If I'm posting in the wrong place - please forgive me and advise.
Currently booked CR Tower Bay Lake view for Sept 29-Oct 6th free dining.
(myself, DH, mom, dad and ds 4)BUT we'd LOVE to be able to stay at WL instead. I just haven't been able to find a way for the 5 of us to stay there cheaper than our CR rate . I thought I had read that the promos and pins never come out for the Deluxe Room that could hold us all - Is that true? ANY suggestions are appreciated. Thanks for your time. You all have already been a wealth of info to this "lurker".

We just got back 9/2 & there was scafolding(sp?) up out by the main entrance but honestly we only noticed it arriving & departing-never thought about it in the 10 days in between! Everything was great!!!

I was also wondering if anyone can confirm a room rehab. Since the rooms were at WL were refurbed a few years ago, I'm wondering if they are just updating bed linens, paint, etc (not furniture). Would someone staying there now or in the near future mind asking at the resort?

Anybody know what kinds of wines are served in the lounge? I have never been a wine drinker (I'm a cordial girl.) but after a client gave me a bottle of Shiraz at Christmas last year, I decided I need to be more open to trying different wines. I don't suppose they offer any Shiraz?? It's my favorite.

Great picture and very good information. I am a Disney Rookie. I have never been. My DW has been but a long time ago, and this is the first trip for the DS (10) and DD (7). We are very excited! We're heading there in May and we were bummed about not being able to get a room at the CR but thanks to this, we are very excited about the WL.

I honestly have not seem any discount for the Deluxe Rooms at WL. You could always call CRO and ask. The nice thing staying at the CR is the WL is just a short boat ride away. You could go over for dinner or catch the movie on the beach.

I heard once of someone who could not get the discounted room they wanted at WL and so they booked at Port Orleans, they decided to stop by the WL and asked at the check-in desk and they found a room for them with the discount. So it could not hurt to ask when you get there. Might take a few minutes extra though.

Just a few ideas. ;-)

They specialize in wines from the Pacific Northwest, and you will see on the wine list they have serveral wines listed under "Syrah" which is they call Shiraz in Australia. Here is a link to the wine list.

There are some nice wines on that list. Might have to change some ADR's to go to Artist's Point. LOL!!!

No, there are no "Bear Face Rooms" located on the seventh floor. They are only located on the forth, fifth and sixth floors. The view from the seventh floor toward the pool area is open with large windows so everyone can enjoy the view.

Staying at a studio in the WL Villas. A friend of mine is a DVC member. He had us in his home resort of OKW. Hit the 7 month mark today and were able to switch to WL.

I don't believe they do as the one/two bedroom villas are already equipped with them. There is a laundry area at WL that you could use.

Well, I finally made my FIRST VWL reservation for next August. I've been waiting to make this reservation since May of 2009 LOL. Gonna be in my "good place" on August 23rd for a week in a one bedroom villa. Now.... only 11 months to go. I'm leaving on 10/8 headed to SSR for F&W maybe I'll go visit VWL just because
