I thought Blizzcon was always in California. For me it's opposite. I could drive to Blizzcon because I'm in Vancouver (BC).
Now I have a separate question. I only know 4 other people who play WOW right now. I only started a month before cata. My Bro and SIL both recently closed their accts and she is playing RIFT now. The 4 other people are on 3 different Realms from mine. I am on Silver Hand. There are on Bloodhoof, Cenarian Circle, and
I desperately need a guild so I can experience other parts of the game I can't do solo. I have soloed my Hunter Yassasin) to 71 now but its very lonely and I know this is a social game.
The Hunter is on Alliance but I am also planned to start a Horde character.
Any ideas?
Gina.

I am currently playing Foradin or Cayan for the most part. Trying to gear a tank and healer and so is the guild leader. This way we always have quick Q's for raiding. Im more of a pvp fan though. M-Th we typically are in Tol Barad doing the dailies etc.
we are a level 16 guild, full bank slots, ventrilo, with no real specific game focus. We arent scheduled raiders etc. We just get on, do something and have fun. Sometimes we schedule a raid (rarely). We help people when we can, but we dont escort people. We believe that escorting does more harm then good. We would rather you learn your toon so when you do raid, you dont wipe the raid.
Brewhaus is an extremely helpful, fun, low key, sarcastic guild. Many of us have kids in the game although during the school year, they arent on much (homework). When kids are in vent, we monitor the chat. When theyre not in vent, well, the chat can get a bit racy, but it is all in fun.
We have the opinion that when the game becomes a schedule, and people start QQing about raids etc, its not a game any longer. In short, you pay your $15 for your fun, and it isnt up to us to tell you how to have it. Send a whisper and say hi if you wish. Let me know what classes and specs you have and I can friend you so if we're short a slot, we can look you up. If youre not guilded, check out Brewhaus.
This has been a paid advertisement for Brewhaus......
Hi Gina
If you wish, I can get you in touch with a guild on Silverhand. I have an alt on that server and my daughter plays with some friends there.
Also, if you dont my the $25 transfer, come to Whisperwind and look for any of these alliance toons
Treznak
Foradin
Cayan
If any are online, send me a whisper and I will introduce you to Brewhaus.
We have vent, and have male and female players.
Copied rather then type info about Brewhaus
The blues said that they wouldn't say that it would always be in Cali, just that for sake of logistics, it will always be near a Blizz office, so that set up and rehearsals wouldn't make them send their people across the country, which would make normal day-to-day operations more difficult. I'm hoping that one of these days they make good on that offer.
MMO Champion says the 4.1 patch will be this week.
This is a bit of a wild patch -- new lvl 85 Stranglethorn quest line, 2 new H dungeons, DK's and Locks getting battle rez, etc.
Opinions?
Ah, the LK days...how I miss them!!
I totally understand what you mean. This new expansion has been difficult for casual players. But LK was difficult when it first came out too. I'm hoping that given a bit of time it will even out.
Our guild queued up for a heroic last night. Grim Batol. We were in there forever and couldn't down the second boss. It's embarrassing. We tried everything. Had our warrior tanking...didn't seem like heals could keep him up. So we switched and let our more experienced DK tank. The AoE damage was everywhere and kept killing us. So we decided to go with 2 heals. That just meant that we didn't have enough dps to kill him. We finally ended up giving up after many attempts where we kept altering the game plan, hoping something would work.
As far as the gear, I think the gear currently available for Valor points will be moving down and be purchasable with Justice points, so that may help a bit. But I'm not positive if that's this patch or the next one.
But it's truly disheartening when you see 3 dps pulling over 12k, a tank totally holding aggro and a healer healing their butt off and you still can't manage to stay out of the bad stuff and stay alive long enough to kill the boss. I hate that dungeon anyway.
Some of those encounters really are painful. The part that annoys me the most is that the regulars we could do with 2 hands tied behind out backs while we keysmash with our noses. Take that same dungeon on heroic mode and we're there for hours and feel like we have to get lucky to get through them.
Don't get me wrong, there are a few heroics that we don't have probs with. I like VP, LCoTV, and HoO. But if I see Stonecore or Grim Batol on my loading screen I /wrist.
I guess the point I'm making is that there doesn't seem to be much of a middle ground. Regs are faceroll, Heroics make me cry. Which means I don't want to do either of them.
And I've totally missed the holiday. Didn't even notice anything different going on.
I am all for difficult encounters...but I am finding the encounters in Cata just downright BRUTAL. There is no reason you should have to work THAT hard for the dungeons and heroics...I don't know..I will stick it out for now...plan to log in tonight and do some egg hunting, and we shall see what 4.1 brings..
I'm taking a bit of a break from the game ATM, partly because of in-game frustration. The Cata heroics and raids are not just brutal, they're very melee-unfriendly and as a non-plate melee DPS my main is on the outside looking in more often than not these days. The original plan was to keep our LK raid team together, but that group has 3 melee and that's just not workable in the 10mans right now.It has gotten really frustrating, and while I do have alts I don't like any of them as well as I like my rogue so the thought of gearing one of them as my raiding main is completely unappealing.
I usually take summers off anyway, so I'll see if I feel like going back once the kids' baseball season is over and I have more down time.
I haven't done many Heroics, but my DH keeps telling me they are nothing compaired to what they were on beta. He was lucky enough to get a beta key and was on it non-stop. Any time I do one with him, he keeps reminding me how much harder it was on beta. I had to finally tell him that if he said that one more time, I wasn't doing any more with him.
That very well could have been our problem last night. We had a Warrior tank, DK, rogue, shadow priest and holy priest. As the spriest, I was normally the last one alive. The 2nd boss of GB has so much AoE damage that our DK was complaining that he couldn't do anything, his dps was suffering because half the time he wasn't even near the boss because he was trying to stay out of bad stuff. Same with the rogue. My dps was suffering because there was so much damage being taken that I was throwing up heals as much as I could while trying to keep my dot's up. Maybe if the others switched to ranged toons we could have done better.
LOL @ your hubby! I'm glad I wasn't on Beta...I wouldn't have gotten anything accomplished. I can barely get through them now. And sometimes I can't even do that.
