The Wilderness Lodge FAQ (Part 6) Simbas and Tiggers and Humphreys OH MY!

Never mind, answered my own question. Disneyworld.com - duh! :lmao:

Looks like it would be $202 more for us for the week in a Studio versus our CY view.

Now, gotta research the Villas to see if the $202 would be worth it. :surfweb: :)

Thanks for the hint! I would have never, ever thought they were even similar in price!

Reaaaaaaaaaaaaaally? Hmmm....:scratchin We don't have the BB, but we do have the CY view. What was your pin code for? Ours is 40% off. Where can we find the prices for the villas. DH would LOOOOOVE a villa, even if it was a studio!

Yup, we had the 40% off pin, and it was within $20 (total, not per night) of the price of the CYBB room we had booked. I was a little torn because I thought the CY would be more "in the middle of things" and the villas would be a further walk...but really, quiet and peaceful is kinda what we're inclined to prefer, and I'm really pleased to get a tad more room. Plus the sofabed gives you somewhere to sit during the day, and I think (?) you get a DVD player too, and definitely a microwave. So hopefully it's a good tradeoff.

I saw someone answered the monorail question thanks I actually forgot I asked that.

I have one other tinsey tiny question for those VETS that stay here often, how are the beds? I'm spoiled when it comes to a comfy bed and the bed at CSR was just very uncomfortable to me. I'm hoping since this is a deluxe resort the beds are alot better. So Vets how are the beds at WL?

I found the beds to be very comfortable. I fell right asleep at night and slept the whole night away.

If you click on the link below it will give you the location of each Studio over at the Villas. The Studio's in lavender are the dedicated studios. You could request 1st floor near elevator and pool area, that way you will have a better option of receiving a dedicated studio.

Good Luck

Thanks again Beckie, I didn't notice that link on the front page and it's a big help. I'm thinking it's best to just request the side away from the busses and not worry about the lockoff deal.

Hi Beckie! Thanks so much :thanks: for this fantastic thread. It's less than 6 months now until we cross the pond and I'm getting excited (well, I've been excited for months already!!! :tigger: ) and the info on here is brilliant!

Hi, I'm so glad if this has been helpful. If there is anything I can do for you please just ask.

This will be my first August in a few years without my Laura & Marco visiting. I know that their trip to Hawaii will be relaxing for Laura so I understand why Orlando would be too much.

Please let me know your exact dates, maybe I can drive down and visit for the afternoon.

dizneykid, thanks so much for the additional shopping info! How big is the snowglobe, do you remember? Obviously not a large one for that price, but is it one of the really little ones? I'm really interested since I collect snowglobes. Thanks again! :goodvibes

So glad I could help. I'm not that good with sizes, but I think it was like the size of a softball. It was definitely not those tiny ones.

It's amazing, as many times as we go to the Lodge, there is always something I would like to take home!! :lovestruc

One other thing I just remembered they had. They have the cutest little stuffy of chip and dale together and it says on the peanut they are holding "best friends". It's the real soft kind too. While I was on my "mission" for Beckie, I bought one for my DH. He loved it!!:goodvibes

That would be great Beckie - we're there from 3rd-17th August!

Di,
I'll do my best to try and visit during your stay. When your dates get closer and you have all your plans please let me know.

Hello! I am looking at staying 4 nights (oct 23-27) and was curious if they would have the fire places lit in the lobby then?

Also, is there a big difference between woods view vs. courtyard to pay the extra $150 for? Would like to have a pretty view though...

Not sure about the fireplaces, but...

Woods view rooms have a more "secluded" feel than Courtyard view rooms. Woods view rooms look outward at (of course) the woods, and sometimes catch a glimpse of VWL. Courtyard view rooms look inward toward the pool area, and also have views of Bay Lake. The price is only worth it if you want that kind of view; if you are looking for the more "out in the wilderness" feeling, go with a Woods view room.

:dance3: Ok..couldn't resist..we decided to go in October and experience MNSSHP!!! We've done MVMCP a few times..this will be our first time in October and am very much looking forward to it :yay:

When we visited on October 23rd, 2006 for dinner, at least one of the fireplaces was lit (I don't even recall seeing another-but, we were only in the lobby for a few moments). It was very cozy and beautiful. There were chairs in front of the fireplace and people were sitting in and enjoying the fire.

That night, I also remember, was particularlly chilly, I was wearing a sleeveless dress and FROZE on my back to the MK on a boat.

Subscribing. We are thinking of this resort for our 2009 trip. I really want it. I just have to convince DH that it would be good. He really wants the monorail. I told him there is a boat to MK where the monorail is. I know I'll win this battle.

I think the fireplaces will definitely be lit. We were there the week after Labor Day last year and they were on.

They have the main fireplace in the lobby, which seems to be always lite, and one in Whispering Canyon.

I would imagine so. I took my mother over to see our beloved lodge last July and the one in the lobby was going. I think it is probably going all the time.

Hello all,
What a wonderful thread. I have a question that I would guess that there is no 'set' answer to. I'm just wondering is anyone has any thoughts, etc.

We are arriving around noon on a Saturday in October. I have a specific area of the lodge that I would prefer (thanks to the advice of all of you wonderful people). My thought is that most people would have already arrived by Friday for the weekend. Am I going to have a tough time getting my preferred area, or am I just being silly? This is only my 2nd stay at Disney ever, and the last one was in 1998, so I'm still learning the ropes. Thanks for all your help! :goodvibes
