The What's For Dinner Thread - November '09(recipe index in OP)

Which is better Broadwalk's or Beach Clubs water slide and pool?

I love the BC pools. Sand bottom is great. I also like the slide better.
The BW is ok.......to be honest that big clown scares the pants off me. I hate clowns.

Thanks I forgot about the clown. I would have nightmares for sure.:rolleyes1
I used to hate the clowns at the circus when I was little.:upsidedow

BC/YC is more mini water park, BW is just a large pool with a twisty slide and scary clown. Hell, I'll stay at either again if someone else is paying!

So, I went to Target tonight. I :lovestruc Target. I eyed the zoom zoom shopping carts on the way in but DH seemed embarassed at the thought so I got a cart and leaned on it. I made it through the store but it completely wore me out... but I did get a cute new pair of shoes! :rotfl:

We stopped at Taco Bueno for dinner. More Bueno!

Good morning y'all!

WFD - Grilled chicken, scalloped potatoes and corn.

Have a great day.....bbl.....

Thats exactly why I would have used it !!! :rotfl2:

:thumbsup2 on the shoes.

Welcome back Kathy! Hope you had a great time.

I hate the clown at Boardwalk too! It's totally freaky looking, and then you come out of its big bloody red mouth...

The coconut shrimp curry was good last night. I have not uploaded a picture yet.

WFD tonight: pesto chicken roulades, oven roasted potatoes, and swiss chard.

Aimee, please take it easy. Glad you got out for a bit.

WFD- Swiss chicken casserole, rice pilaf, and stringbeans.

We have to run to Target later...DS is not interested in the potty training thing at all. I need to try to find training pants. The pull-ups just don't work. He is really showing a bit of jealousy lately to his DSis.

DD the same baby who did not want to come out of me...is taking her own sweet time getting teeth now. They are no where in site.

Good day all!

Hi everyone, I am back, but just barely!!

This tooth is still hurting really bad. I went to my regular dentist on Tuesday. He openend it up to give me some relief and decided I needed a root canal. So he called a favor in to a specialist in Lincoln to get it done on Wednesday. So yesterday Doug and I headed to Lincoln (2 1/2 hours east). He was able to save the tooth but there is so much inflamation that the pain is very severe. I will be SO glad when the pain subsides. There is NOTHING that hurts like a tooth. The Dorctor gave me Vicodan for pain and it doesn't even touch it. I will live but darn it hurts.

WFDT ~ soup for me. Still no chewing, only swallowing. We have a cast dinner for the play that Doug is in. So I don't have to cook but I can't eat either. Such is Life!!!

I hope to catch up toady. So I will BBL.

Love and prayers to all who need it.

I will never get caught up...I have been reading along....just never a moment to post....it is winter break and Ross has had friends over daily....it has been warm and sunny, so that has helped as they have played outside on skateboards, bikes and the trampoline. I have become a short order cook to preteen boys....though for snack most just help themselves and know to write on the list if they finish something off......on that note I see that my grocery list is VERY long right now, lol. I do love it really, Kris and I always said we wanted our home to be the one all the kids hung out at.

Sounds like a great time! I love that you have the boys trained to add to your grocery list. :rotfl: I hope you enjoyed your quiet and your wine!

We had take out tonight cause I forgot to put away the leftover food from last night. I really hate when I do that. I went to put away some laundry after dinner with the intention of coming right back and freezing the remainder. Well then I decided I would take a shower then I saw my book then I forgot pirate:. My brain is worse than mush lately.

I woke up this morning remembering that I hadn't picked up the remaining hamburgers last night, but when I walked in the kitchen they weren't on the stove. Seems DH picked them up last night. That man would leave filet out, but he's not gonna let a hamburger go to waste!! :rotfl:

As to the mush brain, I'm like that all the time - start doing one thing, then get sidetracked. I blame it on ADD ;).

BC/YC is more mini water park, BW is just a large pool with a twisty slide and scary clown. Hell, I'll stay at either again if someone else is paying!

I'm with ya on the paying part! I'd love to stay at an Epcot area resort, but I just can't justify that kind of money on a room. And I'm with Vickie - the embarrassment use is great!! And I can't believe you ate Taco Bueno! I hope you're feeling okay from that!

Ann - sorry you're in the teething stage with DD. I think that's one of the worst phases to have to go thru, they are just so miserable.

Ellen - OUCH!!! Gosh, I'm so sorry you have to go thru that. I hope it gets better quickly.

Not sure yet wfd, we have a few things in the fridge, so I guess it will depend on how much effort we want to put towards dinner tonight.

Nancy -- Good luck to your DS with the truck.

Lauri -- I've been called for jury duty enough for you. I've had to go four times, and I've been called at least two other times but didn't have to report. Of those, I was only on a jury once.

Wendie -- I hope you enjoyed your evening last night. I laughed about Ross forgetting his sleeping bag but remembering the video games.

The BW is ok.......to be honest that big clown scares the pants off me.

It really is one scary-looking clown!

Thats exactly why I would have used it !!!

Ann -- Good luck finding the training pants. I agree on the pull-ups being useless. I know how frustrated you must be feeling right now, but DS will get it eventually.

Aimee -- I'm glad you are getting out a little bit, but only do as much as your body allows. You must be feeling pretty good to be able to eat tacos!

Kathy -- Greg is very sore, but otherwise, he is good. Thanks for asking. I can't wait to hear more about your trip.

Tonight is going to be the meatball sub I didn't make on Tuesday. I'll make pasta for the kids.

Ellen, please take care. I'm so sorry you aren't feeling well.

Vick, I was thinking the same thing. ;)

Ann, give him time. Of course he's jealous after he had you all to himself. Marlu is going through that with Liam since Guiliana arrived. Sending you love.

We are still on the waitlist for BC so I don't have to deal with the clown. We're hoping for some pool time next month & I don't want to look into that big hellish mouth!

Did anyone watch the Olympics last night? That snowboarding is amazing!!!!!! Kids these days........ : )

Ann- Zachy didn't get his first tooth until he was 12.5 months and then it was only one. It took months for the second one to even come through. When he turned two he only had 8 teeth and now at 2.9 he is still missing a tooth and we've been told he might just not have that baby tooth (but will have the adult tooth). The good news is he had no teething issues, I think being older helps in that regard.

Ellen- dental problems are the worst, feel better soon!

Maria- I was totally amazed by the snowboarding. I can't even imagine how many broken bones I would have if I even tried to stand on a snowboard.

Dinner tonight will be hot and sour eggplant with tofu.

Ok lassies, very quick and most ridiculously cryptic post ever...

Im about to go and have the hardest, most emotional and potentially a damaging conversation with my mum.

I cant post what about on here (PM and I will share) but I really need all your strength ower the water.

It will help knowing youse guys have my back....please dont worry its an emotional issue not a medical one.

:rotfl: I learned my lesson and next time, I'm using one!

 What will make the pain finally calm down? Another procedure or time?

I was smart and got grilled steak and grilled chicken soft tacos and nothing too bad for you. ;)

We didn't watch the coverage in prime time last night (dh had a STUPID movie he wanted to watch) but I watched it in bed and stayed up until 2am fascinated with it - finally couldn't hold my eyes open anymore. So cool!

Okay, friends. I have a confession to make. I had a fantastic conference scheduled for next week with all the arrangements already booked prior to surgery. I have held out hope that I would be well enough to go this whole time and refused to cancel my travel plans. My confession? I've asked everyone close to me if I should go except y'all because I knew you all would say no :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

But after my trip to Target last night, I realized I need to stay home and not push it. Even though a few of my friends thought I might be able to go! I'm really really sad to miss it :sad1:

A friend from church is bringing lasagna for us for dinner tonight. YUM!

Ann - I'm sure what Luke is feeling is perfectly normal, hugs to you on the teething issue.

Ellen - OUCH! I'm praying you get some relief soon my friend.

Lauri U - I can't justify the rack rates at the EPCOT resorts either, renting DVC is the way to go!:thumbsup2

Vickie - We've got your back girlfriend. I'm sending strength to you.

Aimee - I'm sad you're going to miss the conference but you're doing the right thing. You know us well, don't you?;)

Vickie, my prayers are with you and I of course have your back - ALWAYS!!!

Welcome home Kat. I am so glad you and Johnny had a good time. Love the view.

Aimee ~ Only time will make my tooth better. The restoration went perfect but there is inflamation above the tooth into the bone. VERY very painful. Probably the most painful thing I have ever had - and I had 3 kids with natural child birth. :scared1:

That's all my vicoden brain can remember. I will get better and be a better friend. Soon, very soon I hope.

I was really amazed at how high they get on those jumps. And did you see the women's downhill? I don't know how any of those ladies walked away from the spills they took. I'd have broken every bone in my body.

You ARE a smart lady - first with your food choices, then with your travel decision. I know you'll miss out on a fun and educational conference, but your health is way more important. Besides, you know someone here would of headed you off at the pass, so to speak, if you had tried to go. Enjoy your lasagna tonight!

I don't understand this renting points thing that you speak of; I know its done often, but I just can't figure it out. Maybe one day, I'll get someone to explain it to me. :goodvibes
