Congratulations on your first stay! There is a bar near the main pool but it is not a pool bar.

Thanks!
I assume you can buy drinks at that bar and bring them near the pool? Are there tables near the pool or only lounge chairs?

Honestly, one of our favorite parts of our Disney vacation is the afternoons. We will spend 3 or 4 hours at the pool and DH and I like to have a poolside libation. But I also like a shaded umbrella table IF possible. It's been our tradition at the Poly but this is our first time at WL so I don't know what to expect!

Yea! Just booked WL for our next trip - Courtyard view.
This is our first time staying in a Deluxe, but we have been to WL for dinner at WCC and we've come over for the campfire. Can't wait!:goodvibes

Now I need to go update my ticker

There's plenty of umbrellas, tables and chairs. Of course just like the Poly the ones closest to the pool are at a premium. The lounge chairs circle the pool area. I'll look for a pic.

The bar is at the end of the bridge (I'm standing on) and to the left. There are umbrella tables and chairs there with a view of the geyser. On the far right and out of frame there are also umbrella tables and chairs. The lounge chairs around the pool fill quickly.

Thanks guys for the info. on the bunk beds. It most likely will be me in the top and my son in the bottom, lol. He won't like that but I can't imagine him sleeping on the top yet but I may change my mind by then though but not certain he is old enough any who...thanks for the info. :goodvibes

How is Territory Lounge? Any special drinks? Apps?

We were at the Lodge in December, and popped into Territory Lounge for a drink and appetizer to tide us over until a late dinner reservation at CG. We really enjoyed it! The atmosphere was laid back and the servers were great.

They had the generic drink menu that all Disney restaurants/bars now have - so we ordered wine and a beer. Then we were able to order fun coffee (with liquor) drinks off of the Artist Point menu. We also ordered a BBQ pork flatbread, that was delicious!

Any one have pictures or information on the washer dryer and closets in the 1 bedroom villas? I asked awhile ago, with no response.....

Thanks!

We stayed at Wilderness Lodge for three nights during marathon weekend and definitely want to go back. We feel like we missed the "character" of the resort, partially because we were busy with the marathon, but mainly because our room was on the first floor right off the lobby. (I mean it. Stand outside Roaring Fork and look to the left. Room 1030 is the one you can see - that was us!)

On our last day we explored all the other floors and wished we had stayed on a higher floor.

Anyway, we loved the lounge (they have my favorite winery, King Estate!) and ate several breakfasts at Roaring Fork. They opened at 3:00 AM on marathon morning. I had brought my own bagel, PB, and banana, but it was great to sit and hang out with the other runners. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful and we loved the convenience of the boats to MK and Contemporary - my husband used boat transportation marathon morning to come watch me. This was great because it's usually hard to get around due to road closures. We always take a car to Disney but dislike dealing with the TTC, so the boat to MK was great.

Our room was a little odd because it was an accessible room, but we liked our woods view porch (can't say balcony because we were ground floor) and the furnishings were lovely.

Husband has always wanted to stay here, and his overall review was that he liked it as much as POR, which is one of his favorites. He still says the Dolphin beats them all, but that is more related to its Boardwalk location and pool cabana beer selection than the hotel itself. :)

The washer dryers are the stack style. One little box of Tide is provided. You can buy more. The closet is a walk-in size with 'never enough for me' wooden shirt/skirt hangers. I like to hang everything so request additional.
I'll look for pics....

Well, I just did the online check-in for the first time. Hope that works out for us. Is there a way to see what room type you are getting before check-in? I noticed a lot of people seem to see if they've been upgraded prior to check-in, and I was wondering how they do it. They don't assign the rooms until 5 days out, right?

Thank you! That gives me a good perspective! It looks awfully relaxing - I can't wait to go!!!

Do they walk around and take orders or is it self serve? Also, do they serve food or do you have to go inside?

EXCELLENT QUESTION! I ditto that... The Poly used to have a waitress at the pool and I loved it, but they got rid of that position a few years back. I'd be curious to know if WL has a pool server.

And also about the food - any food at the bar? Of course, you can spot me - I usually have a big bag of cheetos and some fruity drink. YUM! That's a vacation...

I found out when i pulled up the reservation the day before on the Disney site.

So keep checking there!!

DITTO! It is snowing here in Ohio right now! While I love the snow, it has been a long winter so far and the flu bug hit us hard this winter so we all are looking forward to some SUN, grass, and fresh air!! 10 days and counting!!! :yay:

I can't decide. I put in a pretty basic room request (inner courtyard 4th floor or higher) but would really like to get it. Does it increase or decrease chances of getting room requests with on-line check in? I don't really think a long wait will be an issue since we are checking in early in the morning. So other than decreasing wait time in line or increasing chances for getting room requests, is there really any other advantage for on line check in? If i do on-line check in and do not receive a room that fulfills my request, do I still have the opportunity to ask for a different room? I don't know why I get so stressed out about this! I always feel sick until I find out what room we have!
