We are flying so I won't get to pack as much as I would like.
I was even thinking of shipping down some breakfest foods and bottled water.
Is that crazy?

Not a crazy idea at all, many guest have mailed goodie boxes to themselves.

Just make sure it doesn't cost more to mail the box then just purchasing what you will need at the Mercantile. You could just take an extra bag on the plane with your food items, that would give you room to pack any new souvenirs for the return trip.

Jennifer,

Thanks for the additional review about any noise that maybe heard. Just because the trucks didn't bother my group they could be annoying to other guest. ::yes::

We are always up early and out of the room, naps are just a luxuary if we take them not a requirement for little ones anymore.

I'm really appreciating all the recent discussion on views & noise levels. With the 4/3 offer we booked WL woods view, my DH is a fairly light sleeper, I'm thinking early AM truck noises would disturb him. (And if he was woken at 3 or 4 AM he'd be up for the day at that point & would eventaully be a cranky monster!)

So my question regarding requests, is there any request you think I should make besides "a quiet room." Or conversely, anything to stay away from? I'm thinking the woods view rooms on the north side of the resort would not be good for us, unless it was at the far end of the resort. What do the experts all think?

My Dsis (14) will have charging priv. I would be too afraid just in case not to let her have them and we will have the DP so she can use her snack credits however she wants.

This is what happened to me many years ago, when traveling with my teenage nephew, this was before everyone had cell phones. I always made reservations at The Coral Reef it's my nephews favorite restuarant.

There were about 12 of us including my 15 year old nephew and his girlfriend (first trip with GF) we planned to all meet-up for lunch. When we arrived late for our ADR there was no sign of my nephew and his GF, so we asked to be seated without them. As we were being shown to our table we pass my nephew and girlfriend already being served. I asked him how he was planning on paying for his lunch :confused3 he said with my room key. He didn't want to miss eating at the Coral Reef, when we didn't arrive he remembered he could just charge his meal.

With such a light sleeper I would request a "Quiet Room" in the South Wing 6th floor overlooking the Villas. These rooms would be the quietest at the Lodge.

I have found that after a day at the Parks my group just pass out never moving until the next morning.

Because the Lodge is a very Family Friendly Resort they do have quite a few connecting rooms that are located through out the Lodge.

I have never seen any list of rooms that are connecting. I have stayed in many that where connecting with a Woods View.

Beckie

thanks, beckie! you are a treasure :flower3:

another option would be to look into garden grocer. I believe their grocery delivery service fee is $12 which is about what you would save on a case of water alone. Also you don't have to worry about your items being damaged in the mail.

Hello all! So excited to be heading to the WL for Christmas as a grand gathering. we are celebrating my parent's 50th wedding anniversary and I've booked them a courtyard view room requesting inner courtyard view off lobby. Quick question....does the WL offer turndown service or anything special along those lines by request? We are used to having it at the GF, but not sure if it's available here for non-club level guests. Thanks!

I'm mailing down our food and some other "light" things, but having a case of water shipped directly to the resort from Costco.

We used garden grocer the last trip & I would use them again. Free shipping with a $40 order. We ordered 2 cases of water (Aug trip for 5) and a few boxes of breakfast bars & some laundry detergent. We brought only carry-ons so this worked great for us!

swald

This would be the views from the Inner Courtyard View Rooms off the lobby.

Just a short note to say thank you to all who have contributed to this thread. It was a great help in planning our stay at the Lodge.
We stayed 10/17/08 - 10/25/08 in room 6123

This was our first stay at the Lodge, I don't think it will be the last!

The theming is superb, the cast members were helpful if we needed them, and mousekeeping was great. My children were left loads of towel animals (at least 2 per day)

We ordered some gifts for the children from Disney Florist and they were waiting in our room when we checked in, with nice notes from Mickey & Minnie :thumbsup2

We had great views of the water parade, the kids just had to be in the room for 9.30pm every night to watch it.

If anyone is interested in some photo's you can see them here (you will have to excuse the rest of the holidays snaps ! )

Does anyone know what beer selection they have at Crockett's Tavern? I'll be staying at WL for the first time in January and one of our rituals is to try a new hotel bar/lounge on each visit. But I have no idea if it's worth it to spend time going over to Crockett's if all they have is a limited selection of Bud products.

Thank you MagicinmyHeart for your quick reply!

We have a total of three rooms, my parents have a courtyard view booked and we have two connecting woods view rooms. Any suggestions for room requests on the woods views? We want to be close to my parents, so should I just leave it to chance?

Also, this is our first Christmas at Disney. Does anyone have suggestions for following Christmas traditions? We have dinner ressies at Citricos on Christmas eve and breakfast Christmas morning at WCC. Somehow we need to fit in church, present opening, Etc. etc. How does everyone fit it all in?

Hi everyone - a few quick questions:

1) How long is the ferry ride from MK to the Lodge in the afternoon (say around 2:00)? Is it usually crowded at that time? How long is it door to door?

2) Also, how long is the ferry in the evening from the Lodge back to MK? Wed like to head back to the Lodge in the afternoon but return to MK in the evening - however we dont want to spend too much time in transit.

Any thoughts or feedback?

thanks!!
