I am confused about the whole snack situation. I have read that it used to be that a "snack" according to the DPP definition consisted of things to eat that are $4 or less.
Is this still true or has the new 2008 DPP reduced innocent snacking to bringing a ruler and scale on vacation to measure and weigh possible snacks for a CM nod of refusal or acceptance.:lmao:

Basically what's the 2008 snack rule?:confused3

The 2008 DDP has refined 'snack' to mean 'snack' - a single-serving item intended for one person.

Which means you can't anticipate being able to use a snack credit for a box of doughnuts, a bag of candy, a 2 liter bottle of soda (as was permitted in the past).

Yeah - and it means I can't get the 1.5 liter bottle of Dasani with a snack credit any more, either... :( That was a great deal!

That's basically it....in a nutshell!!

So it's not if it's under $4 than it's a snack anymore?

It means that the old rule of thumb, anything under $4.00 is a snack, is no longer accurate.

Basically it has to be a single serving item in order to be a snack, but the best bet is to look at the list on the snack thread to see exactly what is a snack according to other Dis'ers who have been there.
