Red Sox catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia and his wife Ashley welcomed in a new 8-pound, 4-ounce, 20-inch baby girl early Tuesday morning at around 6:23 a.m.

Salty did not start Tuesday as a result of his baby’s birth. The newly engaged Jason Varitek got the nod behind the plate.

According to ESPN.com’s Steven Krasner, the proud parents have not named their baby yet.

“We have two days for a name,” said Saltalamacchia, whose other children are daughters Sidney and Hunter. “Any hints? Thursday we’re allowed to go home and we need to have a name when we go home.”
