Wow....here I was worrying that I missed a busy day in the Yurt....and come to see that we're still on the same page as this morning....... where are all the chatter boxes?? ;) ;)

woops....make that an edit....I started a new page :teeth:

DIS was slow today so I gave up trying to post :o

The good news of the day is that we got a call from upper management saying our jobs are at least safe until next year! That's only 3 weeks, but that's three weeks more than I thought before!

Nancy, I got something in the mail today ;) Thank you :bounce: :bounce:

But I had a great time and had fun too!!!! I am more than willing to wrap any and all presents....even Bratz dolls and their crazy packaging!!! Kim, good luck with the puppy hunt....hope all goes well with that. Puppies are such fun!!! I am off to relax a bit and call it a night...I got some great bath goodies in the mail from one of the exchanges I am in and ohhhh if oyu could smell the soap I got!!!! I think I may have to work out some sort of agreement with Gapsode to send soap for whatever favorite American treat she needs.....this soap is heavenly...On that note...off to be a girlie girl and soak in the tub....just me and my new soap!!!!!!

::yes::

As for where the picture was taken..the roadkill thing all a sudden scares me...

Bwaaahaaaa!! I forgot about that!!:o That was at DS's Eagle Scout Ceremony - it was an OA Native American themed ceremony (my DS is very active in the Order of the Arrow, which is the Boy Scout's honor society for campers). The lean-pee is my Dad's - he is a muzzleloader enthusiast and he and DS go to shoots and camp in the lean-pee. The hides are ours..... :D I guess you would be a little skeered, huh?? But tell the truth, Todd, I look more "normal" than you pictured, right??:rotfl:

Liz - holy cow - 5 hours of wrapping?? Do you put on bows and fancy ribbons?? I quite doing that a couple of years ago - makes it soooo much easier! And that soap sounds heavenly!!

Kristy - we were waiting for you - the "Queen Chatterbox"!!;)

5 Hours of wrapping??? OMG!!!! I bet your fingers are tired! I usually just go for whatever looks okay and leave it to be about 20 minutes of wrapping or less ;)

Kristy - we were waiting for you - the "Queen Chatterbox"!!
:rotfl: :rotfl: hey....I resent that comment

5 hours of wrapping....I remember those days....both parents have HUGE families....I got stuck wrapping everything as a teenager..and then had to wrap my moms gifts for dad.

Sent our cards out today!
Liz--We get to see Urinetown in January. We have season tickets, but because of DH and problems we have not been yet.
Bingo!—haven’t played it in a long time. Hope you have fun. Yea! I love pizza.
Got your card today Sherry. Thanks!

Another Yea! for DH and my nephew. Nephew’s Eagle Scout project was finally approved yesterday and he may now proceed with his project. DH has been working very hard with our nephew to get this finalized. The counselor seemed rather “detail oriented” this time compared to other projects we have seen. Oh well, at least he is now on his way.

For 2 VERY SPOILED little girls.....One appreciates it... one does not!! I have NEVER seen so many toys in one household to be opend in one day. Greg's SIL packed one HUGE suitcase just with presents in it for under their tree in the suite at Wilderness Lodge on Christmas Eve. It is unbeliveable the amount of presents they get...none of which are clothes....all toys (And a very lush Disney vacation to boot)!!!! Just so you get the idea here....Randy gave Michele a BMW for her birthday and Michele gave Randy a Mercedes convertible for his....She is getting a baby grand piano for Christmas, he is getting a real Ms. Pac Man game. Although it may sound like bliss....you could not PAY ME ENOUGH to be like any one of them.....unfortunately, the money has had a serious effect on the once nice Randy....or maybe it is his gold digger wife that has done it, but he is not as nice as he was when I first met him...and his own brother agrees.....I am happy to be content and content to be happy!!!! I like my life...most of the time:D

Lily - can I be nosey and ask what the project is?? Is the counselor the one from the Council or just the Troop. I'm guessing the Council - as you have to have approval from them. How many times was your nephew turned down?? When my DS went for his approval - he said at least one Scout was turned down that night - they said he needed more for the project - that had my poor son quaking in his hiking boots - but he [my son] quickly got approval - his project was the construction of an outdoor amphitheater at the local park, consisting of 6 park benches - he named the amphitheater after the former mayor who died of cancer, the man had also been the Webelos Aquanauts and Swimming Merit Badge Counselor to my son.

Make sure you go potty BEFORE the show. If no, you may find yourself wanting to go really bad because that is all they talk about for the whole first act. I knew aI should have went before the show as I have a bladder the size of a pea, but the line was so long!!!! What else are you going to see with your season tickets? We have seen, Chicago, The Producers, Jesus Christ Superstar and have yet to see Hairspray, and Oliver! I am so looking forward to Oliver! as I love the music from that show. We will also be seeing Hairspray twice as Greg wants to see it for his birthday as well. Next show for us is Hairspray...January 14th. It should be a good one!!! I also hear that Rent will be headed this way...I really want to see that!!!! Tck, tick...BOOM was soooo good!! Ifyou ahve the opportunity to see it...do!!! Enjoy Urine Town....it is comical!!!

So if we YaYas make it by Christmas, where are we going? Is it too soon to decide? At the rate we’re going I guess it may well be too soon to name the new digs.

We missed Thoroughly Modern Millie; Starlight Express; I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change. We are now able to go see Urinetown, Dame Edna, Jesus Christ Superstar (which I saw when it first came around…wowza I guess I’m old!), and then Mame.

Nephew got turned down I think 3 times, for in the opinion of EVERYBODY involved in other Eagle projects very minor things. (including the Scout Master who ended up going with him last week who also counseled my nephew through this project. Nephew is LD and we wondered if this had anything to do with the approval.) It is a person from Council and she apparently had a hang nail for some reason. He is building flower boxes for the county fairgrounds outside the 4H barns where he is also involved in 4-H. So he is doing something back for those that have been working with him in 4-H. It should be a project that they do have to work in order to achieve, I understand, but it just seemed as though he had to keep reworking the thing to death! It seemed that we were going to have to go to someone who had project management software in order to satisfy this counselor’s desires. By now he certainly can put this thing together like the stories of a marine with his rifle. Oh well he now proceeds!

Sounds like the Council Lady was being very nitpicky....:( Does she have a history of doing that to everyone or was she just picking on your nephew? Tell him I said Congrats on the approval. Does he have to go out and solicit the materials for the project?? DS did that - boy did he ever keep a quick lesson on bureaucracy - but 2 lumber yards came through and donated over $400.00 worth of materials!

It’s actually liberating for me because I feel that way too.

Liz—Rent came through here a couple of years ago. We went to see it. DH and I liked it. Now our 2 DSs want to go when it comes back. Not sure if we will all go or not yet.

CS—Usually we have no idea what it is we are going to see. We have decided to “treat” ourselves to a subscription to theater as a way of doing something together during the year. It is something that neither of us had ever done before when we started so it started off as a new venture. We do this now for last several years. No one else we hang with does this so we have a “date night” to ourselves. It’s been our gift to each other for the season. Fun! Sometimes good, sometimes not so good, but always with each other we enjoy!

Liz - and here either one of us would settle for a slightly used Yugo - huh!!!:rotfl:

My fee for wrapping all of those gifts would be an airplane ticket and a room at the WL......;)

Pam, he's been working with folks to donate and sell aluminum cans for the past several months. They are also selling nuts. Also, their troop has donations set up for this type of project, but will only contribute after scout exhausts all avenues. He goes to buy material Saturday.

Sure...whatever you say...:wave2: :duck:

Well, guess I get to talk to myself for awhile :)

Got an Eagle Scout here too. Great project. Gotta remember this was a few years back (I'm old!!). Son wired the computer lab at school so it could be networked (old, out of date school too).
It was a great project for him.

Kristy...let's get chatting :teeth:

I think Elaine said we were going to a spa next. Christmas pampering sounds great.

I bow and ribbon and do all kinds of fancy things to my packages (well, the ones that aren't mailed away) :teeth: I think it is fun!
DS once took 2 hours to wrap one prsent. It was so funny! It looked like a person. He had used empty rolls and boxes for different parts :teeth:

Good night!! :wave2:

I don't know how people can spend that much time wrapping...:earseek:
I gotta hit the sack...It was busy at work tonight...
Tomorrow i'm off and going to the Festival of Lights at the Zoo with the church...

This room smells awesome..SOmeone was burning key lime tonight..:smooth:
