Yea!! We're officially booked for two nights in a deluxe room in September!! We've visited WL on previous trips and eaten there a couple times, but this is our first stay. We're usually at the Poly or BC, but we're all excited to stay at the lodge. Been following this thread for a bit and just wanted to share our happy news. :)

Yay! The lodge will give you a nice autumn-y feeling

4531 (3531 should be the same, just a floor lower). Can't hurt to add it to your reservation asap! Then ask again at check-in. It is a fabulous room and location. VWL does not really have any views to speak of, so this was great...of course, loads of pine trees in front of the balcony, but could still see the lake through the trees. If this room is not available ask if one lake side would be.

It was our first VWL stay too and very pleasantly surprised! Oh, also, if you don't want to walk through the lobby to get to Roaring Forks, go to the first floor of the Villa, follow the hall to the pool and walk around the pool toward the lake, then around the Lodge pool - it is only about 4 mins to RF and a couple more more to the boat launch (watch for signs to the launch just when you go around the side of the Lodge bldg).

Have a great trip!! :goodvibes

We have stayed in 3531 before, awesome location near the elevators with a nice view..

Just booked Wilderness Lodge for Wednesday & Thursday night (1/19 & 1/20). First time at this resort but I've stayed at GF, Contemporary, Poly, CSR, and the Swan & Dolphin.

I've always wanted to stay at WL. I'm surprised the price is so much lower compared to other Deluxe resorts.

Anyway, we booked just a standard view. Any suggestions of what to request for the best view? I realize none will be great, but perhaps a little bit of a view will be possible, and I would like to avoid a view of the service areas.

Thanks for your help!

Ernie

The hottub at the villas is working fine. We actually prefer it over the two at the main pool. It also seems most people have not figured that out yet.

I've been wondering if you made it. . .so glad to hear! Hope you have a wonderful week. What does cold mean? How many layers do you think we need. . .we leave in 10 days! Hope you have a blast today!

Nights have been around freezing. First two days were in the low 50s. Today hit 66.

I've worn 3 layers, my Mom has 4. Today I was down to my shirt by lunch.

Hope that helps.

I hate to tell you but any standard room with a view will be over the service area. If you are ok with that the request a high floor in the north wing. If you think the service area will bother you then book a woods view room.

Thanks Brian. It's not a big deal so I'll take my chances. We are only there for two nights and we don't arrive until fairly late the first night (driving up from Miami). I just know from experience at the other Disney resorts I've stayed at, there are "better" standard rooms than others, and sometimes it's just a matter of knowing which ones they are. Fairly recently I had a standard garden view at the Poly, and it had a beautiful view of the marina. It was a view I would have paid extra for. I loved it. Didn't know if WL had anything like that, but perhaps not.

I did go back a bit on this thread and read some of your previous comments on the standard room locations. I appreciate all the info.

So for a first time WL visitor - what tips do the experts have??? Anything in particular that is exclusive to WL? I can't wait!

I'm planning a trip in late May and was considering staying at the WL. The problem is that there are 3 adults (2 adults and a teen) and one child and believe me you don't want to sleep with the kid!!! I have never seen a child move around more in his sleep than this one but I do still love him . OK, on to my question can an adult sleep in a bunk bead? Will an adult want to sleep in a bunk bed may be a better question? Any other options at the WL?

Thanks for any help.

20 more days for me then I check in:cool1:!!! It is my first visit to the lodge and I am so excited!:woohoo:. I am leaving my DH and kids behind for my first only "me time" getaway (well my mother is tagging along, but she has promised she will not whine, cry or throw a tantrum so I should be good;)).

I am hoping the temps rise a bit by then, but I am coming from New England so anything there will feel great...I will probably be in shorts when everyone else is bundled up :lmao:!

How big are the adults? If the bunk beds are the size of the ones at AKL, a smaller adult wouldn't have any problem. It might not be ideal, but it won't be bad. I slept in the bottom bunk one night on our trip a few years ago & it was fine. But then I'm only 5'0" lol!

I slept in the TOP bunk during our recent stay. It was fine. Not what I had planned, but I booked the room ages ago thinking my kids would sleep in the bunk beds. Then, I realized that my mom and I would be happier not sharing a bed, while the two 6 year olds could share just fine. That meant that either my 70 year old mom or I needed to clamber up :rotfl2:

We are finalizing our trip for August and have decided to stay at WL.....if you request a floor, are they pretty apt to giving you the floor? I am not talking about a certain room but a floor.

I give up! I've looked and looked! I can't find a picture of the washer dryer in the Wilderness Lodge Villas...(1 bedroom) and the closets of the 1 bedroom villa.
I have seen the layout pictures of the room, and it looks like there is only 1 closet (right near the entrance - like a coat closet)... But I can't find any other closet in the bedroom....

I tried looking at allearsnet.... wildernesslodgesite and on the Wilderness Disboard picture thead.... nothing to be found...

Can you guys help??? Thanks!:goodvibes
