Patch Day!

WOOT!! Last night I managed to get my Ambassador on my paladin..I wanted to get it in because the new meta will now require either Gilneas/Bilgewater..so I wanted to get it done...

I am now Ambassador Daxan!

Yay!!

I am really looking forward to the rez with soulstone!

:banana::banana::banana:

I hate patch days... Usually I have issues getting it to DL.... Though I think my problem is my Kapersky security software.... but I hope I figured out what I need to do this time to make it go smoothly.

That takes a lot of effort, right? Because I used to belong to a guild that wouldn't even give you a promotion until you had that title ( though I was an officer and didn't have it ).

I know people really complained about that policy.

[ ..... It can be hard to find good raiding guilds on a RP server.

I don't know... and the reason I say that is that the RP servers I am on, well, nobody ever RP's. And I am in a really good raid guild on Scarlet Crusade, though I don't raid. I'm only in that guild because the GM and I are WoW buddies for about 4 years now.

My warlock (and my guild) will be very happy with this since our resident druid has forsaken that toon for a mage alt.

Grats! I love new titles! How many reps does that take?

Patch Day!

I especially hated patch day this last session in school. Normally, I take my a laptop with me to school when I have a lecture class, so I can farm. Well I didn't pay attention to when my class was, and it was on Tuesday. I can't sit with my hands still. I have to be doing something. When I watch t.v. I knit. It drove me nuts, so I just worked on FB apps like Farmville or Cityville, or looked through pics on the DIS.

I usually am up to date on changes, this patch I am clueless. Been way too busy.

OT of heroics. I hated LK. It was way too easy. Cata to me is like Vanilla.

LK took very little ability to get gear. Cata requires CC, timing, thought about using those AOEs.

It makes you think about what youre doing, and not just spam, a rotation.

If you use that avenging shield, you may break the sheep or sap. You have to line of sight pulls again. All those little techniques that make running a heroic hard. People are QQing more because tanks are doing the ole chain pulling without regard to mana, then QQing the OOM healers inability to heal. Pugging has become more about hoping others will get you gear, Tanks are holding instances hostage. DPS pulling mobs and QQing cause the tank didnt pick them up.

On one had, I blame Blizzard for catering to the entitlement attitude on the boards. On the other hand, I blame the kids who just want to have end game equiped toons without effort to epeen in front of the bank on their uncommom mounts

---

I actually had a tank tell my healer that we run it his way or he wont tank. I tell him Im OOM and he says, innervate noob. I respond, its on cool down noob cause you didnt allow me to get mana. He then tells me not to heal anyone but him. I wont tell him who to tank, he doesnt handle who I heal.

I then whispered the group that I wasnt going to heal him anymore and next pull, to right click and exit dungeon but not group.

While doing this Tank was ranting about my healing skills. He then pulled, and all 4 of us left the instance. We all saw him die and drop group. Got a tank 5 min later.

---

This is what makes the game bad. People blame blizzard because this moron thought we were there for his needs. Sorry, Homey dont play that. I will wipe you, and LOL as I drop.

LK wasn't easy when it first came out. It got easier the farther into the expansion we got. The gear wasn't there at the beginning. So to say LK heroics were too easy is true, yet misleading. It wasn't always easy. You used to need CC and timing when LK first came out too. There wasn't always ICC to get that 1337 264 gear that made cruising through heroics such a faceroll. Or have you forgotten that?

Like Colleen, who basically said, sorry I can't do anything because I take too much damage when I stand near the boss, so I'll just go over here and twiddle my thumbs til I can. Her guild says 1 melee per 10 man, because healers just can't handle the damage being taken ---- yet. But let a little gear start flowing and those rogues will be welcomed again.

Also, I have run my share of dungeons, both heroic and regular...and I haven't seen any tanks chain pull like they thought they were in Wrath. And I haven't seen any DPS pull a mob and QQ when/if the tank doesn't pick it up. Yes, I know there are idiots out there, but the way you talk, it's like you think there's an idiot pulling in every dungeon, that tanks don't give a crap if they die because the healer was OOM, and that's just not the case.

If that's the case, you're basically calling me, Daxx, Colleen, Wookie, and quite a few others in this thread idiots because we say heroics are hard.

Not trying to start trouble or tension or anything, but seriously, we all say we're having difficulty, and explain why (too many melee, too much AoE damage, etc) and you're basically accusing us of trying to AoE, chain pull, and sleep our way through it (because all you need to do is pay attention, right?).

dngnb8, That is the main reason I don't want to make my spriest a healer. I can't even begin to tell you the number of times I've heard DH complain to his computer "well you wouldn't die if you wouldn't stand in the stupid stuff on the floor." His main in a hunter, but his secondary "main" is a resto shammy that he raids on sometimes more than the hunter b/c of guild needs. I just keep telling him to not heal them, but he has limited control (if any) where his chain heal goes. Not really sure, b/c I haven't raided with the toon.
I remember when I had to sheep and it seemed that the same person would break my sheep time after time with the same ability. I would get on vent and say (vocab edited for a Disney message board) " X player, the next time you break my sheep using X ability, I won't resheep until that mob kills your stupid rear-end."

He's not the only one who yells at the monitor! :rotfl2:

I have a spriest myself that I've been leveling and I really don't like healing. When my guild groups up it's ok, but random pugs just kill me to have to heal stupidity.

That reminds me of something Ron White (I think) says..."you can't fix stupid". Well you can't heal stupid either. I have never healed in WoW, but I did in Aion and liked it. If I ever heal in WoW, I will never heal a pug. I think I would end up throwing my laptop across the room.

Tanking is no different..LOL...some pugs are not worth tanking..

I yell at my monitor too!

I don't blame you Dax. Back when I tanked if the same person kept pulling aggro, I would just stand there until they were taking a dirt nap. I stopped when I started having nightmares about tanking. My CC at the time was kinda scary, and even if I did a good job, I had nightmares about him either chopping my head off or putting me in a paddy room. I just stopped tanking, and changed her to fury. However, that was a long time ago. The Eye was the "big" raid instance people were doing.

I REFUSE to tank if ppl pull, and will usually tell my healer which is usually my DH, to NOT heal them. They either stop and we move on, QQ a lot and keep doing it, or just get tired of dying and drop grp. I love the people who tell me I am a pally, I can get aggro back easy or whatever...or its a low level dungeon so who care...meh..I say good skill for later..

So...we are a day after 4.1....thoughts?

After missing most of the extended maintenance mess due to being at work, the patch downloaded OK. I read that both Recount and DBM were having issues and at that time had not been updated(they are both updated as of this morning), so I disabled them, and jumped in. Checked out the vendors, changed some Honor points to Justice, bought a shiny new belt, then logged into my NE hunter that I had not touched in a bit. Did some BG's and a few dungeons..

The LAG!!!!! OH MY!!!:surfweb: I would be in the middle of AV, fighting, and everything would FREEZE for 20sec...by the time it unfroze, I was dead...it was bad..really bad...but I kept playing...hopefully it gets better soon

Yes, the lag!!! I wouldn't dare try the new dungeons with lag that bad. Some people were saying that every time they went in them, they'd get the Blizz boot.

It was funny for a while with the DK's being broken. Their runes weren't being consumed properly -- Death Strike Spam FTW!

I did the new Stranglethorn quest line. Pretty straight forward and simple. Checked out the new glittery spell effect for holy word: sanctuary (pretty!). It was a pretty lazy night. Just waiting for the lag issues to go away.

No dungeons for me, yet... and no lag. But I haven't played much.... been really busy. Heck I just did my 3rd LK dungeon with this mage 3-4 days ago.

As for standing in the fire / ooze / whatever... well I have been known to do it because I don't even notice it. I'm more focused on the actual fighting. I am absolutely amazed when there are people who can tell other people that they forgot a certain buff, or to take a certain buff off. I would NEVER notice that kind of stuff. LOL, I have been known to keep Crusader aura on in dungeons because I forget to switch.

Personally, I think there should be "hardcore" servers, where all the know it alls who like to yell at people can go play among themselves in their own perfect - godawful - worlds. Some people just want to play and have casual fun... I actually bet that is the majority of players.

I am the buff watcher, lol. Not only do I keep track of all the buffs, I also make sure everyone has their food buff. During guild runs, I take it upon myself to provide and monitor that everyone has the foodstuff their class needs. I even keep an eye on who the lock puts DI on and things like that. I even coordinate with the shaman and his totems (no need for wrath of air totem with a boomkin or spriest, for example). I bring along runescroll of fort2 if we have no priest in the group. I just feel like taking a minute to check them will make our lives easier in the long run.

Cuddly: Even if there were hardcore servers, you'd still get them in your random LFD groups. Just depends on your luck. Those hard knobs certainly like to make their presence known, don't they? They can be so anti-social. You can totally give someone a tip or trick without being all "L2P noobsauce!"
