We'll be there too!!
Aug 14 thru 28. We're staying at All Star Sports for 7 nights then AKL for 7 nights. Can't wait!!
We've never gone in Aug before, we usually go in Oct. The Heat has me a little concerned, but we'll be there 14 days so we'll just take it slow, drink lots of water, and have a great time like always!!

We will be at the AKL from Aug.1-8th. We went in Aug 2002 and only had one morning of rain. July 2001 we had only about one day without rain. We just had our ponchos with us and were prepared.
Can't wait! This is our first time at AKL!

Hi Everyone
What a great thread! It's nice to see that there are others who will be going to WDW during the "hottest" time of the year
My sister has been planning this event for the past 3 years as a present for our 14 year old niece's 8th grade graduation. August was the only time we could all agree to get together.
I was getting so tired of listening to my sister plan that I talked her into going with me last July on the Fairytale Package Plan for a "pretrip" vacation. It was the first time either of us had stayed on property. Now I too, have become a Disney "planner". We plan on staying for 10 days at OKW with eight other family members August 3-13. We feel that way we will not feel so rushed to see everything at once.
My older brother informed us he is not a Mickey Mouse fan and that he and his wife will not stay for the whole 10 days. He is only going to please his wife. My oldest niece will be graduating from law school and says she can't be definite about it since she has such a busy schedule. Its been a rollar coaster ride so far and we haven't even left Montana yet!
Anyway we have six of us who are looking forward to going and making memories.
Hope the rest of you have a great time too!

For the most part though the rain never lasted for more than an hour. Pack ponhos and umberellas and have fun!

Yep, that most likely would have been on a Monday, the 18th. The monorail shut down for about an hour due to that tornedo!! The weather was beautiful that day. Just very hot, muggy but sunny!! In the time it took us to get from the Polynesian to the MK on the monorail it went from beautiful to monstrous!! About 200 people huddled in the covered monorail area at MK waiting for the storm to pass...which it didn't. Every day from then on the skies opened around 3 and it poured until late evening. So, my advice?? No matter what the weather looks like when you leave your resort, take your poncho!!! We now have 3 apiece!!! But, we are going back this August. Hopefully it won't be as rainy!!!

Why yes, it was Monday Aug. 18, 2003! We were at Epcot that night. I still wonder if the Illuminations show we saw that night was different due to the rain, or the fact that I just remeber it differently from childhood. I still can't believe the show went on that night.

Here's to another wonderful Disney trip... We can't wait!!! The only problem we have is where to stay. It was going to be CSR but now its CBR. But no matter where we're at it'll be Aug. 19-24. We've gone in September, but I think the days of pulling the boys out of school are over... hmm that said maybe next year we'll go see MNSSHP (haha). We'll make up our minds.. eventually.

The family and I will be going 8/21-8/28. Not sure if we will stay at BC or Poly (can't beat that monorail).
kinggoofy hit it with the rain last year, but it didn't bother us at all. the only regret is that we never got to go to the CR pools. the days were not bad at all, and we have gone every august for the past three years. the nights were a little chilly, though. i love going in august, and i'm hoping for the heat and humidity. i need some ways to sweat off all the FOOD!

As you can see from my signature, we will be having a family reunion, too!
We will be staying at the Dolphin from August 2-6. About half of our group is on a very tight budget for time and money, so we're taking what we can get!!!

To Kirstin's Mommy: Is your family planning on reuion t-shirts? We're trying to come up with something different, but not too corny (for the "serious" members of the family!) Maybe we'll see you there!

We'll be at the Boardwalk Inn from Aug. 7-14, then we'll spend some time with my brother's family in Fort Meyers. Then we'll go to Universal and stay at the PBH for 3 nights/4 days. I can't wait!!

Okay this is me , DH , DD & DS waiting for August to arrive!!! We are going with all of the excitement of taking DS (2 months) to meet is new best friends & !

We are going 6-16 August staying at the Caribbean Beach! When we step on Florida soil in the nice hot , this will be me , DH , DD and DS !

We will be at the Polynesian and AKL the 5th-14th We just got back from visiting the World. I have to say I much prefer the summer. It's more lush, the flowers smell, the parks are open later, swimming feels more refreshing, the drinks taste better and there is more excitment in the air

We are either going in July or August, and not sure where we will stay at. That will probably be set when we get there since we are going to fly into Vegas, stay there for a bit, then drive to California.

We will be there July 31-August 8th. We, too, are splitting our stay between POLY and AKL. It will be DH first trip in the summer (usually just the girls and I go during the summer).

We have been going in August for the past 4 years in a row. (we went again this year in January-and are going to DIsneyland next week-yup, freaks)

I love August. IT is hot and it ususally rains every day in the afternoon for a while, but then it is sunny again. One year, we had a few days without rain, last year, it rained a lot. you never know. I always carry poncho's just in case. The cool thing, is because it is always hot, packing a suitcase is easy. Shorts and tank tops. When we went in January, we had to pack for all kinds of weather. (note: we were there new years, and it was beautiful, high 70's low 80's-NO RAIN-but the next week I heard it got cold-we were luck)

It is humid, so you drink lots of water. But so many rides are inside with airconditioning. The waits were not long,if you use FP. Last year it was more crowded than I ever have seen it, I assume because of the Fairy Tale PKG. In years past, we waited about 10-20 minutes in line. Orlando kids, and other;s around the country, go back to school mid-august, so that eliminates some of the crowds.

Anyhow, I am assuming we will be back again in August-altho, I usually don't make my reservations until June or so. I wait for the codes.
