Oh...you're one of THOSE people. :snooty:

:lmao:

Does it taste like soap to you?

And yea, we're having this again tomorrow for lunch. Plus maybe again later in the week. It definitely made a bunch, but we'll eat it. :rolleyes1

yesterday morning, I put some of the left over carnitas in the skillet and warmed it up and then cracked a few eggs in there and made breakfast taco out of them...... Sooooo gooood :thumbsup2

I made carnitas with homemade tortillas for dinner. My carnitas recipe, which also comes from the Homesick Texan, is from her cookbook and is slightly different from the one she has online.

Kathy Louise...this is for you. :teeth:

:rotfl2::lmao: Looks amazing!! Check out my new signature!

Ohhhhh, yummmmmmy...:lovestruc

Oooh....Jen....those carnitas look positively carnal!

And I'm one of the OTHER type of people....I LOVE LOVE LOVE cilantro.

I thought y'all would love it! I hope Aimee sees it!;) Johnny says it's kinda sexy.

Leave it to a man to think it would be sexy. :lmao:

I found some really good looking short ribs yesterday so we are having Becky's recipe and mashed taters. I found a chocolate pie on that site so dessert is set too.

I didn't like cilantro either. I think it was mostly because I bought it by mistake thinking it was parsley. I thought something was really wrong with the parsely. Now I like it as long as people remember it has a strong personality.

Good morning y'all!

Tooter woke us up after we went to bed really late because the food bowl wasn't dispensing food. :headache: She was ticked, and she was going to let us know it!!! :sad2:

I needed to get up anyways, I guess. :lmao:

Tonight's dinner is the cheeseburger macaroni that I didn't make the other day. But lunch is more carnitas! :lovestruc

Hope y'all have a great Sunday!

I was "allowed" to sleep as long as I wanted this morning, and I was up at 7:15.... This is so wrong....:headache:

Well Hershey has bounced back. He is running around barking at the squirrels.

I am offically done picking up leaves. If anymore come down they are on their own. Mr A and I can hardly pick up our arms. Tomorrow is supposed to be rainy and windy.

Not sure yet about dinner.

We have not even started! I posted on another thread about my leaves, they are taking over but I don't rake and Buddy is flat out right now. My trees are still full and yet we now have no grass. Thank goodness my neighbor likes us, he was out all day and using his vehicle lights last night. He will be out again today and every day until the yard is covered in snow. Again..............

I was glad to see that Hershey is bouncing around again!

WFD? Because it is our "band weekend" at Disney, one of the members of the band set up a dinner party at Club 33, so we'll be having a four course gourmet meal tonight! I'm having the Filet and she is having the Salmon for our mains!

I am officially jealous! I hope that you have a great time and that the tow of you have a little respite from all of the health problems you both have had to deal with

Oh...you're one of THOSE people. :snooty:

:lmao:

Me too. (hanging my cilantro hating head in shame) ;)

Love Love Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He is too funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So Buddy is out trying to express that he is angry to his partner but without burning all our bridges. I have decided to stay home because I would set the entire thing into flames.

Dinner last night was a grill marathon, at least for me. Grilled steaks, grilled potatoes, grilled zucchini and a salad which I chose not to eat. I had apple crisp instead :lmao: We have a neighbor who has never really been friendly. She is new, about two years. Anyway, the day after we got trounced with that storm she somehow managed to get her car stuck up on a snowbank with several of her wheels dangling. Buddy found her trying to dig it out so he brought her home for coffee heat and some food. We kept her with us until she could get to her brothers house and Buddy rescued her poor car. She must have been shy because she is now Chatty Cathy and gifted us with a homemade apple crisp. It was delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not sure what is for dinner tonight. It will include wine because Buddy is cranky. I plied him with alcohol last night and plan to do the same when he gets in this afternoon. If it does not work I will return to the computer, glass in hand and avoid him until he is in a better mood. :dance3:

Usually, when one of us is cranky, we'll ply each other with wine...well, more likely it's a bloody mary. :lmao:

Is Buddy hurt? :guilty:

Good luck with the leaves. We have about 30 large oaks, plus a multitude of other trees, we can't rake leaves. :lmao:

And Brandi...I hate it when I'm "allowed" to sleep in and then I wake myself up! :sad2:

Isn't that the truth.:sad2:

I always do that when given the opportunity, drives me crazy!

I'm hoping the alcohol works its magic!!;)

WFD - Spaghetti & meatballs, roasted cauliflower and garlic bread.

We give each other alcohol, vodka for me Bourbon for David. It works most of the time, but when we are really mad or pissed, we tend to not know when we reach that point.... so the other has to be strong and pull back when the time is right. :rotfl:

I was mad when I woke up, it was like come on.... Please just a little longer, nothing really woke me up, it was just time....:headache:

Nancy, hope Buddy is will be better soon.... Maybe a drink will help..

Kat, how do your roast cauliflower? What do you put on it?

Is Buddy hurt? :guilty:

:

No, he is pissed! We partnered with another farmer in order to bring a guy here from Jamaica. he is an amazing man, has forgotten more about tobacco than Buddy will ever know. Anyway, there is an agency you must go through and it is expensive but totally worth the money. His friend keeps the books and we pay him, it is okay to do this, every tax and insurance is paid. No money under the table at all. No chance of hiring an illegal worker either so it works well.

Anyway, somehow we have been left out of the loop and found out on Friday that the two guys here are heading home on Monday. No one consulted us. :confused3:confused3 Neither man is ready, most of the guys are leaving on Nov 26th. There have been small issues but nothing that we cannot overlook but this was not right. We bought a vehicle, pay the insurance so no one needs to pick them up and these guys are not prisoners not the camp, waiting for a ride to manage basic necessities. WE felt that we should pay all of the expenses for this because we don't have the headaches of keeping the books, he does it. IT was pretty thoughtless not to discuss their departure date with Bud and he is not happy. These guys are here to work, the crop is time sensitive and there is plenty of work to go around, and every penny in taxes are paid so there are no worries that you break the law. He is going to discuss that he was a little upset because we had work for at least another week for them and becasue we want them to come back to our farms we should not be sending them home until there is no more work. They do not need to agree to work for us or him.

Buddy is actually more upset for how they were not consulted, they were told. He thinks that there is a lack of respect for them in this instance and when you think about the level of stress that their help alleviated for both him and us it was not a nice thing to do. I am like a bull in a china shop when I am upset and becasue I have already had an agitated conversation with his wife and Buddy is much less volitle he is the best one to talk. But he was very quiet last night and that is never a good sign.
