Just curious.. is there a laundry room located in the villas or just the one in WL by RF?

Don't all villas have a washer/dryer anyway? I can't answer your question but I'd be surprised if they had a laundry room at the villas considering the units have their own washer/dryer.

Studios do not, but the others do I believe. At least at SSR our one bedroom at a washer/dryer. At VWL our studio did not and I haven't stayed in a one bedroom so I couldn't tell you.

We are staying in a studio so we won't have a washer/dryer. We are doing a split stay with BCV and saw that they have a laundry room in the villas part, which made me wonder if VWL has one. It would just be a bit easier than dragging laundry across the resort.:)

I called reservations today and made a room request (for our 1BDR villa). The agent said that all 1 BDR villas have a balcony or patio. I did ask for a 'lake view' (someone mentioned that I should) but he said there were only 'woods' or 'courtyard' views. Since I wasn't sure which was the non-dumpster view, I didn't request any view. I also heard there aren't really any significant views at the villas so that was not a big deal. Since all of the 1 BDR villas come with a patio/balcony, I didn't add it to our reqeust so the only request I made was 'near an elevator' (some folks suggested I do this.) Hopefully everything works out great and I can't wait to go - just a bit over 3 weeks to go!!!

Thanks for the info.....hmmmm - dumpster or loud pool noise.... which view sounds best? :lmao:

Yes there is a laundry room at VWL for the people staying in the studios.

From Wilderness Lodge there are 3 bus stops:

First stop has 2 bus routes one to Fort Wilderness and a separate bus route to Magic Kingdom.

Second stop has two routes, one to EPCOT and one to Blizzard Beach/Animal Kingdom

Third stop has two routes, one to Downtown Disney/Typhoon Lagoon, one to Disney Hollywood Studios.

All buses start at least an hour before the park opens.

Downtown Disney buses start at 8:30am.

Hope this helps.

Brian

p.s. The bus description on Allears is very inaccurate.

So sorry for the confusion - thanks to all who set me straight and helped everyone out :goodvibes

At BC, my mom had a horrible dumpster view - it was smack dab out the back of the room (she was on the first floor) but I hope that this kind of 'dumpster' view is rare! I've stayed at lots of non-Disney resorts where a 'dumpster' view is just no big thing. It's the regular view but the dumpster happens to be there. I've never stayed at VWL so I'm not sure what the dumpster view entails. I'm sure I'll find out :rotfl:

Yes there is a laundry room in the villas. We were in the room right next door to it (1509). There are 2 washers and 4 dryers. And, you do not have to pay to use them. Just push in the coin thing without any coins in it and it will start.

Hello everyone!

This is such an informative thread! I admit that I have not read every page yet. I am highly considering staying at the WL in Sept 2012. My question is can you see the fireworks from this resort? Possibly from the beach? Also, do you recommend a particular floor or room?

Thanks.

We had a dumpster view one year. (Sorry, don't have the number) and the problem we had wasn't that it "looked" so bad. It was just a green dumpster in the trees, but when the trash trucks came at O'dark thirty in the morning...my goodness!!!

I wonder if this will ever be a bookable category:laughing:

If they would never back-up, all would be fine. But, I've read that the BEEP, BEEP, BEEP of the trash and delivery trucks can be heard from some rooms near the smokehouse.
