The World of Wogging.

I'm actually going to head to a specialty running store to try to find a pair. I am the owner of a pair of "problem" feet. Besides being exceptionally wide from years of ballet, I also have high arches, high insteps and have a neuroma in my left foot which can be exceptionally painful when it gets inflammed.

My attempts to find decent shoes are usually failures. They feel fine in the store, but after wearing them for a bit I'm usually ready to chop my feet off. I actually just bought a pair of Nikes not more than a month ago. Feel wonderful at first, and then I start getting numbness on the ball of my foot with the neuroma. I'm going to suck it up and be fitted by someone with more know how than I have. The extra money will be worth it if I can wear my shoes longer than a 1/2 hour pain free.

OMG - You're feet sound like torture. Good idea to get someone to help you. I have high arches and wide feet too and I can not wear Nikes or Reeboks. That's why I am a fan of Asics. When I had more money to spend on myself I always bought the top of the line, but now I have to buy $150 soccer shoes for my kids! :scared1: My shoe needs are definately secondary.

I wish you luck with your shoes. Get us posted!

I can't say I love running yet, but I don't hate it anymore.

I can relate! That's why I never like to miss more than a week. I know that if I ever stop, I will NEVER start again!

Good job everyone!

I've had a little bit of a set back. My ankles are so swollen and painful. I think it's becuase of my cycle so I am trying to take it easy. I'm going to go for a walk tomorrow.

I looked over the Couch to 5K program and I am not ready for jogging yet. I think what I will do is just walk 3 times a week for now and then take it from there. :thumbsup2

LL: that's a great plan. I know a lot of people who love walking and get really addicted to it. I think you probably get the "walker's high" a lot sooner than the "runner's high"

Thanks MEK! I am just trying not to get discouraged and keep moving! :thumbsup2

Hi Everyone!
I hope you don't mind if I join you all, I'm pretty sure I won't make it to the actual marathon in 2011 (but I can dream, right?) but would love to stay motivated with you all!!:goodvibes

I'm a new runner....I started the couch to 5K about 5 weeks ago, doing okay but it's been 10 day since I have run, although I've been speed walking in the mall with a stroller a couple times this past week. I got a bad head cold, then a sinus infection and I felt like my head was going to pop off my body if I ran on the treadmill and now life has gotten in the way. But I"m determined to continue because I was feeling great and learning that I have muscles I never knew I had!!!!:rotfl: I'm signed up to do my 1st 5K on 5/17, so need to start back up on Monday

Wishing us all much luck with our goals!!!:cheer2:
Kristen

OK, I didn't wog tonight but I danced for an hour at the school sock hop. Does that count for anything? I was a sweaty mess.........:lmao:

My last shoes were Nike walking shoes and I really loved them. These aren't working for me at all.

Nothing wrong with walking!!! Walking is great exercise and easier on the joints. :rotfl: Personally, I love walking. Sometimes I wog, but I definitely walk much more than jog.

Just stopping by to see what everyone's doing today. I am getting ready to run and it is cold and rainy outside. It would be soooooooo easy to skip today! But I'm gonna suck it up cause its got to stay permanent spring soon!

That is dedication, MEK! :worship: I just finished a workout in the basement but it was a workout nonetheless so I am proud of me! Now I just have to keep myself from eating everything in sight for the rest of the day! :rotfl:

WOW!! You do have motivation MEK. The "running around" I do every Saturday has nothing to do with real running :rotfl2:

Hey - the basement's good, too. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 A workout is a workout! Sometimes I run on the treadmill in our garage, but my mantra today was, "Come on Spring!

Yeah, most of my Saturday's are like that, too!

No Wogging, Jogging, or any other non essential movement of body parts for me today! I hope everyone has a great day! Happy Easter to those who celebrate!

I haven't done any exercising this weekend. My ankles are just now feeling better. I'm going to go for walk tomorrow either in the morning or after work. I haven't decided which yet.

I'm glad your ankles are feeling better today! Walking is great for the ankles. I know mine hurt a lot the day after a run. Update us tomorrow on how you feel.
