 16 next year!! DH has a 2001 Silverado 4X4, I have a 1997 Chrysler LHS - totally loaded. Can you believe that it costs more for my car (which now has 104,000 miles on it) then the pick-up??

Of course DD's 1996 Chevy Lumina is by far the most expensive one of the bunch!
