Hey friends! Just popping by. We decided to go out tonight - we went to Chili's.

Good morning! :goodvibes

It's Friday! :woohoo:

Tonight's dinner is BLT pasta salad. It's another new recipe.

Hope everyone here has a great start to their weekend!

Morning, all! Just popping in to say hi! We are having an awesome time! :)

Who was it that gave me the bright Idea of joining Pinterest? that site is addictive

Tonight's dinner is cheeseburger macaroni. It's a new Pinterest recipe. Some people, who shall remain nameless in this household, have a love for hamburger helper. I won't touch that stuff with a ten foot pole. So, this is my compromise. :teeth:
.

My DSIL loves Hamburger Helper. Marisa makes it for him rarely IIRC ;)

Dinner last night ended up being soup and sandwiches. I spent most of the afternoon cleaning parts of my house. So much needs to be done before my dad gets here at Thanksgiving! He believes that every house should look unlived in, and mine definitely looks like 7 people live here. So, I'm deep cleaning my house in my "spare" time! I've got a schedule worked out, and if I stick to it (and with a little help from my family), we should be ok. The house will still look lived in, but it won't drive my dad crazy!

That is what closets are for :rotfl2: Honestly, I am not a clean freak and tend to keep things picked up but it only takes about 30 minutes for my house to go from picture perfect to "lived in". Buddy walks in and it is all over. And don't get me started on my two little Princesses :rotfl: Last night I let them have those little Hostess powdered donuts after dinner and my big mistake was giving Buddy some too. Thank God my LR furniture can be wiped up with a microfiber cloth.....looked like it snowed inside :)

If allowed I will pop my heid in from time to time and add my own unique tilt to things.

This is not goodbye.....I will be watching.:cool2:

Love youse x

Don't go far.......................Who else will post my pool boy???????

We are playing Penn State this week in football. Our players are there and all reports are saying that they are being treated ok. I really worry about the fans though. I am so glad we aren't there. We thought about flying out - but I am so glad we didin't. Please keep all the players and fans in your prayers - this could be a bumpy ride on Saturday.

Marty and Stephanie, are coming tonight for dinner. I am so excited!! She is starting to get a baby bump. She is very thin and I really thought she would start to show before now but she hasn't till just the last few weeks. She in just starting her 5th month. YEA!!!!
.

The Penn State thing is not good. :sad2: I am glad that you decided to stay home, I cannot understand the students who are protesting but :sad2:

enjoy your dinner!

Fran's attempt to go to rehearsal the other night was an epic fail. She tried to get into the SUV with no luck. She can get into our Malibu, so that will be our back up plan for the weekend.

.

How is she doing? I had a hard time keeping up with no internet so I am hopelessly behind in the news

This is for dinner at my house tonight http://thepassionatecook.typepad.co...onzola-waltnuts-spinach-and-single-malt-.html

and i will also make a pumpkin bread for tomorrow morning http://simplyrecipes.com/recipes/pumpkin_bread/

YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been going through my pie recipes, trying to narrow down what I'll be making for Pie Night this year.

Eggnog Pumpkin Pie

You are killing me with the pies! :woohoo:I was talking to Welby about a pie night this year. I cannot make an apple or BB pie to save my life but the others??? YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a recipe for a salted caramel pie I want to try before T day that looks good! If it is I'll post the recipe

Hi Everyone,

I am jumping back in once again. It was a busy week, as usual. !

How are you doing Busy Lady?

Morning, all! Just popping in to say hi! We are having an awesome time! :)

Have a great time!

Glynis - I used to love Delia Smith recipes a long time ago. She had one for gooseberry pie and I googled...
http://www.deliaonline.com/recipes/...pie/a-very-easy-one-crust-gooseberry-pie.html

I've never made it...but you might want to try it out.

I used to have a friend who made gooseberry preserves that were delicious!

Dinner last night was enchiladas that Welby made. Tonight I am sitting for the girls while Welby is at work so I am having something with mashed potatoes.

Ended up going out to a Japanese/Chinese, Hibachi, Sushi, Seafood buffet last night for my godsons birthday. Feeling very salty today.

Dinner tonight will be the pizza I was going to make last night.

Dinner last night was an unqualified success! It is definitely going into our regular rotation! It was a creamy baked spaghetti. Very easy!!!

12 oz. spaghetti
1 pound hamburger
1 jar (28 oz) spaghetti sauce
8 oz. cream cheese
1 tsp. Italian seasoning
Parmesan cheese

Brown hamburger. Drain and add spaghetti sauce. Set aside. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain. Add cream cheese and Italian seasoning and stir until cheese is melted and the spaghetti is well coated. Spread some hamburger mixture in the bottom of a 9 X 13" baking dish. Put spaghetti on top, and cover with the rest of the sauce. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Cook for 30 minutes at 350 degrees until bubbly.

I didn't have cream cheese or Italian seasoning, but I did have a container of the new Philadelphia cream sauces that was an Italian herb blend, so I used that instead. It was fabulous!!! Even Jacob, who doesn't like red sauces loved this. I got this recipe from the Plain Chicken blog that someone posted recently! Very yummy! With a green salad and some garlic bread, we were in heaven!

Dinner tonight will be mac and cheese for the kids, and Alan and I will grab something while we are shopping. We have to look for a new mirror for one of our bathrooms.

Have a great day, all! It's our last nice one until next week, so I'm going to make the most of it!

I took today off to be with my Veteran just to let him know that he will forever be my hero...

Be sure and thank a veteran today....

Have fun tonight with the girls.

Alison ~ I am so glad Fran is on the mend. What an angel you are to take such good care of her.

Yes, Kyle and Matthew had broken hearts at the same time. It is so good to see him happy again.

PIO ~ How is DH feeling? Stomach better?

Merle ~ You are one busy Godmother and friend. Hope your weekend is quiet.

Vickie – It won’t be the same here without you (and Freddie too)!

Laura – I hope y’all are enjoying a relaxed day today, God knows you deserve one!!!!

WFD - I had a dream about fajitas last night so we're going out for Mexican!

Morning all. Running to the Victoria Market this morning. Will be back to catch up.....looks like a few of us popped in to say hello whilst I was sleeping.

Kathy- I just had fajitas for lunch! Actually, fajitasless fajitas. Trying to loose a few pounds so I can gorge myself at Thanksgiving and Christmas!

Ellen- I really do enjoy my time off, I've already gotten so much done in just a few day. I can't believe Jay has been home over a year already. How is your bedroom coming along?

Glynis- Good luck with your house cleaning, our house looks like 7 people live in it, even though it's just the three of us.

Today the kiddo and I went to the mall to pick up harry potter. Holey mole, it was packed, it looked like the day after thanksgiving! The mall is 40 minutes away from us, so I really never go for one thing. I could not find a single parking space at Trader Joe's (we ended up just leaving) and every register was open at BJ's. At least we got our movie. If any of you need to get it, at Best Buy you get $20 off if you buy both the movie and the new lego video game.

Tonight we are just having $5 friday rotisseree chicken from the grocery store, not sure on the sides.

I cannot remember if I posted dinner last night. Enchiladas by Welby

Tonight the girls are coming over, Brian is home this evening but my little Princess was besides herself when she thought that she was missing dinner at Nana's. Brian is on his own :rotfl:. She is also bringing some gingerbread cookie roll thing over. She showed it to me yesterday and since I told her I loved gingerbread cookies she called to see if we could make them together :goodvibes OF course!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dinner is turkey with mashed potatoes and gravy, glazed carrots and steamed broccoli.

Kady was with me for a few hours yesterday and we tried to watch an OBG movie before my power went out again.....Bedknobs and Broomsticks! We are determined to see the entire thing!

Did you know I'm from New Mexico? Born and raised!

I lived in Albuquerque for just a bit and my mother lives there! We absolutely love Albuquerque! :goodvibes

It's Friday. Thank goodness!

I had a late meeting today! I hate it when they do that to us on a Friday afternoon. I just want to go home. :lmao:

We'll be cleaning this weekend to get ready for my dad coming to visit in a week. Other than that, I just need sleep. :cloud9:

Tonight's dinner was BLT pasta salad. This was another recipe I found on Pinterest. It was an extreme surprise! I wasn't expecting it to be that good!

I'll post pics and the recipe later.

Jen I think you may be off the hook. I think it was Aimee mentioning Pinterest. So many good ideas and recipes. You lose track of time:upsidedow

We have tons o leaves to pick up this weekend.

WFD was buffalo chicken and biscuits with fruit.

I am going to go relax and watch some recordings of Big Bang theory. I love those guys.:lovestruc

BLT Pasta Salad

376793_2515427534609_1520824968_32603574_1758609189_n.jpg

Ingredients:

12 ounce corkscrew shaped pasta
1/2 cup milk
12 ounces lean bacon
3 medium ripe tomatoes, cut into chunks
1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme
1 clove garlic, minced
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
1/2 cup mayo (i used 1/4 cup mayo and 1/4 cup greek yogurt)
1/4 cup sour cream
4 tablespoons chopped chives
5 heads Bibb lettuce, quartered, or 5 cups chopped romaine hearts

Directions

Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water as the label directs. Drain and toss with the milk in a large bowl; set aside.

Meanwhile, cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat until crisp. Drain on paper towels. Discard all but 3 tablespoons drippings from the pan. Add the tomatoes, thyme and garlic to the pan and toss until warmed through; season with salt and pepper. Crumble the bacon into bite-size pieces; set aside 1/4 cup for garnish. Toss the remaining bacon and the tomato mixture with the pasta.

Mix the mayonnaise, sour cream and 3 tablespoons chives with the pasta until evenly combined. Season with salt and pepper. Add the lettuce; toss again to coat. Garnish with the reserved bacon and the remaining 1 tablespoon chives. Serve at room temperature.

***At first, this recipe weirded me out a bit. Especially when I began to assemble everything. Warmish lettuce is not for me. But, the flavors are so surprising and yummy that I ended up loving it! Please trust Jen...and UncleR! :lmao: Y'all have to try this!

Well, I would freak out too!

This looks so yummy!!! I will definitely be trying it! I love BLT anything!

I managed to remember to pick up Harry Potter, but we will not be watching it anytime soon! Santa Claus will be delivering it to a stocking next month. However, I heard that Warner Bros. is going to be pulling all the DVD's within just a few weeks, and keeping them in a "vault" until they compile all the extras, etc., in an 8 movie collection. Anyone know if that's true? I didn't want to take a chance, so I picked up a copy today!
