Hey, everyone :) I just got done making baked spaghetti for us tonight. Now I'm burning up. When I finish posting I'm going to go strip, lol.

I am just stopping by for a little :grouphug: Buddy's Mom passed away Sunday morning. I want to thank you all for praying for Alyce. She passed peacefully and without the complications we all were so afraid that she would experience. God's work for sure.:grouphug:
I'm so sorry for your loss, Nancy :(

Glynis ~ How is your Dad feeling? I have sure been keeping him close.
33 days of school left - OH MY!!! Summer will be here before we know it.

Thanks for asking about my dad! He's doing remarkably well. He tires easily. Jet-lag is not easy to get over at 81 years old. But, he's remembering to eat and drink more regularly. It helps that he's got a whole office full of people who've made it their mission to see that he does it! The biggest worry right now, is that his best friend is dealing with stage 4 lung cancer. Never smoked a day in his life, so it makes dad a bit angry. We're just waiting to hear from the cancer doctor whether or not he's a candidate for chemotherapy. So, if you've got more good thoughts to spare, Chuck Metten could sure use some!

This is where his role as caregiver ends and his sister's begins. However................not so much. She never gave the nursing home a funeral parlor to call. The nursing supervisor tried to reach her and no luck. She did not answer the phone and did not return calls on her cell. Who does not answer a phone call before 6AM??????????????????? The nursing home has an arrangement with a funeral home so they have Alyce and tried all day to reach SIL. No luck. I called the lawyer who was part of this mess and he told me he does not want Cathy mad at him by his calling and he has no luck reaching her anyway so "don't panic and you're not a big beneficiary anyway". Buddy wants to rip his throat out. I have told this shyster that we neither need nor want any money but this is about a woman's dignity!

I sent Buddy to work today and he called to tell me his loss is all over the quarry. I hope that word gets back to his BIL so he can get SIL into gear. I am so angry! We have no idea what is going to happen but Buddy has sworn that if she does not treat his mom appropriately he is going to make the rest of this process as painful as possible for her. She thinks that because her Mom specified her as executrix it is a given but if she cannot even follow a judge's instruction to preplan a funeral and will not make arrangements how can she manage probate? Buddy told me he will fight this every step of the way if she screws his Mother's arrangements up. We already have an attorney and he is my second call this morning.

In the meantime, it looks like my home is family central and Marisa has been wonderful organizing food and making sure Buddy does not need to worry about anyone.

UncleR and I send our condolences to all of you. Please know we're thinking of you during this time.

I had some garlic that was not going to last until I got back from Vegas so I sliced it very thin, and cooked it at 155 derees for 3.5 hours and then ground it up in my spice grinder and it was garlic powder and David said that it was vway more pungent than the normal stuff...

Cool idea!

Evening y'all.

Well, J is a bit better and is probably going back to school tomorrow. UncleR is still a sickie. :guilty:

I went shopping after work today. And I made spicy Thai noodles with potstickers for dinner.

Tomorrow is caprese pasta.

 all around. Now to go rest!

WFD... Well it was Monday, meatless Monday...so we had cheese enchiladas, with homemade sauce, with homemade decried beans, that were amazing...
:goodvibes

That sounds really good. We're home now so I have to figure out something for dinner. I'm thinking something with ground beef, but what, I'm not sure.

Morning, everyone! It's a grey and drizzly day here. It's been raining since about midnight. Definitely a soup night. I found a new recipe for Indian spiced tomato soup that sounds wonderful. I think we'll do that tonight with some bread to go along with it.

Hi my friends,

Jen ~ I hope Uncle Remus is feeling better real soon.

Brandi ~ Glad to hear it is going to be all about you and David. You both so deserve this time. Have a ball!!

Merle ~ Oh how I wish you were closer, I would take you up on your offer. ;)

PIO ~ I am enjoying your Hong Kong trip report.

Alison ~ Welcome home. How is Fran doing today?

Nan ~ prayers continue my dear friend.

Glynis ~ your soup sounds amazing. I can't wait to hear if it is as good as it sounds. :)

Only 10 more days till vacation. I can't wait. Starting to get very very excited.

WFDT ~ Grilled Hamburgers, kitchen sink salad and sweet tea. uhhhh...spring!

Make it a great day!!

I'm coming back to report that the Indian spiced creamy tomato soup was AMAZING!!! Everyone gave it 2 thumbs up, even my tomato hating kids! I will definitely be making this again!!! Brandi, it would be a great choice for your meatless meals. The chickpeas that are in it, are really filling. No one missed meat tonight!

She has been very cranky all day. We see the wound Dr. again tomorrow, so we'll see how that goes.

How exciting! Where are you going on vacation?

Hmmmm, it sounds interesting, but we don't like chickpeas. :guilty:

I'd like that recipe too.

Today is Wednesday and traditional dinner night at mum's. I'm going to take it easy and ask for a doggy bag. Don't want to infect the rest of the family just yet.

Hope you're all well.

PiO ~
