You're on! DH will have to eat something else and I'm not sure if the Pho places near you are like the ones near me.....there is NOTHING peskyvegetarian on the menu. :lmao:

(And I did get my kitchen back.)

Absolutely. :thumbsup2 At this stage, it will be either late September or 2nd week in October, 2013. :teeth:
princess::upsidedow

I think the places in CA probably have a veggie and a seafood option. It would probably be more like in Sept for me as I might still be in WDW the second week of Oct. :rolleyes1

Hey, all! :surfweb: I'm meeting Amanda for lunch at Panera today. Scott is supposed to go out to lunch with an old coworker today (AGAIN, the guy calls and cancels all the time, drives him nuts) so no cooking for me. I will call Scott while I'm there and see if he got to go out. If he didn't, I will bring him something for dinner from there. Aren't I a good wife? :littleangel: LOL!

I hope you and Amanda had a nice lunch, that's sweet of you to offer to get something for Scott.

I forgot to update on me, I'm so tired. :lmao:

Uhhhhh, let's see. I stayed up too late watching Real Housewives. :rotfl: So, now I'm tired. ;) Back to work today, but at least it's a "short" week.

Tonight we're grilling hot dogs for dinner...easy cooking after a full weekend of food!

Y'all have a great Tuesday!

I always stay up too late! :lmao: Take it easy tonight! After all the cookin you did this weekend!

Morning! Our weather has cleared up some, and now it's wicked cold!!! I don't even want to dip my toes out of the house!!!

!

I don't blame you! I'm sure it's actually COLD where you are and not "it's below 60 like we all complain about.

Becky, it sounds like you had a nice weekend with some good food.

Alison ~ I have everything crossed for you to get great new tenants.

We had a really fun weekend. We were at Marty and Stephanie's bright and early Saturday morning. They had cinnamon rolls, and eggs with sausage all ready for breakfast. We then got busy and started painting the nursery. We were fininshed (with the paint) by noon. The guys got all the trim out and replaced. Stephanie and I washed the bedding and by 5:00 the nursery was all but finished. It really turned out great!! I posted pictures on FB if you all want to see. Just let me know!! Marty fixed ribs in his new smoker - O M G they were delicious.

Thanks! I appreciate it!

SOunds like you had quite a day Saturday, so nice that the nursery is all finished.

My BFF and I had a girls only football party with articoke dip, shrimp, cheese and crackers, some frozen TGIF's apps and 4 and 1/3 bottles of Moscato and 2 wine coolers. :thumbsup2 That Moscato is WAY to easy to drink.

The wine coolers came from her house by way of her 11yo. He was upset that he couldn't come to the party, she told him no male parts allowed,;) and at some point in the third quarter he showed up looking for something to drink, they had run out of soda. She yelled out to him that he was only allowed in with alchohol thinking he would just go back home. He left alright, came back in 3 minutes with two wine coolers in a wine glass box. I gave him a bottle of soda and sent him on his way.:rotfl:

That is too funny! :lmao:

Well we had our dinner in the Chinese buffet last night. it was pretty good and welcome because I was visiting Bud's mom so dinner would have been very late.
Tonight I want to cook pork chops. We need to get to see Buddy's Mom first though because I have Rylee and Nola tomorrow. They were here this morning because Brian had errands. My poor little sweetheart Nola has some kind of virus but was feeling better today. Rylee is the next to fall I think, her little nose was running and she started sneezing and coughing. I think that they are going to put their Dr's kids through college!

I Hope Nola feels better! It sounds like she could use a concierge doctor like we have. Flat fee for the year, unlimited support via phone, email, appointments.

tonight is Barber Foods Chicken - Brie & Apple and Parmesean for Hubs, Brie & Apple for me, Kiev for DD and DS doens't like them so Chicken Nuggets. For sides we'll have Lipton Garlic Noodles for the kids, Herb & Butter rice for the grown ups and everyone will have green beans. Then it's off to Hockey!

Have you had this flavor before? I really like the Cordon Bleu and Broccoli and Cheese, but those are the only flavors my grocery store has. At Costco I saw a flavor that was new to me, but I don't remember what it was.

 I will have to try these once I can stand up for any length of time...

Yesterday was a good day, I felt good and got ready to go to the Dr. We had a groupon for a local BBQ place and headed there before my appointment.

I had a great meal and then started getting anxious about the Dr.

So he removed my stitches and placed steri strips (SP?) over the site. He was not happy still with the flexibility, to prove it he grabbed my foot and pushed hard and "Showed" me how to be moving it. I was so embarrassed, the tears just flowed, it hurt, he told me he was sorry but that he had to do it and so did I or I would end up back in the surgery center getting the scar tissue broken up.

I am only allowed to take Tylenol now if I need it and I have to push my foot to bend like he wants...

So I have been tired and self pity has set in so I did not get on the boards yesterday.

Today is a little better but I think I need a nap...

Alison we seem to vacation ALOT at the same time, so maybe we should plan one together some where...

We already have one! In 8 months, 3 weeks and 4 days!

I am so there with you on this... love you too.... I am crying now and have no idea why?????

Ok serious nap time now....

I get that way a lot and I didn't even have surgery!

Marilyn- Oh my!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Brilliant kid but now we know your friend needs to think before speaking to this enterprising kid :rotfl:

Yeah. She was a little freaked out about that. And even more freaked when I posted to FB about #3 Black Cat (Gato Negro, which was really good) and then that she'd had a little too much cause she was yelling at Ray Lewis to listen to her. :rotfl:

Today is a little better but I think I need a nap...

Dinner tonight will be salmon, zucchini and some sort of rice like food, haven't decided yet.

Morning! Our weather has cleared up some, and now it's wicked cold!!! I don't even want to dip my toes out of the house!!!

Dinner last night changed to tacos. We had to go out, late afternoon, so that Katie and Alan could get their eyes checked and order new glasses (Alan has to get bifocals, hee, hee!!!), and when they were done it was dinner time. No one wanted to wait for the pasta and sauce to cook, so we stopped at Del Taco for a family pack. It hit the spot. Timothy devoured 2 all by himself!

I'm thinking that I'll do the cream cheese baked spaghetti pasta for dinner tonight. That sounds warm and wonderful to me!

Have a great day, everyone!

Mmmmmm, cream cheese spaghetti. :lovestruc

It was in the 60's this morning, temps have been falling all day and now it's in the mid 40's, dropping down to the 20's tonight. :confused3

I haven't uploaded any pics from the weekend yet but it was a big food weekend for us. Let's see.... Friday I made pizza and John and I watched Moneyball (great movie!). Saturday was of course the Patriots game. My Mom made a salad in the afternoon with pecan-coated chicken, goat cheese, apples, and craisins. Then I made snacks for the game: buffalo chicken dip, white queso dip, spinach and artichoke dip, Philadelphia cheese steak spring rolls, a muffaletta, and popcorn. Yesterday I roasted a couple of chickens and made mashed potatoes, green beans, and Pioneer Woman's rosemary rolls to go with. My Mom made the gravy.

WFD: not sure, waiting to hear back from John as to his preference.

I'm going to have to know what philadelphia cheese steak spring rolls are, please. :teeth:

Jen ~ I loved your bagels. I want to try my hand at those. I love whole wheat ones, were there any variations to the recipe?
You asked about Marty's smoker - Stephanie got him a Treager. It is awsome.

Marty fixed ribs in his new smoker - O M G they were delicious.

Sunday we had Church then went shopping in GI (about 75 miles away). Not a very productive day and I was glad to finally get home. Just ONE of THOSE days.

Monday I did wash all day - fun way to spend my day off huh?? But at least it is done. Then I spent the day reading my Kindle. I am in the middle of a Trilogy that I am having a hard time putting down. So all in all a great day.

WFDT ~ Meatloaf, baked potatoes and cheesy green beans.

Make it a great day all!!

There was a comment in the original recipe for the bagels where someone had stated that they had used whole wheat flour and that they had turned out great!

And I didn't see the nursery pics, I'll have to go look.

What trilogy are you reading, if you don't mind my asking.

Behind again. :sad2: I did try to post Sunday evening from my cell but it died and I was in no condition to go downstairs to my computer. :rolleyes1

Dang, I want that kid. :lmao:

Stay warm all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope you don't catch the cold! And hope all the kiddos are feeling better soon.

Well, bless your heart, honey. It sounds like you need some pepping up...shall we come over with some wine and we can all have a ***** fest? ;)

I hope you had a good nap.

I'm home from work! Tomorrow's already Wednesday! I love short weeks! :goodvibes

Today was a great day at work. Stopped by the store before coming home and then we grilled hot dogs and I made macaroni salad. Nice easy dinner. :woohoo:

I hope everyone has a great evening and an even better Wednesday!

Becky - Can't wait to see your latest food porn. popcorn::

Ellen - Sound like you had a really fun weekend. What colour did you paint the nursery? And I wanna know the same thing as Jen - What trilogy are you reading?

Marilyn - A girl's only football party sound a lot of fun particularly when Moscato is involved. Glad you had a good time.

Nancy - Hope Rylee and Nola are feeling better.

Bibsis1970 - How old are your kids? (apologies if I missed this in an earlier post).

Brandi - Healing takes time. Do you have a physiotherapist to help you with any of this or is this an Australian concept?

Alison - Those places in CA sound like the go. I'll build in a stopover in Anaheim on the way over and worry about what we do on the way back.

Jen - We're having temps in the 80's here for the last couple of days. The nights haven't been much cooler. Thankfully, a cool change blew through today. Its very pleasant in the high 60s/low 70's here right now.

Well, it's Wednesday night and we had dinner at mum's tonight. It wasn't up to her normal spread as we will be celebrating Chinese New Year on Monday. So, this coming week, we're having CNY Eve dinner on sunday night at Mum's. She's putting on a steamboat and I sure hope that we have cool weather.
We're also having dinner at Mum's on Monday night. It will be similar to the food we had on Christmas Eve....curries and rice.

Hope you're having a great day. :goodvibes

Popping in quickly to say good morning and I hope everyone has a great day! Tonight is dinner at church and they are serving BBQ. It's usually pretty good and Scott loves the stuff so it should be a good evening ;)

Sorry to post and rush but my mom will be here soon and I need to get a few things done. Have a great day!:hippie:

Today it's supposed to get up to around 50 but later this week, 70's. :confused3

I found a whole blog on making different foods for Chinese New Year. I think I've been inspired. You'll have to let us know what you make/what a steamboat is.

Have you every made chinese noodles from scratch? Do you have a recipe?

Jen Steamboat it like a fondue but you cook everything in a broth and then drink the broth at the end. It is very good:thumbsup2 What website did you find. I am always looking for new Chinese recipes.

Ellen My friend lost his Mom, he is doing ok.

Today Mr A starts his finals. If you can spare a small prayer for calmness for him. He is stressing, I think he will do fine if he can just relax. Today is Spanish and Physics.

Well, sign me up for the Steamboat! :lmao:

Here's the blog I follow for the Chinese New Year ideas: http://www.closetcooking.com/2012/01/chinese-new-year-recipes.html

J's finals were last week. Sending good thoughts to Mr A!

Good morning from bitter cold Nebraska.

Merle ~ Moscato is good stuff.........'nough said ;)

Nan ~ Thanks for asking - Liam is doing great. Elizabeth came down yesterday and I really can see how he is growing. He is starting to chub up. He is just so darn cute. Still is doing all of the newborn grunts and groans. I love those sounds, they just don't last long enough. And he just smell heavenly.

Brandi ~ oh sweetie, I am so sorry the doctor hurt you, but it does sound like he really did have to. We want you back to 100% so you had better be listening to him. Take care.

Jen ~ I just got done with the Redemption series by Karen Kingsbury and Gary Smalley and now I am reading the Rose Trilogy by Beverly Lewis. Please don't flame me....either you love them or you don't. I happen to really like them. :goodvibes

PIO ~ Marty and Stephanie have not found out what they are having so the nursery will be perfect for either a boy or a girl. When Stephanie was born my Momma always called her, her little lamb, actually till the day she died. So Stephanie did the nursery in lambs. We painted the bottom of 2 walls a deep burgundy and the top and the other 2 walls a beige, with a small white bead seperating the 2 colors. The closet, window, trim and door is all white. The furniture is expresso. All of the bedding is colors of beige, red and white with little lambs. It is really cute and my Momma would have loved it. Thanks for asking.

Janice ~ Prayers for Mr. A. He will do just fine I know but even so I am sure he is nervous.
Thanks for explaining the steamboat. I was wondering also - sounds neat.

The temps are not to get above 10 today. Burrrrrr!! But at least no snow like some of the USA.

WFDT ~ Date night - YEA!!!!

Make it a great day!

I hope you had a good nap.

::yes:: I think I would feel better if we all did that... :rotfl:

Today is better than yesterday, I just think I was hurting and feeling a little down with my progress...

WFD - Fajita's... ala David...

Brandi - Healing takes time. Do you have a physiotherapist to help you with any of this or is this an Australian concept?

I have never heard of that so and none have been offered, so I am guessing I don't have that option....

As for New year's, we normally celebrate with our friends from China, and I make Pork and Ginger potstickers and long noodle, fried rice and lots or oranges, our friends bring fish (normally whole) and we Never ever clean on New Years. Now all of this is for luck if I remember correctly, the long noodles, the oranges, the whole fish and the no cleaning....

BUT, we will not be doing anything this year, since I can't stand up.... Oh well I guess we will be ordering in..

Have a wonderful time

 I will have to try these once I can stand up for any length of time...

AWWWW :hug::hug: well hard as it is to do what he wants cause it hurts you know its for the best and I am sure you'll stick with it .. come here on the boards to get lots of hugs and support from all your Disney Crazy friends!!

Have you had this flavor before? I really like the Cordon Bleu and Broccoli and Cheese, but those are the only flavors my grocery store has. At Costco I saw a flavor that was new to me, but I don't remember what it was.

Absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the Apple and Brie ones -- hard to find Shaw's (Star Market) is the only place I've found those and when I do I stock up.. My DD like the Kiev - but don't make the mistake of draining the butter that will come out in the bottom of the foil - use it for dipping the top half of the chicken into - that was her tip!

Bibsis1970 - How old are your kids? (apologies if I missed this in an earlier post).

Hi my DD is 18 and a Senior in HS and my DS is 15 and is a Freshman. Man they grow up all to fast I swear just yesterday I was planning their first trip when they were 8 & 5!

Oh yea and WFDT - Breakfast for Dinner night - Cinnamon French Toast, Sausgae patties, Fresh cut Fruit and maybe some homefries if anyone wants them

Oh my heavens, I'm cringing just imagining that! I'm SO SORRY!! I hope today is better

Last night, I decided against cooking and instead picked up Taco Tuesday plates for us. Cheap and yummy.

Tonight is church so I'm working late... dinner is :confused3

Morning, all. The weather here is crazy. Yesterday, sunny and warm... today, cloudy and freezing! I wish it would make up its mind!

Ellen - No judgment from me. I like Beverly Lewis! The nursery sounds darling! I bet you all can't wait for the baby to come!!!

PIO - sounds like you have Chinese New Year well in hand! I'm thinking about trying my hand at pot stickers this year. We'll see how ambitious I get!

Janice - Good luck to Mr. A! I'm sure he'll do fine! Katie had her finals last week, and it was very stressful.

Lindsay - Have fun with your mom!

Bigsis - I haven't said hello, yet! Welcome to the family! We're kind of crazy, but it's the best thing that's happened to me!

Brandy - I'm glad to hear your feeling better about things today. Sometimes we all need to throw ourselves a pity party, and then move on.

Well, I have some kind of cold settling into my chest. I spent a lot of time in bed yesterday, just not feeling up to anything. No strength, coughing, etc. Ick! Alan is getting it, too, and that's not good. Any kind of a chest cold ends up as bronchitis with him. He gets home from work early today, so I think I'll try to talk him into visiting our doctor.

Dinner tonight will be Wisconsin Cauliflower soup a la my favorite restaurant Cafe Zupa's! I'm excited to try it!!! We'll have grilled cheese sandwich croutons to go with it. Yum! If I get ambitious, I'd like to make a loaf of homemade bread today, as well. Does anyone know if I can use all white flour instead of some white and some wheat? I don't have any wheat right now. I could grind some, but not sure I want to do that. Any ideas?
