..is a Heil Talk Box. It is often confused for a vocoder.

It uses a tube to let your mouth change the modulation of the sound of the electronic instrument. The Guitar mic pick-ups are plugged into the device and the sound travels up the tube. The tube goes in your mouth and you change your mouth to change the sound. The Audio from your mouth is picked up by the stage microphone. It is a very cool effect.

I always stop by the Heil booth at Dayton. I've got a nice boom mic that I used to use for contesting. Great sound.

Great Mike! I'm staying at the JW Marriott the Saturday night. Not cheap but its a Dayton tradition for my local hams.
