The Wilderness Lodge and Villas FAQ (Part 7) Simbas and Tiggers and Humphreys OH MY!

2 questions, have not stayed at WL for a few years:

What drinks are now available for the refillable mugs at RF? Is there any Lemonade or Caffeine free diet coke in particular? Anyone have a photo of the drink station?

I have a woods view BB booked now but seriously considering changing that to regular WV. My teens slept in BB's at WL and AKL a few times, but may not enjoy them as much now. Is it at all possible to rent a rollaway at WL? We have always been able to get them at all the moderates (even though everyone puts on these boards that you can't!). But I have not read anything about them at WL. That would be a better option for us IF they fit in the room. They would prefer the rollaway over an airbed-they are comfy.

Thanks for any insight! :)

This site has photos of the Drink Station. It's a little dark, but you can see the beverages.

We are so excited to be staying at the WL, we haven't been to Disney World since 2001 and back then we stayed at CBR. So we are very excited to be staying at a deluxe resort. We will be there in mid July, can't wait.

Very excited!! Recieved a pin and rebooked our ressie in June to a Honeymoon Suite CL room. We have stayed in a HM suite before and LOVED it!!! Very cozy!! Plus we saved $ 400.00 from the standard cl room!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Is there more that one place to refill mugs? We will be staying at the villas - is there a refill station there?

Unfortunately the only place to get refills is at Roaring Forks. It is a short walk from the villas.

I'm starting to get excited...only 5 more weeks till we're HOME! :cheer2::banana:

Hello everyone! I am planning a trip and cannot wait to stay at WL. Trying to decide when to go. The weeks I am looking at are the week after Thanksgiving, Pop Warner week, or Nov 11- 19. It seems like Nov tends to be less crowded (which I want), but also want to see the lodge decorated. Does anyone who has been in the past know when they decorate the resorts? That will really help with my decision!

Time is not dragging for us. I need to put the brakes on. We have sold our house and need to pack most of it before WDW in 17 days! Would you like to come help to give you something to do while you wait? LOL!
Luckily we planned this trip for January and got to within 5 days before rescheduling. So I have most of my packing lists and some touring plans already made. Now if I can just find time to tweak them and pack a suitcase . . .

Oh, BlueFairy- I hear you now! It's kicked in for me!:eek:
so much to do! But, NOTHING like you!
you DO have your PLATE FULL!
Congrats on getting your house sold! Get it packed up so you can relax at the Lodge in a couple of weeks. Good game plan! :thumbsup2

Thank you so much for this fabulous thread, it is a wealth of information. We will be staying at VWL for the first time in July although we've been to DW countless times. Celebrating my daughter's 18th b-day and hs graduation. She will be bringing her b-friend who has NEVER been to Disney. We also will have my 15 yo son.

We're always looking for those things that get overlooked, what extra special things would teens like to do? Is the Flag Raising Family a good idea or am I reaching with that one? Are the only boats the mouseboats or are wave runners as well?

Thanks in advance.

I remember taking our teen son to WL and he loved doing the Wave runners! And the arcade! Also, give him his space, we would let him take the bus to a park. They just need a little "me time" too. :)

Just completed online check-in...tomorrow, we begin the single digit countdown! :cheer2:

WHOA! 8 more days!!!!! Yippppppeeee!!!!!:yay::yay::yay:

Talking about a great deal! Congrats!!!! :thumbsup2

Sorry, only time we've been there during the holidays was right after T-giving and the second week of December. Already decorated.
I do know by a CM, that they decorate the whole lodge overnight.:wizard:

How where the crowds the week after Thanksgiving and the second week of December? Was one better then the other? Any advice?

Lisa- actually, we thought the second week was the lightest in crowds.
The first several days after the Thanksgiving week still were very busy, then went down to light crowds.

But, it's all good when you're at the WL.
Be sure you do the sleigh ride when you're there! It's a lovely thing to do
at the lodge during the holidays! DH and I loved it!:love:

First time staying at WL- so excited! We always decorate our window at CSR, do people do that at WL? I guess you can decorate the sliding glass window, since there isn't a ledge to place plushes?

Any pictures of decorations? Any thoughts?

I have the first week booked now. I had asked this on another thread and they said the second week was better, too. I may change it. I am just soooo excited to stay there :banana::banana:

May be a silly question, but do they have a cartoon channel at WL? My kids will drive me crazy while I get ready in the mornings if they don't have something to do!! I thought I had read somewhere that they didn't but when I did a search I couldnt find anything. Thanks!

:cheer2: Not too much longer!!! :banana:
