Waaaaaaa!!! Y'all had a party and I missed it!

Second yaya nurse saying get thee to the doctor kim!

Everyone feel better soon.

Bad/good news. DH is getting off for vacation on Friday now. This means he can leave as the same time as us, but means no WDW for me. :( Well, maybe next winter.

Like you I only applied to one school also. Of course I didn't have a choice either. I was paying for college, not my parents. So I applied to University of Cincinnati and lived at home. Then when Steve graduated he was not offered any jobs in the area and we had been dating for 5 years and didn't want to be apart, so I married him and did my last year at Bowling Green State University.

OSU is a great school but when he saw the required classes he knew it wasn't for him(thank you so much high school counselors!) For some reason she just looked at majors and not what they were and then counseled him. Now that he is getting used to looking at college catalogs and required courses(something that we told him to do earlier, but we are parents and don't know anything. Remember the days that parents were stupid) He nows knows a little more.

The first night in the hotel, Chris mentioned the size of OU and how big it was. I told him then that OSU is much bigger and that is something to consider also. I went to UC when the enrollment was way up there and remember my reaction. So that is how OSU was ruled out. He had scheduled a college visit there for two weeks from now and I think he is going to cancel.

I don't know much about U of L, but the director of the school at OU said that it was a good program that is very comparable to OU. OU has had the major longer and may have more contacts but that was it.

FSU is also known for this major and is also bigger. This is considred because of Steve working in Tallehassee.

One thing that impressed me at OU was only professors teach at the college in his major. Freshman year is a typical freshman year and they use TA's or GA's for study groups in the larger lecture classes. Of course those required classes are offered through other colleges.

I am rambling. I hope he can make a decision that he is happy and comfortable with.

today is season set hunt stage 2(either Buffy season 2 or Simpsons sreason 2)

Hi!

Aww Bonnie....i am sorry your solo trip is caput! What a bummer. Yes....um....quite a party last night!:teeth:

College decisions....tough place to be huh Betty? He is very lucky he has choices!!! I know the kids here in Va. just pray for a place in a state school....extrememly competative!!!! My neighbors ds is going thru this now....He is a brilliant kid...IB program...and worried about getting any placement at all.

Elaine...a swap is a Girl Scout "thing"....each letter stands for something but right now that escapes me. They are little handmade things that girls exchange with eachother at camp or other GS functions where there are lots of scouts. Promotes making new friends and is just plain fun! For example: one cute swapI received is a frying pan made out of the screw top off of a bottle, with a wire for a handle...paint it all black (like cast iron) and glue a couple of beads in the pan to represent eggs! Another is a piece of felt rolled up and tied at either end with string or yarn...a bedroll.

Hi everyone. :) Man, did I miss all the excitement last night!! All that champagne and those tasty outifts. :teeth: Oh, and let me say this: nice chaps and.... stuff. ;) :teeth:

Okay, I have to boot my other machine up to record something for DW, so I'll check back in later (I only have one monitor & keyboard for both machines. Kind of makes it hard to have both running at the same time. Oh well. ).
Ya'll be good! Well, if you can't be good, at least have fun!!! :p

Chosing a college is sure enough to make your head spin!!!! Good luck with that and your DS Betty. I don't envy you. I chose where I went because it was the only one I could afford to go to adn live away from home.

THanks for that explanation Jodie! I wound up dropping out of GS before I became an official GS because I was one year ahead of my classmates in it (I had moved). I missed out on all that fun stuff.

Bonnie, sorry about your trip. Why don't you join me in December wen I plan to go :teeth:

All these Tuesday birthdays... that is my brother's birthday too :teeth:

Elaine when are you going in December?? When Carol and Beth are there?? I am going for Christmas but might be able to make a special weekend trip up there if you all will be there earlier.

Howdy ho, all!! Jumping in here quickly. Got all of the paper done except for my column. (what else is new?) Then I need to crack and get the bookwork and invoices done......

Betty,
My neighbor is a freshman at Florida State - she really likes it. Hope you feel better soon.

Jodie and Jennifer,
Boy Scouts do the swap thing too, especially at National and World Jamborees. DS made "slippery rocks" for his swaps. They were a big hit!

Is anyone's child going to Prom this year? DD has her dress and now is on a quest for the perfect shoes.

DS just got back from the OA Winter Fellowship camp. He said he got a total of 7 hours of sleep the past 2 nights. Of course, he sacked right out as soon as he walked in the door. He had a blast and is now a member of the OA Dance Team.

Greetings, hugs, and all that good stuff to all of you!!

Yep, that is the plan Karen. Looking for about the 1st through the 7th. No definite plans yet, but that is when I am looking to go.

Pam, good luck to your DD on her quest for her prom dress. I do remember doing that myself.

Pam what is a slippery rock?? Anything like a worry stone??

Elaine when you firm up your plans let me know and I will ask dh if we could make a weekend trip up there.

I definitely will Karen! I think it will happen then, but I will know for sure in the next several months :)

Second yaya nurse saying get thee to the doctor kim!
Well, it's official.... both YaYa nurses have spoken. I'm headed in tomorrow. Wish I could go today, but the nearest walkin is a 30+ min. drive and honestly... I don't feel well enough to do all that driving by myself. I just have to get through one more night.... Oye.... not looking forward to that.

....and to make matters even worse, my guy is gone from my siggy again. :( Too tired, too sickypoo and no siggy pic... whine whine I think I may just curl up in a ball and cry for the rest of the day. Waaaah..... I need a hug. :o

(((((((HUGS))))))))) I am so sorry you are feeling so poorly. I am glad to hear though that you are going to the doctors tomorrow.

Got DD her birthday bracelet. Got her 4 charms. Her initials, volleyball, and softball. We are going to give it to her tonight because Steve will not be here on Tuesday.

Jodie, DS is very lucky to have all these choices. He has a very good GPA and his ACT score was very good also. He is a good student who is active in school with many types of activities. He is the type who analyzes everything and really takes his time before making a decision and then will second guess what choice he has made. DD is the exact opposite. She is open to everything and is very flexible. She is not afraid to take a risk and if she fails then she just moves on. I sometimes wonder how I have two children who approach life so differently.

Kim I really hope you feel better soon. Don't want a Ya Ya to be miserable for a long time. So have you decided to come to lovely Ohio for the Ya Ya meet this summer? I haven't heard what the headcount is at this point. Just want to apply a little pressure on you. Anyway, if you don't come, we are going to put an Apolo picture on a dart board and take some target practice. Then there is the Apolo Bon Fire. You seem to think he is hot, I just want to make him hotter. Hee! Hee!

Kimmie, I am glad that you are going to the doctor. You need to get that cough taken care of. Let us know how it goes {{hugs}}

Betty, it sounds like your DS will be set when it comes to picking his college. I am sure he will pick the best for him :) And glad you got your DD her present. Sounds like some nice picks :)

I am a big pig... I accidentally ate a pint of icecream this afternoon

I DID IT I DID IT I DID IT!!!!! I got through a whole weekend and stayed completely on my new lifestyle plan!!!! Weekends are usually my worst time. Too many chances to overeat or snack on something I shouldnt have.

Betty Im so glad you were able to get the bracelet today. How are you feeling tonight?

Hi all!!

Wow, Hildy and Rosie were partying last night. Yeah, I think I liked the biker chick with the like bathing suit thingie.

Kim, I am glad you are going to the doctor. You have been sick for way too long.

What's wrong with your siggie, is he too big?

Last but not least....{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}
