Hi Jodie, Elaine, Nancy, Kim, Laura and Karen!

My "party" was great! No lears please ;) I just wrote Nancy that there is nothing better than drinking champagne and cooking dinner with your husband! (Except maybe when he makes you pancakes with strawberries in the morning :) )

Life is good!

Off to Michaels to get supplies for SWAP making tomorrow. Do GS do that by you Jodie? THe troop that is doing our GS birthday event is encouraging the girls to do it. Should be fun.

Sorry your still feeling yucky Kim.... and hang in there Karen....have fun Laura, we still need to get together!

Hey All! I have 20 pages of catching up but just wanted to jump in and say I am back.

DS seemed to like Ohio University. I started feeling lousy Thursday night and spent the whole time while we were there with a head cold/sinus problem. The weather really didn't help because it was cold and it rained the whole time we were there. So I am trying to recover.

So how is everyone?

Hi Betty!!!! Glad you got your trip in....sorry you're feeling yucky! :( How did Chris like OU?

Hi Betty!!!! Glad you are back!!! Sorry to hear you are feeling under the weather. (((((HUGS)))))

I think he really liked it. When we first got there he was overwhelmed. By the end of the trip, he had ruled out two universities that he has been accepted to. This narrows the field between the two that he has been accepted to and one that he is hasn't heard from yet.

I thought the campus would be a perfect fit for him, but what do I know I am just a mom. Ha! Ha!

Jennifer, what are you doing for SWAP?

Hey y'all!

No time to ketchup....getting ready to head out soon.

Gonna go see Kangaroo Jack, then run to a couple stores.

We got more snow last night and its still coming down. Our little walkway in front of the house is a sheet of ice. Hopefully we can get out of here without killing ourselves.

Have a great day all! :)

Hi Betty! Sorry you are feeling yucky!

Kim...get thee to a doctor! I agree with Karen...this is lingering too long.

Jennifer....no leering. It is so wonderful that you and DH had such a nice night. I am supremely jealous.
Oooo....I LOVE swaps!!!! What are ya making?? Do ya'll have swaps hats that you put them on?? My swaps hat is getting very full...time to start a new one! When you go to Savannah with your girls, the Birthplace asks that you bring swaps/crafts to donate for them to make a little extra money. They have bins and bins full of them in one corner of the gift shop and they charge 0.25 - 1.00 for them...it's a busy little corner!

Hi Sherry and Karen.

I will not let this headcold/sinus thing keep me down. I am just grateful that I don't have to spend another day walking in the rain. I am going to take it easy today.

I do need to buy DD a birthday gift. She will be 15 on Tuesday. So what should an Elder Ya Ya buy for a petite Ya Ya? Why of course a bracelet!!!! I am going to get her initials and a volleyball charm for sure.

Kim...get thee to a doctor! I agree with Karen...this is lingering too long.
Yes maam. :( When a YaYa nurse speaks, I listen. :) ....and you're right Karen, I think it is hanging on a bit too long. I've had no fever, nothing icky to indicate infection (ick) but still... it stays and stays. The Phenegren and Codeine isn't even working anymore where the cough is concerned. I slept about 3 hours last night. Ugh.

I just wanted to stop back in to say Hello to all that have checked in. :) Laura, I hope you enjoyed that quiet morning, and hope that you have a quiet evening SO you can relax after that busy afternoon. :teeth: Hello to Elaine, Karen, Nancy and her tulips, Jennifer, Betty, Sherry, Hildey annnnd.... anyone else that's checked in while I was typing this between coughing fits.

Headed to town today.... I need to buy a new surge protector for Monster Baby's computer. I stole his... needed two because some of the plugs are so humungous, a couple of them took up half my protector. :( Also heard that Third Day has a new Worship CD out... gotta get that!!! :p

A bracelet is the perfect gift Betty! :)

Jodie sneated in on me. Hi Jodie!!!!!

We got 2-3 inches of snow last night. DH and DS need to get out there and shovel or snowblow soon.

Betty...a charm bracelet sounds perfect! DAvid's birthday is Tuesday too!!! Great day for petite Ya Yas huh?

No snow here....just WIND!!! Kinda spooky....hurricaine force gusts predicted for this afternoon! And Bob is flying out to Indianapolis!

Betty a charm bracelet sounds like a wonderful gift!!!

Jodie YIKES on the winds. Please stay safe.

Wonder how far a kite would fly in this wind??? Pretty far I bet!!! Hmmmmm....might have to check it out!!!:p

Now if I could just get my butt moving. I have had 4 cups of tea this morning and still using all the kleenex in the house. I think I will go upstairs and take a long hot bath with plenty of steam so that I can breathe. Then maybe I can make it to the mall and get the bracelet without needing a box of kleenex.

That is such a coincidense about Feb. 25. Well, us Elder Ya Yas do have great timing. So what is David getting for his special day?

You all became chatty rather quickly :)

Kim & Betty, so sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well (still and now). Kim, see what the doc can give you. Maybe you have an infection that needs antibiotics. My dad is notorious for getting sinus infections and he let one go so long that he had to get steroids to stop his coughing.

Betty, I hope your sinus/cold thing goes away quickly. So what other colleges are still in the running?

Pardon my no-kids-here stupidity... what is a SWAP??

Been an interesting weekend! I'm not sure what he is getting at this point Betty. Probably one of a long list of PS2 game requests...but Bob won't be home until late on Tuesday so the gift may wait until next weekend.
Have a nice sinus cleansing bath!

Ahhh....sorry you are still feeeling bad Kim.........and now Betty too :(

DH and I had that cough for 6 weeks!! DH has a history of sinus problems, so he broke down and went to the doc....nothing to do but wait it out :(
We used LOTS of Nyquil and Dayquil.

Upstairs if clean :) And we're heading out for the afternoon.
Have a good day everyone!

Elaine, the three colleges that seem to be in the running are Ohio University(accepted and visited), University of Louisville(accepted but not visited) and Florida State Univesity(applied around 5 weeks ago, no visit). The two that have been ruled out are Winthrop(accepted, visited, very small school, major is new and hasn't been accredited yet) and well, how can I say this and not hurt your feelings, Ohio State University(accepted, but the course of study has emphasis on physical education vs the business end of majoy, also felt a little overwhelmed at OU and now thinks size of OSU may be too much for him) His declared major is Sports Industry or Sports Management or Sports and Leisure. Universities seem to call it different at each. They also are all under different colleges at each university. Very confusing so you have to look at course requirements to see what the emphasis is)

Betty, I am not offended by the thoughts on OSU at all. It is a rather large school (always one of the largest in the country... been #1 for many years) and it can be rather intimidating. The one thing I always tell people though that make sure wherever you wind up, you can easily change majors. I've seen many people pick colleges for a specific major and the decided they wanted to change it (either slightly or completely) and then have had to transfer to a bigger college to get a decent major in. OU is a great school though and many of my friends have gone there and loved it!!! It will seem smaller once you live there though, I promise (I felt that way about Ohio State too)

FSU is a good school too... Luis was thinking of going there, but his mother was too worried about him going there. Not entirely sure why but she didn't want him ot go to that place.

Don't know much about Lousiville, except that my sister's future in-laws (don't recall which or what they did) used to work there.

Good luck!! I made life easy. I just applied to one college and stuck to it :)
