The What's For Dinner Thread - November '09(recipe index in OP)

I agree with Nan you are not fat. But if it makes you feel any better we can be bald and fat together. I am a stress eater and right now weigh more than I did pregnant. Also, I have had terrible hair loss this time around as well. You are beautiful inside and out so cut it out!!! At least you don't look like you should be making moon shine anymore. ;) XoXo.

:lmao:

Good morning! We got in late last night, had a fantastic trip!!!!! Not sure if I'll have time to catch up here today or not, have tons of errands to run and loads of laundry...bbl....

WFD - Spaghetti & meat sauce, caesar salad and garlic bread.

Welcome home!

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:That cracked me up!!!! True the front tooth is fixed.
Your all a great fan club but I have gained lots of weight plus after a shower it looks like a hamster is sitting on the drain.

I think I missed Lauri's DD breakup. Is she okay?

I am never going to be able to really keep up, apologies to all I missed.

Dinner is going to be a tuna noodle casserole. It is Ash Wednesday so no meat here and a little fasting. We are not good at that but will try. Buddy is not eating lunch but I get grouchy. He did have a good breakfast, Brian was up most of the night so Welby brought Nola here to try to let him sleep. She brought her big griddle and made us a pancaker breakfast. I love my girls!

Wish my DS luck please. He turned his leased Envoy in and was looking for a new vehicle for Erica but they decided that he would pick up a beater and save for a while. Well he got it into his head that he would buy a junk like Buddy but Bud managed to talk him out of that. He found a pickup last night so hopefully it is a good choice. We tried to tell him that Bud does not start out with really old things, he just keeps them until they finally die a very slow, lingering and expensive death!

Hi all! We had a nice quiet day at home yesterday. I worked on income taxes, did some laundry and cooking. We had beef stew for dinner last night, and I made a big pot of red beans, which gives us a couple of meals for another day. Tonight we are doing sliders, probably with french fries and a veggie. I still have some fresh cauliflower in the fridge, so I may do something with that.

Gretchen - we get snow so rarely here that when we do get a significant amount everyone is playing in it. Course my dogs want nothing to do with it.

Marilyn - we try to do weekly menus because Bob is usually the first home. He enjoys cooking, but he needs a bit of guidance as to what.

Glynis - is your husband still alive? I think the freezer is where to put him.

Lauren - glad the house is coming along. Don't worry about keeping up here, I'll be glad once you are finally settled in one place; I worry about the stress of going back and forth could be having on you.

Aimee - glad you are feeling well enough to venture out. Just don't get carried away and have a set-back.

Ellen and Maria - yuk on the tooth problems. I hope they get resolved quickly!

Vickie - I hope you are feeling better!

Lauri - I hope all works out for your cousin.

After the two parades I did see, we went to the store to get a king cake and then I went to Popeye's for lunch and then I went home and just relaxed. I'm hoping to be a little more productive today!

Well, at least you ate the proper Mardi Gras meal! Next year Mardi Gras is March 8, so hopefully it will be warmer.

We did wind up going out tonight because I had errands to run. My SIL sends me a list of things her kids want for their birthdays each year. That alone is tacky to me but this year after I bought them she then emailed me that they changed their minds and really want gift cards to a specific store. I was not amused but went and returned the presents and bought the gift cards. And yes she knew I already bought the presents and yes I know I should have just told her a gift is exactly that and she should take what I send and do with it what she will (and I had a few suggestions as to where she could put the unwanted gifts as well).

Ya know, I love to get suggestions because I really have no idea what to buy for my niece and nephew. But seriously, that's insanely rude. They would have gotten the gifts already purchased.

I'm on call for jury duty all this month for federal court. So far, I haven't had to go in, but my next date is for next Monday. It's actually the first time I've ever been called on, and would love to have a chance to actually do so.

DH has a basketballgame to go to tonight. so he will be eating out with my DSS. I am going over to my parents for dinner. We are going to get take-out fried fish somewhere.

I have been researching carseats all day. It is almost time to move DD into DS's and for him to get a big boy seat. I scored a Britax carseat reg $280 for $207 including shipping.:woohoo:

Have a great hump day my friends!!!! (Vickie, get your mind out off the gutter frat boy!):rotfl:

Kat, I noticed you did not say I was not fat!:lmao:
Maria, I like to think Remi lives in my drain. ;)

Aimee, love the light fixture. Styling!

I had to read this over about 5 times till i got it....I swear I have the mind of a 20yrs old frat boy sometimes !! :rolleyes1

:rotfl::rotfl:

Glynis, I missed the part that you were also racing!! You GO Girl!

Robin & Wendie, you have me wanting a burger!

Kat, are we going to have pictures posted soon of your weekend?

Nan, I am so out of the loop I can't believe it.:headache:
Good luck with the car........

Lauri U - Sorry about DD's break-up, how is she doing?

I think I missed Lauri's DD breakup. Is she okay?

Erin's doing okay. They've decided to be friends :confused3. He broke it off - he's not ready to grow up (he's 23) and Bob and I think this is the best thing ever. He was her first real boyfriend, and in the three years they dated, he had a job for maybe, about 2 months. So, she supported him (they lived together for about 15 months - thats a whole nother story!) and quit school for a year to do that. She decided she wanted to go back to school, so she moved home last summer, giving him a 6 month ultimatum that he found a job, or went back to school, or it was over. It took longer than 6 months, but I think she's finally figured him out.

Lauri, I hope she is ok and find someone ready to be a grown-up! Sounds like after the hurt she will be better in the long run.

No dentist for me today...I canceled this morning. I'm just not up to it so I'll deal with the tooth pain a few more days.

You need to go!!! :goodvibes

3 years is a long time at her age, esp when they shared a household. I'm sure it's going to take some time for her to adjust to life without him. Though, it sounds like perhaps that is the best thing for her in the longrun... and good for her for finally sticking to her original ultimatum!

Sounds like you're right, this is probably a very good thing.

Kat, great view!! So jealous.

Off to my parents...BBL, if not tomorrow!

I will never get caught up...I have been reading along....just never a moment to post....it is winter break and Ross has had friends over daily....it has been warm and sunny, so that has helped as they have played outside on skateboards, bikes and the trampoline. I have become a short order cook to preteen boys....though for snack most just help themselves and know to write on the list if they finish something off......on that note I see that my grocery list is VERY long right now, lol. I do love it really, Kris and I always said we wanted our home to be the one all the kids hung out at.

Good news is Ross is spending the night at one of his best buds house up the road. It is his friends b-day today, Ross is all excited as it is a big Italian family and that means lots of food, lol.
I have peace and quiet........time for wine!!

Kat--Welcome Home, you were missed!! Great View!!

Gretchen--I love Hailey more and more with every story you tell!!! I am on her side and the whole snow thing!!! A sucker is better then snow anyday!!

Glynis--Please tell the kiddos to break a leg with their play!!

Lauren--I am sure you are overwhelmed with everything right now. Take it one day at a time, my friend...we understand and are ALWAYS here!!

Ellen--Did you get your tooth taken care of??

Maria--Did you reschedule your tooth appt??

Aimee--Please don't over due and push to hard. I am afraid you will have a set back. .......and Love the new chandelier!!

Vickie--We think a lot a like, lol!!!

Ann--Funny what deals excite us as we get older!!

I have missed a ton....I'm trying but I think I need to start taking notes, lol.

Have we heard from Stephanie??

Ok......Ross just called, I need to go find Ross sleeping bag so Kris can run it up the road to him....he packed video games, but not the sleeping bag.....typical:thumbsup2

Wfd--leftover homemade mac and cheese with ham and fresh green beans! and WINE!!

Wendie, I didn't reschedule the dentist. I told them I would call tomorrow.
Right now I'm wishing I had a pill to pop.

Don't worry about not catching up...I think a few of us are feeling very lost.
I actually called Gretchen by your name earlier today.
Enjoy your wine & alone time with your Honey.

Aimee, thank you for the push. I will go in the next few days.

Lauri, sorry about DD. First love is tough. Hope she finds someone that deserves her.

Kathy Is that the Broadwalk's water slide? Looks really cool.

Maria The Hamster reference almost got me busted today. I would have had to explain the coffee all over the computer. :rotfl2:

We just got in a little while ago from Alex Karate class. I am glad we are in for the night. I am beat. I sure hope tonight I can sleep.:rolleyes1

We had take out tonight cause I forgot to put away the leftover food from last night. I really hate when I do that. I went to put away some laundry after dinner with the intention of coming right back and freezing the remainder. Well then I decided I would take a shower then I saw my book then I forgot pirate:. My brain is worse than mush lately.
